I didn't find the Indie World too exciting. Also, the audio was out of sync the entire time, and it was on Nintendo's end. Soundfall looked kinda cool, though. That was the most interesting thing to me. EDIT: Here's the full video. They fixed the audio. They didn't even end with a "one last thing."

Yeah, this was kind of a bummer Indie World. I know they can't all be loaded with the AAA indie titles, but they all felt pretty same-y this time around. None of them looked bad, though, so that's good.

…Whoa.
I spent the first 5 minutes laughing, unable to take the sci-fi theme seriously. That part feels like discount Star Wars.
The rest of the presentation was an overview trailer of the game, and everything just feels so big. The cast of characters is large, and that's a pretty big ability tree. I guess physical space isn't the only thing that's big about Xenoblade.
It looks like they've included quite a few user experience features (like freely adjustable time). I'm actually somewhat interested now. Don't think I'll try it (yet) due to sheer time limitation, but yeah, now I'm a bit curious.
Also, it's a bit late to say this now, but I felt Xenoblade 1 and X were too western-styled to my taste, but the character design got considerably cuter later on. I'd say 3 more so than 2; the design in 2 went a bit too overboard, while the ones in 3 feel more in line with other JRPGs.

The rest of the presentation was an overview trailer of the game, and everything just feels so big. The cast of characters is large, and that's a pretty big ability tree. I guess physical space isn't the only thing that's big about Xenoblade. When I first played the original game on the Wii, it was way more complex than I was expecting. All the Xenoblade games can be a little overwhelming with their sheer number of different systems and gameplay nuances. Unfortunately, they're also infamous for not explaining things very well. It looks like they've included quite a few user experience features (like freely adjustable time). I'm actually somewhat interested now. Don't think I'll try it (yet) due to sheer time limitation, but yeah, now I'm a bit curious. Adjustable time has been in every Xenoblade game. In general, the series is really good about QoL features. But yeah, any Xenoblade game requires some level of commitment. Interestingly, all the Xeno games seem to suffer from a bit of an identity crisis in terms of style. Even with Xenosaga, episode I had very cute anime-style characters, whereas episode II went jarringly in the opposite directing with much more realistic, Western-style characters (which was rather unpopular). Episode III found the sweet spot. I think Xenoblade 3 has found that sweet spot, as well. (Although, I think XC1: Definitive Edition also did a good job of updating its character designs.)

Nintendo Direct Mini Partner Showcase announced.
Interesting. So if the general Summer Direct gets pushed back to July, will the Autumn Direct end up October? And if the Summer Direct ends up in August, will Nintendo just skip an Autumn Direct altogether?

I don't have much to say about this. Some of the big reveals were already leaked. The remake of Pac-man World is cool, I guess.
New Monkey Island game. I've never played any of them (except for old demos of Curse of Monkey Island and Tales from Monekey Island), but it's an iconic point-and-click adventure series. IIRC, original creators Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman created this new one, which is cool.
I've been keeping an eye on Sonic Frontiers. Not sure if I'll get it, but I'm intrigued by the idea. Cool that it also has classic-style Sonic zones.
Interesting to see Square Enix get into the farming RPG genre with Harvestella. As you know, I've been interested in this genre for a while, but only recently bought Stardew Valley because of the free trial. I'll talk about that in another thread, though.
Additionally, Nintendo dropped a Treehouse Live (I guess technically it's not "live") video for Live A Live. I'm not interested in this game, however.

I've actually been a little interested in Harvestella. I may check this out.

Hard Drive pulling no punches. "Tomorrow’s Nintendo Direct Will Be Livestreamed Twice by Nintendo Ireland Out of Disrespect for the Queen"linkOn a serious note, hopefully we get an update for NSO of GB/GBC and GBA games. Also want some of the GCN port/remakes to be true.

Easily the best Nintendo Direct I've ever seen. Just trailer after trailer, covering a wide range of games. Also Pikmin 4 is a real thing. Yay!

A good direct, interesting to see that the rumors about ports of Windwaker HD and Twilight Princess HD and the long rumor of Metroid Prime HD didn't happen. Thought that the Screwattack icon when Goldeneye was revealed was going to be foreshadowing but it wasn't.
- Fire Emblem: Summon FE Lords of the Rings Engage starring Joy Con/toothpaste hair lord, looks like pair up will create attacks that might have a greater area of effect/movement options? - Farming games. - NSO gets a bunch of never before released games PilotWings 64, Mario Party 1, Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 along with Goldeneye 007 (also releasing in 4K on Xbox but with no online). - Fatal Frame 4 finally gets a worldwide release (also multiplat like FF5). - More farming games. - Pikmin 4 after what felt like a fakeout with Pikmin Bloom. - Rain Code looks fun. - Happy to see Kirby:RtDD exist because now I don't need to buy it on Wii U. - Zelda and the title that seems a little awkward at this moment in time for the Commonwealth.
So with the latest batch of N64 games, the last Nintendo published and non-Rareware N64 games are Super Smash Bros and Hey You Pikachu! and latter won't get released because it needs the microphone and voice processor unit. So SSB64 (with online) in 2023?

And now it's time for me to convey my thoughts directly to you. - Fire Emblem: EngageI saw the leaked screens of this earlier this year, and I was convinced they were fake because I didn't think it looked very good. Now that it's confirmed real, well, I feel a little lukewarm about it. I'm not a fan of the main character's design, and the graphics feel... a little washed out? On the other hand, I'm glad to see a new proper Fire Emblem, and it's cool that they're bringing back classic characters (although, I wish we could play as them instead of just having them be partner characters). I'm somewhat interested, but I want to see more. - Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar EclipseThis caught me completely by surprise. I wonder if this is an indication that Maiden of Black Water sold well. Either way, it's great to see that there will finally be an official English version of this. I although I was quite fond of FF5, I've since learned the previous games in the series have much more depressing endings (even the "good" endings), so I'm a little wary of that. Still, I'm interested, and I'll keep an eye on this one. - Xenoblade Chronicles 3 DLC Wave 2I was honestly surprised they showed this in the Direct. I thought it seemed more like the kind of thing they would simply mention on Twitter a day or two before release. I'll talk about this in the Xenoblade Chronicles 3 thread. - Radiant SilvergunSo, this was previously announced to be shown during TGS, but I was still surprised because I wasn't expecting it to be shown in a Nintendo Direct. (From what I've heard, Nintendo previously turned down showing Ikaruga in a Direct.) It seems to be based on the Xbox 360 version from 2011. I'm definitely interested, and I want to support Treasure, but as of this posting, the game seems to have disappeared from the North American eShop. Publisher Live Wire didn't provide details, but says it will return. - The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the KingdomIt's nice we got a proper title and release date, but there was still very little shown, so it doesn't feel like there's much to get excited about other than that the game simply exists. I'm not that interested. Just kidding, of course I am. - Random StuffWas it just me, or was there a ridiculous number of farming RPGs in this Direct? Sony had also scheduled their own State of Play showcase yesterday, and responded to Nintendo's tweet announcing the Direct. - OverallI think this was a pretty good Direct. They showed a lot of big games and reveals, although only a few really appealed to me. Grade: B

OK, I wasn't expecting a Direct to be devoted to this, even if it's only a few minutes long.
