I’m not a 360 console fan but I personally find the 360 controller to be comfortable so I am looking forward to this Wii U pro controller. ......its a 360 controller, reversed. The 360 controller is by far the most comfortable 'traditional' controller this gen. I have absolutely no problem with this. I hope its packed in with the console. Menu looks nice, features look nice, and I'm super glad they got this out of the way so that hopefully the E3 conference can be games, games, games. Also this.

I too hope the Classic Controller Pro is still useable. Or Gamecube controller, because, well, 11+ years of using the same controller for Smash Brothers isn't easily erased. But only for that game, and I'm sure everyone would understand if Nintendo did it just for Smash. EDIT: I'm an idiot

He said it's the most comfortable traditional controller, not the most traditional.
I think this controller looks great. I never got on with the Classic controller for the same reason I could never get on with the Playstation controller - ridiculously unintuitive placement of the primary analog stick.

I never got on with the Classic controller for the same reason I could never get on with the Playstation controller - ridiculously unintuitive placement of the primary analog stick. I'm exactly the same, I've never understood why the Playstation controller is considered the best of all time, using the analogue stick on it is so awkward I always use the d-pad when playing a PSone game (if possible). I find it really awkward to use the d-pad on the 3DS as well for the same reasons. On a control pad your left thumb on the d-pad/control should always be in line horizontally with your right thumb over the face buttons, one thumb should never be lower than the other. The Gamecube controller was about as perfect as a standard gamepad will ever be, I wish they just re-used that design except with the SNES a, b, x, y arrangement (to make it easier to play Virtual Console games).

......its a 360 controller, reversed. What I was going at was the fact that it was reversed. The button-control stick seems uncomfortable, in my opinion. Not only that, but the buttons seem too far away. But I guess there's no way to be sure until I try it myself. I've personally never found the 360's controller that comfortable due to its bulk, but I guess that's what I get for using the Gamecube controller so much. If I end up not liking the WiiU Pro Controller, I'll just get a CCPro. EDIT: Scratch that, I just saw the CCPro and I thought that the left side was Top: Control Stick; Bottom: + pad. Turns out I was wrong, so I'm not interested in it. Bugger. As for the rest of the presentation, I agree with doof. They probably just mentioned this now so to leave more room for mind blowing info for the actual presentation. Which reminds me... So, it seems the actual presentation will be more hardware than software, eh? Or am I missing/forgetting something?

Surely tomorrow's presentation will be the software? They seemed to go out of their way to specify that Nintendo Direct was specifically for the Wii U software. Also how much more of the hardware can they show? Maybe a few specifications, but surely not enough to fill a whole show. I think by 'software showcase' they may mean that's when people at the show get to try it.

Iwata said they showed the Wii U's hardware features on Nintendo Direct so they could just focus on showing us its games at E3... so that's what I'm expecting.

In less than 24 hours, there will be another Nintendo Direct in Japan. It will focus on Wii and 3DS. Probably giving a push to the Fatal Frame 2 remake.

Don't get too excited*, this looks like it's "covering games coming to Nintendo platforms and news on Wii and 3DS. It will focus on 3DS details for Japan that weren't given at E3." * Unless you're from Japan. From NeoGAFND is on at Jun. 22nd at noon in Japan (21 hours, 40 minutes after this post) PS Should just rename this thread the Nintendo Direct thread.
