Footage of one way to battle Robo Hook. Pete Pan is hilarious. I wonder what Hook is doing in the wasteland period? He's not forgotten, like Oswald or the Lonesome Ghosts, he's not rejected, like the early designs of Clarabelle and Horace, and he's retired, like Smee. EDIT: Turns out Smee is a rejected version- the stripes on his shirt and the color of his hat are reversed. Seriously. I guess that makes sense to use concept art as a way of sticking in non-forgotten characters, but gosh. That's almost cheating.

The Halo fanbase is, by and large, fucking retarded. This isn't any fair to the Halo fanbase, though, since almost every fandom is composed of people who are late for class. Nintendo franchises aren't excluded from this, and I know many of you are aware of this, but I feel like it's a card worth playing - and we are all familiar with one gaming community or another that almost goes out of their way to spazz out over the dumbest things related to their game of choice. Fans being obnoxious is just something fans do. This is very true. Thing is, I would mark the Halo and Call of Duty fandom as being paraticularly bad, main stream examples. It's just due to their multiplayer popularity, really. It attracts twelve year old douches on Live. It's no Sonic fandom, but it's more likely you'll run into a Halo fag than a Sonic fag- and more likely you'll be told to fuck off too. Agreed on GTAIV. I couldn't get into it because I went to the GTA series for over the top, almost parodic fun. GTAIV was just too real. It's not bad, and did a lot of things best in the series. But it just wasn't GTA.

The Halo fanbase is, by and large, fucking retarded. The game itself is a fun, if somewhat now bland, FPS. I love the single players in 2 and 3, though. Not much of a multiplayer gamer, so that falls flat to me. That's the main reason I don't like 1 at all- the single player was shit, after all.

I'm going to be the third party here and ask you two to kindly shut up before this gets any stupider.

I would wager they are the main antagonists in one world. It looks like a bunch of levels involve chasing their train and then the bananas in transit.
Which is rad! That much consistency in concept between levels in a platformer is unheard of.

Wow. I've never heard of that game. As a fan of DK3, it looks pretty cool.

That IS what's so grand about it. It's a minimalist approach to gaming. You're given the bare basics of story, and the rest of the game is spent on deconstructing the heroic quest and boss battles.
I'd call the game an art game, had pretentious indie shit not ruined that term. As it stands, it's not your typical game, so one shouldn't go into it expecting a Zelda clone or something of that sort.

The moles remind me of Hard Hat from Donkey Kong Land, like, a lot. I wonder if that is intentional? The frogs make me think of Jungle Beat as well.

Did me too. Makes me wonder about Rotom... Could it represent a modern Tsukumagami? In addition to the almost-obvious-but-not-quite Pulseman reference, of course.

I actually feel proud of my article about Shuppet and Bannete now- I hit almost all the major notes aside from the bit about Shuppets living under eeves. Coulda put in the stuff about the doll funeral and the HGSS Banette. Oh well, there's always time for editing my .doc!
It goes without saying that that was an excellent piece, BTW.
