Ha, you might be on to something there Fryguy! ;D That witch - isn't she one of Ganondorf's minions from OoT? And those wiches do look a lot like Ganondorf... so perhaps... Tingle is... somehow related to Ganondorf! Or, absolutely most positively NOT! ;D But yeah, that guy is the one I was talking about Fryguy - so Tingle's father is an ordinary guy. Hey, so how then does TIngle appear in games that occur hundreds of years after MM? Is the WW the actual Tingle, or some sort of cult follower? It's all to strange and sordid... ;D

The same question could be asked with Link and Zelda, and even some other characters (Malon appears in OoT and TMC). Its probably something along the lines of: Tingle gives birth, raises his son to be exactly like him. His son has a son, whom he raises to be exactly like him, etc, etc. Which brings up a more interesting point - which female Zelda character is dumb enough to have a child with Tingle?

Or has genes that are recessive enough to allow each generation to look exactly like the father?

I think perhaps to make any sense of Hyrule history we have to accept that history is trapped in some kind of loop. Tingle in MM looks older than in TWW, even though MM takes place long before TWW. But it also takes place in an alternate dimension.
So Tingle could be a dimension hopping madman. Considering his constant travels to map the land it wouldn't be much of a surprise if he came across a number of time/space warps, much like those Link ends up using.
But it all gets a bit confusing, so I may have to go and have a lie down.
