Some of you might have already seen it, but a trailer dropped alongside the official announcement: Though there isn't a whole lot to make out insofar as character selection is concerned (all the Sonic regulars are there), you do get to see BD Joe back in his Crazy Taxi (seeing that turn into a boat and jet will be a hoot) and Jet Grind Radio Beat in a go-kart. (The fact that it's JGR Beat makes me squeal with giddiness, but I lament the loss of the ballin' car from STTR1.) Also of note is how Robotnik's jet mode puts him into the Egg Pod, for good ole' fashioned Sonic fun. EDiT: If you're attentive, you can spot Vyse in the background! He's onscreen maybe three times and for all of two seconds total. It's really hard to make out, but it's the only screengrab I could obtain reliably. This is Vyse mid-transformation from car to boat; you can tell because of the appropriate color scheme (brown hair, blue jacket, brown pants) and the exposed skin near the shoulders. His vehicle is silver and blue, very reminiscent of the Delphinus.

So, along with the announcement that Sonic has a speaking role in Disney's Wreck-It Ralph, they also announced that the star of the movie is appearing as a playable character in this game.

You know, I can understand why Sega is plopping Wreck-It Ralph in the game, but I'd rather have a Sega character in his place (Don't get me started on Danika Patrick being in the game, either). Still, I'm excited. Sega and Sumo Digital really seem to be going all out to make this a Sega fan's dream, and although I wouldn't admit to being a massive Sega fan, it's stirring even me to be hyped up. I hope there's a Skies of Arcadia course!

Wreck-It Ralph is in the game? Well, it isn't any different from having Banjo-Kazooie in the prequel. I think this makes sense seeing there are a bunch of Sega characters in Wreck-It Ralph compared to only one Nintendo character (thanks a lot Stingytendo). And it also refers to that kart game seen in the movie, Sugar Rush. It would be funny if Wreck-It Ralph was an obscure Sega character in the movie... XD

To be honest, there isn't too much more characters I would actually want in this one. I hope the Bonanza Bros. return, and I hope Ristar gets some actual representation. Maybe Vectorman? Segata Sanshiro?
The decision to make courses for characters that can't get in was genius and helps greatly with stuff like this.

Wreck it Ralph is kinda weird, but neat in a way as now he actually comes across as some forgotten old school videogame character, racing with all the other SEGA has-beens.
Danika Patrick is just plain weird though

So, the Hornet has been found in the game. It's an unlockable. Best part? The plane form is the planet from After burner and the boat... the boat is a Dreamcast controller. Also, DLC confirmed, Decap-Attack and Alex Kidd music found in the game.

I'll admit, Dreamcast controller as a boat looked a lot better than I thought it would. The little outboard motor was nice touch (assuming that is an outboard motor and not some part of the controller that happens to look like one).

That's a pretty awesome variation of Sega franchises for the stages. Likin' that After Burner remix
And I guess I haven't been paying much attention lately because... a TF2 racer? What in the world?

It's the Steam exclusive, like the Mii or Avatar.

Uh oh. Sounds like they didn't bother getting the regular actors for the TF2 characters.
Why didn't they just use the existing voice files? There's plenty of them!

Because the characters aren't done yet. They'll be released sometime next year, with voices proper.

I dunno, recording new voices for them sounds like a lot of work if they're not planning on using them. If those weren't supposed to be the final voices, I don't see why they'd... be there at all. If they needed placeholder voices they'd surely do what Valve do and use some of the multitude of already-recorded dialogue.
Honestly, it doesn't surprise me a whole lot. They cheaped out on Wreck-It Ralph too, by having Vector the Crocodile's VA do... well, Vector the Crocodile's voice for his lines.

Here's the thing, though. The Heavy reuses Ralph's clips and the Pyro is apparently just a Sumo employee mumbling through his hands.
