Quick guideline:
1. Yes, they absolutely have to be game characters. No characters from TV shows (however, I may consider final bosses from TV show based games if that boss was made especially for the game).
2. Don't suggest any first party bosses right now.
3. They should be in some way Halloween-worthy. I'm not entirely sure Big Boss would make a suitable Halloween costume...

OK, so assuming I'm going to do monstrous third party final bosses from the NES, SNES and GB, let's hear some suggestions! I'm currently considering 10 NES, 10 SNES and 10 GB bosses, with a surprise finale on Halloween. I will compile suggestions and narrow them down into a list.

OK, I started putting a list together. I will add to this as I think of more...
Dracula (Castlevania) Psaro the Manslayer (Dragon Quest IV) Jagger Froid (Contra) Gofer (Gradius) Astaroth (Ghosts'n Goblins) Phalanx (Demon's Crest) Lavos (Chrono Trigger) Akuma (Street Fighter) Sigma (Mega Man X) Tomator (Lost Vikings) King Egger (Adventures of Lolo) Parasitis (Abadox) Master D (Bionic Commando) Kefka (Final Fantasy VI) Carat Diamond & Dr. Mook (Super Bomberman) Tanzra (ActRaiser) Baron Von Blubba (Bubble Bobble) Gokuraku Kisin Tei (The Krion Conquest)
I made a couple of removals and substitutions. Going for 1 per series right now.

Ah, I know!
Dr. Tongue from Zombies Ate My Neighbors for SNES. I'm not the only one that remembers this game right?

I have a hard time coming up with GB final bosses that aren't just ported back 'n forth from NES versions. But I guess it's a matter of figuring out which was released first then.
More possible boss lists: - Mana Beast (Secret of Mana) - The Creator (Final Fantasy Legends) - Jaquio's crazy demon form (Ninja Gaiden 1/2) - Flea Queen (Plok) - Bolbox, aka the giant cell with a dong (E.V.O) - Giant Alien Cyber Virus or some shit (Kabuki Quantum Fighter) - Incredibly weak octoboss (Parodius1/2/3)

Ah, I know! Dr. Tongue from Zombies Ate My Neighbors for SNES. I'm not the only one that remembers this game right? Nope. You aren't the only one who played that game. So... uh, how about that goat-like demon Zai from Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa? He steals life forces from the adults and kidnaps babies. Uh, yeah... I've been playing this game lately.

He's not a boss, but Baron von Blubba from Bubble Bobble is iconic and fitting.

More iconic and kind of more fitting for Nintober than lard mage kid for sure As dry out my brain thinking of the obscurest shit, I realize I played a crapton of Snes RPGs in my teen years: - Dark World Master (Monster Party) - Mr.X (Kung Fu) - Alexander (Bahamut Lagoon) - Dhaos' Alien Form (Tales of Phantasia) - Pure Odio (Live a Live) - Four Sinistrals (Lufia II) - Dark Gaia (Terranigma) - Jie's goofy robot suit (Star Ocean) - reconstructed Driscoll (Front Mission) - Giant Alien Zulu lips guy (Ufouria) - Flashy Jedi Person (Mr Gimmick)Yeah that's probably all I can think of without listing the really lame, generic bosses

He's not a boss, but Baron von Blubba from Bubble Bobble is iconic and fitting. What about Dreg the Super Drunk? He tends to be the final boss in many Bubble Bobble (And even Puzzle Bobble/Bust A Move)-games. Though I might also suggest Super Dark Great Dragon from Rainbow Islands and Bubble Memories too...

The Super Drunk is a great choice too, yeah. It would probably lend itself to a funny picture quite easily.

What about Dreg the Super Drunk? I assume that's who 8bit meant by "Lard Mage Kid" I agree Baron Von Blubba is more iconic though, so perhaps I could open it up to other scary things in NES games as well, if I were so inclined
