Will Tingle be in the new Zelda game? Maybe... but in a very underplayed role... but perhaps not at all. Eiji Aonuma is reluctant to say, because some Americans despise him so much.
This leads to the darkest moment in Nintendo Database history, where Tingle embodies the true spirit of the website... as opposed to IGN (who have campaigned to see Tingle destroyed), who I desire not to be like in any way.
I lament the loss... with a poem:
I first shot you from the skies Above old busy Clock Town You waved like a maniac in the air Before you came tumbling down
As your legs cracked on the ground You let out an aged whimper You sold me maps at a bargain price And said to me: Kooloo Limpah
You read my maps on Hyrule ocean You entertained me in Tingle Tower I never stole your magic words But your loss leaves me sour
Gone are the days of dancing men in a one-piece green body suit Never again will I know one like you I'll miss you, you crazy old fruit.

Oh, happy day! Oh, happy day! ;D Dang, you beat me to it. I just saw the story over on IGN (I think I'll put a link to it in my Zelda '05 thread... ), and was thrilled! Heh. I'm just messing with you though. ;D Honestly, Tingle always confused and scared me, and I didn't (and still don't) like him being in Zelda games... But, nnot he may be gone! Although, I can't believe they were going to include him maybe? I mean, what is this guy? He can apppear in ANY time period in the Zelda series and look exactly the same? Madness I tell ye, madness! ;D (All said in good humour, but I seriously do find the character, for lack of a better word, "wrong"...)

I don't really like Tingle, but since he's already a "long-time" Zelda character (I mean, he appears in many games!) I don't think the removal of him is up to any good.

Come on! A short, middle-aged, and desperately ugly man, dressed in a bright green body stocking, believing he's a Kokiri, spouting bizarre words and dancing in a strange way?!
WHAT'S NOT TO LOVE!?

Because he is short, middle-aged, desperately ugly, being dressed in a bright green body stocking, believing he's a Kokiri, spouting bizarre words and dancing in a strange way At least that's what I believe Americans who despite him think.

Tiingle was okay, but the visual cancer he would have wreaked by being so realistically created would have been disastrous.

I don't have a problem with Tingle... but I'm glad about this. The thought of seeing him styled realistically was scaring the Jebus outta me. Just like it did in MM. I can stand to look at TWW-styled Tingle.

To commemorate this dark day, I have put up a splash image. As I said in today's news post, never again shall we be so entertained and terrified at the same time by a videogame character. A truly magnificent specimin of Eiji Aonuma's genius and creativity.

I'm with TrustTheFungus on this one - in WW Tingle was cartoony and tolerable, but the MM version... (I dreaded having to talk to him to buy maps!)
And so, a realistic version... I mean, can you imagine a realistic version? *shudders*

never again shall we be so entertained and terrified at the same time by a videogame character. Clearly you have not met the King of the Cosmos.

To commemorate this dark day, I have put up a splash image. Nothing has been confirmed (Or was it?) so you can't say "Tingle is dead". Perhaps he'll make an appeareance again...

My hopes of realistic Tingle playing a major part in the realistic Zelda have been dashed. Perhaps he is not dead in body, but if Aonuma-san is willing to cut his role or the character completely then we can safely say the spirit of Tingle is truly dead.
