Sonic with a SmashBall = Unbalanced, Wolf with a smash ball = Unbalanced
Snake, different gameplay style although hardly unbalanced
The lack of wavedashing,, L-canceling = BALANCED!!! thank god
although there is a technique for emulating the L cancel yet it's more balanced, called the Hop cancel ( I made the name up, but the theory is there)

I have, many times, but the problem is the jobs I want to do need to be local, and the departments I want to work with I believe are located in the Redmond HQ. I'm on the opposite side of the land of liberty. Unless localization teams are in the New York HQ, then I might reconsider sometime. And Fry, if America sucks how come we get all the good games first? Just a question, when you mentioned localization, does it mean editing their games for a specific region?, and does it include programming?

The graphics and game play of brawl has spoiled me to such an extent that it hurts my eyes just looking at the graphics of Melee, although Brawl seems lacking in the "classic" trophy section.
Soundtrack is over 9000

The fact that the Mario universe is impossible to theorize makes the games a lot more fun. So you're striving to make them boring, or what? Nope, I actually prefer it being simple, and enjoyable, characters like Mario,Wario,Peach, having their powers for no reason was a breath of fresh air, from the Marvel forums. Blame the stupid star children bit, that yoshi's island DS brought up! People and animals in the Mushroom World can have superpowers. It's not that hard to believe. Yeah, no doub't about it, but why the hell do people think that being a star child gives the Mariobros their powers!?( I thought most of you would know about the star child bit, but it's a good thing you guys don't, because it's complete trash) I personally think they don't. It's just some other "Mariologists" from other forums,(the utter fanboys) seem to imply this at a great extent!, plus Mario and etc were originally supposed to display these powers without any backstory, as seen in the earlier games prior to Yoshi's Island DS

Huh. I didn't know that aspect of SML2/ As for Kamek's comment, it doesn't really change anything. Power doesn't have to be a physical "Ahm chargin' mai lazah!" kind. Peach, Bowser & Donkey Kong hold power over their lands. Wario has pure brute strength to the point of semi invulnerability. Mario and Luigi have both physical power and metaphoric: They've beaten God knows how many of Bowser/Smithy/ Cackletta/ etc.'s armies and their major celebrities in most kingdoms, as M&L demonstrated. You've got me on how this could apply to Yoshi. Of course, this is all fanon BS. Sure is fun though, isn't it? The point is, your' saying that Mario, etc has powers without being a star child?, if so then sweet!!, but again i would like to believe so, alas there is another description: "In the game, Bowser travels back in time to steal the stars from these children to take over the universe" , why would he need the stars to take over the universe? it means the stars do give power....

The Pokemon Anime is not Canon, Ash ketchum? the storyline is completely different from the official Nintendo Pokemon videogame plus VIZ media?, i don't think so, as for Kirby perhaps, no comment there( I haven't watched it). The Pokémon anime heavily influences the whole Pokémon franchise. One word for the most obvious influence: Pikachu, that is the star of multiple games. The story has many differences to the games, but they also share many commons. The anime series and the games are intrinsically tied to each other. The story for the Kirby anime series is even more different from the game stories. But it influenced the Kirby games as well. Fire Lion's new design, anime music in Air Ride, Spear Waddle Dees in Canvas Curse/Power Paintbrush, Dedede's castle in Squeak Squad/Mouse Attack, to name some examples. But how did those American cartoons, comics and that weird movie influence the Mario series? I'm afraid that it didn't do in (almost) any way. True True, but in my opinion the differences of the pokemon anime, to the videogame far outweighs the similarities: One, Ash is completely different to Red in personality and in skill, Two: Misty never is associated with Red/Ash in the video game, despite that yellow version is a direct base to the anime, three Red appearing in the next game Gold/silver as the final boss, as of Ash has yet to even defeat the Pokemon league challenge Same as in Dragonball: Dragonball GT is already considered non Canon, despite the similarities to its predecessors.

I figured they were simply the chosen few of teh Star Spirits from the Mario RPGs. All were destined for great things: Peach and Bowser for their respective Kingdoms. Mario & Luigi to save the Mushroom Kingdom countless times. DK to be the hero of DK Island. Yoshi to assist Mario in saving Dinosaur Island. And Wario for whatever it is he does... On a side note, did you list hypnosis for Wario based on the commercial for Wario Land? If so, that's incredibly awesome! Yeah:D , but apparently Wario was able to cast a spell that "mind controlled" the citizens of Mario land, thats why I originally listed Hypnosis as an attribute!, but yeah the commercial was awesome! And for your comment on "All were destined for great things" that is a good explanation, although Kamek's description was: "an extraordinary amount of power." regarding the star children

I agree with you, but what about the stuff made by Nintendo power, that I'm not so sure I am. It's not canon. It's just officially licensed fanfiction. Just ask yourself - is it likely anybody on the original game design team is going to use the information in their later games? That's why the Pokemon and Kirby animes are canon, but the American Mario and Zelda cartoons are not. That's why the Origin of Samus comic is canon, but the comics in Nintendo Power are not. The Pokemon Anime is not Canon, Ash ketchum? the storyline is completely different from the official Nintendo Pokemon videogame plus VIZ media?, i don't think so, as for Kirby perhaps, no comment there( I haven't watched it).

Now that we are on this, let me share a hunch I had... I suspect the Koopalings are not considered Bowser children´s in Japan . Its there some place in a game, manual or any other Japanese official source were they are called Bowser Childrens? I think they in Japan are just Koopas that are similar in appearance to Bowser and were high ranking officials in SMB3 and SMW. Think of it, They had no names originally in Japan, being Bowser children's could easily be something that NOA made (as they made many changes like that back in the day), as it was something that was mostly featured in the cartoons, Comics and other materials OUTSIDE the games. This would also explain Bowser Jr. and why Bowser is bunch a better father to him, since the other 7 guys were never his sons. When I was young, I've always thought the koopalings were bowser's super bodyguards or sumthin
