Indeed, it could be, especailly if they do what some third parties are doing now and develop certain franchise for only specific consoles. Geez, imagine how much it would cost If you have to buy a PS7 for Mario, an XBOX1080 for Zelda, etc, etc.

If they ever decided to break away from console manufacturing, I wouldn't be surprised if they were snatched up by one of the other console manufacturers.
In fact, I'm kind of surprised Sega didn't go the same way.

I don't know why Sega quit... You know, its consoles are better than Sony's craps!

Oh, I have no Xbox, and am currently thinking of leaving Windows. I don't hate MS as much as Sony though. All Sony did was making craps that depreciates sooooo fast but charges an expensive price. I don't know why are people keen on PS's, Sony DVs and their TVs. Monitors as well.

It's remarkable Nintendo ONLY makes games and not other electronics.

Not really. Nintendo started as a toy manufacturer who branched into games as a logical extension of entertainment. The same is true of Sega (pinball machine manufacturer) and other major development companies, like Namco (kiddie-ride manufacturer).
Sony and Microsoft, on the other hand, started in different markets altogether... with Sony branching in from electronics and Microsoft from home computers.
As such, their priorities are different.
