Haha, you sure are going more fancy with the Namco characters choices, eh Fry?
Nice that my Taikos suggestion gained a bit of following. Kinda unexpetced. XD

Just to be clear, I'm not going to draw everything. That would be mad I'm not a fanboy of these games in the same way I am with Nintendo, and so while I've certainly done some research I tend towards the first heroes in each series, while others may want to pick better known or more interesting characters (e.g. Tales of... series). The chart has been updated again. Another upset - Momo and Valkyrie have climbed even higher! Who'da thunk it?! Not me!

Okay, so looking at that chart, I'll put up 10 that at least look intriguing to me. 1) Lloyd 2) Nightmare 3) Pac Man 4) Taizo Hori Those four I voted for already, so here's the other six: 5) Mappy ( a good fit for your style, methinks) 6) Momo (again) 7) Red Baron (ditto) 8) Gee Bee (for obscurity's sake) 9) Toby "Kissy" Masuyo (I see her panning out for your style) 10) Bravoman (again, a fitting character for your style)
Have fun with these!

Top Ten Namco Characters, TEi Edition! 1// Presea Combatir from Tales of Symphonia 2// Pinky, from Pac Man. Why Pinky? Why NOT Pinky? 3// Klonoa 4// Heihachi from Tekken (he was played by friggin Shang Tsung in the Tekken movie!) 5// Voldo and his massive bulge, from Soul Calibur 6// Jade Curtiss from Tales of the Abyss (or do two separate Tales Of games not count? I figure, as they're set in two different universes...well, whichever. Presea is still my preferred pick of the two.) 7// King of all Cosmos from Katamari Damacy ...aaand that's it! I haven't played very many Namco games.

Poor Kalas, I figured that some of the people here would have been fans of Baten Kaitos. Best RPG on the GameCube without question.

I must admit, I thought Baten Kaitos and Bravoman (given the awesome Shiftylook comic) would have been higher up the list. I'll update da chartz! Edit chart updated!Sorry Tei, I'm counting "Tales of..." as one series. I will be a prick and do the same for Final Fantasy when Square Enix comes around - which will be interesting As I've said to anyone else, if you want to fill out your votes with characters you think would be good for me to draw, you can just pick a bunch from the chart and get some votes up! Also... Reasons for not picking Pinky? New Pac-Man ghost designs. That's one very good reason Quick ResultsAs I'm already working on the next one, the first 5 are looking likely to be: 1. Pac-Man ( done!) 2. Klonoa 3. Taizo Hori 4. Mappy 5. Momo (how did she get this high!?) Lots of cartoony characters in there... I am surprised Tekken and Soul Calibur didn't hit the top 5. Hell, Tekken isn't even in the Top 10! My process for deciding order is: I'm sorting them by most votes for a single character, then by most votes for the series. So while Tekken's most popular character (Heihachi) is tied with, say, the Taikos, the Tekken series has 9 votes total, which pushes it way above Taiko Drum Master. This process seems to be providing some very interesting results! I think whichever company I poll for next I will do before drawing any characters. I'm currently considering Sega or Capcom. If you have any preference either way, let me know!

Little sad here you'll probably skip Cress, him being the main of the game that started it all, but hey whatcha gonna do about it Poor Kalas, I figured that some of the people here would have been fans of Baten Kaitos. Best RPG on the GameCube without question. I was so pumped for that game for the longest time. The english voices for the first western trailer were really good! Rewatched that so many times. Then for some reason they changed the voices, with the same trailer and all. Uninterested VA's sounding all goofy and corny. It immediatly killed all my interest in the games.

Very cool. You did a great job on the hands there! Well-drawn hands always impress me greatly.

That's great, Fry!
If anyone has trouble filling out their list, vote Amul from Dragon Spirit! [/shameless lobbying]
I think the reason Tekken and Soul Calibur aren't higher is because they're fighting games, and they rely more on an ensemble cast. Therefore, everyone will have their own favorite character, and no single character will pull too far ahead.
As I said on Twitter, I prefer Sega characters over Capcom, but I still advocate SNK!

Thanks everyone! Working on the next already SNK I could do at some point in the future. I have a few "big names" I'd like to get out of the way first. The problem is not a lot of people know anyone from SNK's cast, so maybe I'd have to get the ball rolling with some well known options, the fans can chip in with their own, then the rest can pick based on what I should draw. The Hudson issue (brought up on Twitter) is that I can think of 10 franchises with characters worth doing, most of which are Japan-only. They might be roped in if/when I return to Konami. I would have still thought a fighting series would have one or two iconic characters that everyone would want to see. When I get to Capcom, it'd be interesting to see if there's a similar result for their fighters.

Quick note, if you follow me on Twitter here, I occasionally post works in progress and so on. No prizes for guessing who I'm working on right now!

Ooh, I like the lighting in this one. On that note how long does it generally take for you to colour those sketches? You so fast
