So why hasn't anyone done a thread for this game?
Goshers people, I'M LOVING THIS GAME. It's like they honed up the Super Mario 3D Land's formula into something very whimsical and very great (which I was still unsure of working even if I saw potential) while actually managing to do "nostalgia" right. There's plenty of things seen before, but there's also plenty of things that are new.
I think it was about time Mario got to return to his roots in a proper style than NSMB-games have (no offense). And not to mention that Peach and (uniquely functioning) Toad are back? Yeaaahs.

I'll admit, I was a bit surprised seeing the game at first, but now, there's the realisation that "Hey! We finally have a 3D Mario game that supports 4 players! After all these years it's finally happened! And they put Peach in as a playable character! And all the characters ablitlies serve as a callback to SMB2, holy crap!"
Here's a video of possibly all the levels?

Yes, it's all levels, and thanks for linking to a clip that preserves most audio and screen quality.
3D Mario with the SMB2U cast. This alone is selling the system to me.
I hops this game supports D-pad play, because I kept falling off the z-axis in 3D World. And it's good to see this game's camera isn't as bad as 3D Land's, which sometimes looks at the stage as if it's a 2D platformer (which is why I kept falling in the first place).

Look at 1:01 in the E3 trailer- Kuribo's Shoe is finally back in a main game. It's about time, man.
Also, the game is looking good! Much bigger and complex levels than in 3D Land, original (to the series) level gimmicks and a cool new power-up. I'd still like a Sunshine-style game for the Wii-U, but this is damn good too.

Honestly, of all the games shown at E3 2013, this game got me squeeing. I was like "Oh, that's awesome!" with SSB4... but seeing Peach playable for the first time since SMB2, seeing Toad getting his speed back from SMB2 and seeing four players playing as Mario, Luigi, Peach, and Toad at the same time... OMG! I was screaming "YES! YES! YESSSSSS!!!!!"

Whle this game looks great I am a bit disapointed. I was hoping for something bigger and jaw dropping for Mario in HD. A game of epic proportions!
Maybe we'll still get that.

I got to admit that probably the most exciting mechanic I've see so far for this game is not the Cat suit, it ain't the character selection a la SMB2, complete with character pros and cons, and it sure isn't the SM3DL with multiplayer... But the see-through Pipes and how the player interacts with them. I can't really put my finger on why, but it seems fresh to me. And it probably won't be anything huge in the game, and yet still I'm enthralled by them. Meh. Anyway, I'm pretty damn excited about this game. I really enjoyed SM3DL, so I don't see why I wouldn't enjoy this one. I wonder what their excuse/story will be that explains why Peach isn't kidnapped. Bowser got kidnapped by Wart? Waluigi learns magic and dethrones Bowser? Zombies? Because why not... Peach playable for the first time since SMB2 *inner nerd feels the need to be nitpicky* We don't talk about Super Princess Peach 'round these parts, pardner...

I too was hoping for a far more unique twist on 3D Mario, but this'll do fine as well. Already it's looking great. It has more unique bosses; 3D Land having just Boom Boom, Pom Pom, and Bowser all the time got boring so fast. Say, does the control in the clear pipes remind anyone else of Pac-Man? We don't talk about Super Princess Peach 'round these parts, pardner... Yeeeeaah, that game was kind of a complete joke in and of itself.

SPP was a lot way definition of a "fanservice" game: loads of tributes and references, little substance (in means of plot and gameplay).

SPP is... well, it fails at two things: plot (Parry's subplot never ended) and character (I don't want a game that shoves Peach's uncanny mug at the player). As a game, it's actually very good. It feel like Mario with means to attack and exploration - exactly the kind of thing those still crying for Mario 64 should look at. If only it doesn't have that annoying Peach animation at the bottom screen...

In spirit, SPP felt to me like a half-hearted attempt to broaden Nintendo's appeal with female gamers at the time, despite... not needing to. As far as Peach being playable, if you want to get really technical, she's been playable pretty frequently. I definitely can't wait for this game, though. It looks like a much more complete experience than 3D Land, which I thought was pretty interesting to begin with, although a tad bit annoying.

I like Super Princess Peach. |:\
Theory (not really) - 3D World will be about Bowser going off the deep end and kidnapping himself.

At least Peach can use a Fire Flower in 3D World. Which reminds me, if TEi is still around, I want to hear his thoughts on Peach being fully playable in this game. Anyway, I wonder what the story approach will be this time. Bowser's still there, but we'll see.

Super Princess Peach was a great game on its own merits. It is just that the storyline was pointless... especially Parry... why did Nintendo give Parry an origin story if the ending didn't even turn Parry back to normal? I thought I was going to turn Parry back to normal by the end of the game but it never happened... and we haven't heard from Parry since then... Nintendo needs to make Super Princess Peach 2 for the 3DS with Peach, Daisy, Rosalina, and Pauline as playable characters in four-player action! I just cannot get enough of Mario platformer games.
