Today's blog post is a fighter showcase video for Chrom. Reconfirming that he's an Echo of Roy, with Awakening Aether as his Final Smash.

For the first time, a Super Smash Bros. song that comes from a mobile game. Nice way to welcome newer generations of Fire Emblem players.

Sorry for my absence this past couple of weeks, real life got in the way. I'll be updating the first post tomorrow (September 3) evening (my time) with the last two weeks of updates.

New arrangement of Fortress Boss (Super Mario Bros. 3).
By the way, I hope you all already listened to the song in Bowser's character video. Both of them make me hope he still gets a well deserved stage.

Hey, so I know it's been a while since I've been on, and by extension updated this thread. Life gets in the way a fair bit, so I haven't had time to say anything. Don't think I forgot about the updates to the Dojo, though - I did see that Isabelle is in the game, as well as Incineroar. Opinion piece: I don't know what to make of Isabelle since I'm not much of an Animal Crossing fan, but for Incineroar, I'm a bit nettled that they went for him. Decidueye is better. But I think all of that is made up for with character 70. For those of you who knew me since I joined Smash Bros. Online, I think we all know where I'm going with this. A generic Mario enemy, and a flower pot. Piranha Plant has opened the gates, people, and I think I'm justified in suggesting what I'm about to suggest. Wiggler and Diglett for Smash 5. I will be vindicated!
[/humor]
Jokes notwithstanding, I do feel a certain attachment to the playable Piranha Plant. Out of left field? Sure. But it's exactly doofy enough for my taste and, joke notwithstanding, I do feel a certain sense of...I guess the best description would be a nostalgic vindication? Like a kid who learned that dragons don't exist years before discovering the magic that is dinosaurs, or that unicorns aren't real, but then learns that rhinos are related to horses so haha, no, unicorns totally exist and they're even cooler than you thought because they're actually rhinos. I'm gonna main it.

Hah, both me and Johans immediately thought of your take on Diglett when we saw a potted plant was going to be playable in Smash.
Sakurai really did read SBO, it seems. I even got my carbon copy of Samus, Dark Samus.

SBO was one hell of a place. Even that roster had tons of FE characters.

It's an old, now-defunct fan-site that a good chunk of the active community here used to be members of. Johans, Leon, Shadrio, Parrothead, myself...there's probably more that I'm not thinking of right now, but anyways. The concept was basically submitting ideas for the next Smash Bros. game (at the time, Brawl had yet to be announced,) with approved content being added to a topsite. The first link in my signature is to my successor, which...let's just say isn't as active as SBO was. Though it does better than the other group that came of it, in that it's been online consistently since opening now 13 years ago.
I feel old. Let's talk Smash Bros. Dojo.
So I missed the Direct, were Spirits announced there? And if so, what do we know about Spirit Battles from there?

Yeah Spirits were announced there, and they mean EVERYONE IS HERE!On the weekend Sakurai showed off some special battles at an event in Japan. He showed a battle against Tatanga from Super Mario Land, which was essentially a battle against Morton with Superscopes spawned by default on the Galaxy stage. It's not a whole lot, but I appreciate the effort.
