Peh, perhaps that's a bit too strong a term to apply. But it's an expression, no less, mind you. But Christ, Underwear. What is it that you have against everyone here anyway? It seems like everytime anyone posts something, you just have to go right in to mock them.

Well if you think about it, Mario was created in the 80's and was popular in the media from then up into the early 90's (and is still but not as prominate in the media)
Pikachu/Pokemon started out in the late 90's like a fad (but not a fad because it didn't die down but it's the closest word to describe it) and even then was still hugely popular (even today) when the "fad" died down.
As you can see different era's experienced the two and since most of us grew up around Mario we have that knowledge about him.
Well it's something like that.

Have fun. But Christ, Underwear. What is it that you have against everyone here anyway? It seems like everytime anyone posts something, you just have to go right in to mock them. Intelligence will not be mocked. I'd keep that in mind Sorry I'm too cool for elitism. I lastly predict that more people here will have half a mind to realize that Underwear is just being a.......bah, forget it. Nothing against the guy, really. Just that he comes off sounding in so much of a negative manner in response to most things. Not everyone here is an oh-so-superintelligent supercomputer. Even if you are one, it doesn't give you any more right to act like this.

It's not difficult to stop, rewind, and take another look at what you're about to post. It's not difficult to work out if people will be interested in what you're about to post. It's not difficult to work out whether you are going to sound stupid, or over-excited about something pointless and trivial.
If you fail at all of these, then you are opening yourself to the mockery of others. Not just on this forum - not just on the internet - but in any social situation.
DiU is being unfairly painted as the problem by yourself and a handful of other posters. And that is bollocks. He has always mocked those who say stupid things, and he is correct to do so. The problem is that people are saying more and more stupid things and opening themselves to mockery.
This forum has lost its way in the last couple of years. Once viewed as somewhere you could discuss Nintendo games without having to sift through ludicrous and pointless posts and inane drivel, or being branded a "n00b" for no reason... we have a tiny handful of active threads and a lot of pointless fanwankery.
Even I can't be bothered to post all that often any more.

To tell the truth, I haven't been that tempted to post that much either...
What's going on, is it...is it the apocalypse?

The problem is that people are saying more and more stupid things and opening themselves to mockery. I have always felt that the mockery of others is uncalled for. What's considered saying "stupid things" or what is "pointless and trivial" is purely opinionated. I think things could be handled better. I often find a shove will equal punch on these forums...

I don't know what "shove will equal punch" means...
The stupidity of a post is not a matter of opinion. Stupidity can be boiled down into illogical or inane. Illogical posts are clearly stupid, and inane ones can be considered stupid (depending on how inane it is).
There's been a steady rise in illogical posts, as well as a steady rise in the inanity of posts around here.

It means someone gives you a little shove, and you give them a huge slug back.
We're so ready to polish our brass knuckles, we don't know if those shoves were just a pat on the back. Which is next point, you don't always know the true intention of the post. Sometimes things can come off worse then they are meant to be. But an insult, is an insult. You can't mistaken that.
We're all guilty of this. We're like drunken men, "What did you say about my mother?!" *smack*

Koopaul....just... just listen to Fry, OK? He's not wrong. All that ever goes on around here is either borderline spamming or debates over things some people take far too seriously for their own good.
I learned a long time ago that it doesn't pay to be butthurt over something as trivial as a message you posted on a forum about a video game company and it's brands.
