Conker 64? Never heard of it. I always thought Conker, like Banjo, was just plucked from the Diddy Kong Racing line-up to star in their own game, with them both moving to very funny, but different ends-of-the-scale games.

Are you being serious that you never heard of the N64 Conker game?
The game where cute squirrels get shot, blasted and electrocuted to death. Where a giant mound of fecal matter sings opera to you. Where you shoot zombies with a laser-sight rifle. Where everything swears at you all the time.
It was great stuff - the Xbox version is the exact same game (with minor gameplay tweaks) visually upgraded with an on-line multiplayer mode. Provided you were being serious, then I'd suggest finding a copy of "Conker's BFD" to play through (provided you don't mind the swearing, sexual references and violence). But, it seems I can't tell when you're joking, so if you were, then please ignore all of this...
;D

I think he was talking about Conker 64, the cute platformer that Rare were originally making. That game was cancelled, but elements of it made their way into the Windy area of Conker's BFD.

Then I wish for you all the completely ignore my last post. Much obliged (I knew it didn't make sense that DIU hadn't heard of BFD before, so I was reluctant to interpret it that way). ;D

Yep. Precisely. Hadn't heard of Conker 64, had heard of BFD. Never played it though - if (though it now seems like when) I get an Xbox 360, I plan to grab the Xbox remake of it.

I was never interested in Conker's BFD. It always looked sorta stupid to me. And I never hear people talk about the gameplay, so that always worried me.

I thought the gameplay was quite fun - the zombie level is my favourite - zombies are cool! ;D
Actually, the war level was pretty good too - lots of action.
Sure, it wasn't the best game ever, but I liked playing it... and so did a lot of other people...

Conker's BFD was one of my favourite N64 games. The gameplay wasn't perfect, but it did the job required. It's one of the few games where humour is PART of the game, rather than just something written in over the top.
As for Conker and Banjo... they were both announced BEFORE Diddy Kong Racing, but DKR was the first one to be released. I think Conker and Banjo were included because the other two games were announced and coming out of their own accord.
Of course, Conker 64 was a cutesy platformer that got cancelled and turned into a foul-mouthed platformer... but it's all good. Play the GBC game if you want to know how stupid Conker 64 could have been.

A few days before Banjo Kazooie came out, I got a tape (about Banjo-kazooie) talking about the game and its levels. At the end of the video, it showed other games for the N64, and a clip of Conker 64 (or Twelve tales of Conker's Quest) was shown. It looked pretty cool, him dressed as a spartan and running across a collapsing bridge. I was excited at least.

But also Conker 64 was being delayed. Development started in 1997, it changed in 2000, and was released in early 2001.

I think Conker and Banjo were included because the other two games were announced and coming out of their own accord. Oh, really? Wow, you learn something new everyday. They should make a new game with Wizpig and that Rooster who got changed into a frog (I forgot his name). Except it would be on X360, so why am I bringing it up here? To answer my own question, I don't know. Uh oh, I think I just went crazy.

There were rumours that the entire cast of DKR were going to get games of their own, but that doesn't seem likely. I mean, technically DKR was about Timber story-wise... I think they just threw Diddy in to help sales. And Tiptup appeared in Banjo-Kazooie somewhere, I think. It's been a while since I played it, though.

DKR was good but Donkey Kong Racing looked to be even better...until it got cancelled!
I wonder if it'll be resurrected for the Revolution.
Back on topic, I hope revolution lives up to it's name otherwise I can see a lot of playstation and x-box laghing at nintendo if it flops.

Well, on what Sqrt2 said, I hope the Rev is a successs too!
On account of my recent limiting of gameplay due to numerous reasons, I only really have the time and funds for a certain number of games, and I get bored of mainstream games very fast.
So... I guess if Nintendo goes out ever, I'll probably go out with them - to be honest, there is little in terms of third party games that interest me personally (that's my opinion only, so I respect everyone else's), so without the "Big N", there wouldn't be much for me.
I guess I'd play old games - I do like old games.
I'm blabbing... apologies... my exams are over... ;D

It can take a couple of weeks for the "essay effect" to wear off after exams. In my case it never wore off I would expect Nintendo to go third-party rather than disappear off the face of the earth... in which case I'll probably end up spending money on whichever console they support and continuing. A third-party Nintendo could end up being very expensive for me.
