I think the relationships are largely the same in Japan as they are in the States. Bowser is definitely more in it for love than power in the Japanese concept of the characters, but it's not like the rest of the world doesn't see it either. The only MAJOR differences I can call to mind? -Yoshi is a hermaphrodite, Birdo is definitely a crossdresser (named "Catherine") -The original Toad is separate from the other Toads, though they are all still called "Kinopios." There's no real confusion over that. -Kamek is not named any differently than the other Magikoopas, who are all called "Kameks." -The Koopalings, originally, were nameless. -King, Kaptain, and Baron K. Rool are all brothers (as we all infamously know from the Brawl trophies >.>) -The current Donkey Kong is occasionally known as "Super Donkey Kong" to differentiate him from the original. He is definitely at least Cranky's descendant over there; there's no confusion. -Captain Syrup is known as "Maple." -Waluigi and Wario are origin-less and don't necessarily need origins. The least they've done is assume that Wario and Mario used to be pals. The two "evil plumbers" are not related. -Mario and Luigi are NOT plumbers. They are men with various odd-jobs. Is the information listed above exclusive for the Japanese version or the US or both? and yeah I agree that even we notice the different Bowser Peach relationship between japan and the US, but I just wanna know if it applies to the not so popular characters,( Compared to Mario respectively) possible couples like: Daisy and Luigi, and Mutual interested pairings like Mona and Wario( one of the few pairings that blew my mind when discovered!). I just wanna focus towards the relationships because japan has a think with giving characters romantic backgrounds for no reason, same with the US, although it depends on the situation. As for the birth information of the characters, i think we could drop the topic, because it wouldn't really matter anyway unless Nintendo decides to use it for a certain plot line.. And isn't Captain Syrup's first name Maple already?

Does anyone think that character relationships in the Marioverse differ when filtered out from Japan to the other regions? Here's one: Bowser and Peach: In japan, it is said that the reason why bowser kidnapps Peach, is in order to win her heart, while in america, it's because he wants to rule the mushroom kingdom ( this is already proven both reasons are the cause, but I've only used this for an example) More Possible ones: Daisy and Luigi: In japan do you think NoJ is promoting their relationship, compared to what NoA has portrayed? Wario and Waluigi: Does NoJ consider them brothers/ cousins, while NoA consider them as aquaintances? Mario and Wario: In NoJ, is Wario merely a doppleganger? , In NoA is Wario related to Mario? Mona and Wario: same as daisy and Luigi, in NoA the Warioware website and game manuals hints of a relationship, but what about NoJ towards this? Princess Peach and Mario: In NoA are they practically considered a couple?, while in NoJ are they just friends? Yeah thats about it, I was just wondering because I have a the japanese manuals of Warioware Mega Party Game$, and Super Princess Peach. And in the jap version of super princess peach she's portrayed as a friend more than a girlfriend( well thats just my opinion, based on the images) Just to put it simple: Are character relationships in Japan and in America different? Also is anyone here in this community japanese?, i seriously need a translator for my jap manuals... Ps: yeah you peeps may notice I've been creating threads based on the spirit of the characters lately, but hey I'm a character fan, who loves seeing character development!

In Rhythm Tengoku (GBA), alien beings from the WarioWare series make a cameo appearance. The Alien Bunnies have to dance, I don't know all situations, but at least in the Remix 7. Rhythm Tengoku Remix 7 (1:14) Therefore, two Rhythm Tengoku cameos are included in the newer game WarioWare: Smooth Moves (Wii). The first one is in Young Cricket's story. When Manager Joe, Mona and her friends are shown the first time, you can briefly see Dancing Monkeys from RT, next to Mona's animals. WarioWare: Smooth Moves Young Cricket (0:57) Another cameo of the Dancing Monkeys can be seen in the story of 9-Volt & 18-Volt: When 18-Volt is inside the Toy Express in order to search a new Game & Watch for 9-Volt, monkey dolls are seen in the background. WarioWare: Smooth Moves 9-Volt & 18-Volt (1:04) The Cameo Master File already lists a Rhythm Tengoku cameo, "Play-yan Man". I don't know if this is already about the Alien Bunnies, dunno what "Play-yan Man" is. Wait Wait Wait, are the space bunnies from Warioware or Rythm Tengoku? And as for the monkey's appearing in Young cricket's story, I've always thought they were mona's animal 4.1 and 4.2 with a different design, no wonder....

Why didn't I check out this thread earlier!?, the stuff listed here are pure gold!! Seriously? ^____^ Yes!! you managed to combine the best of each game and turn them into a colorful whirlwind of sweet sensation made out of candy!, hmm i spend a lot of time processing all the great stuff you made here. Oh yeah btw It's a nice touch you included some Warioware characters, they need more love, and the DK troop as well, plus characters like Stanley, Tatanga, Pauline, and Syrup!,oh yeah thats some great input! and lastly Mona as a character? not bad, not bad at all "Raw girl power" nice description you gave her!, kinda funny yet nice nonetheless , plus the unicorn hat, a "female version of Wario's bull pot, excellent!" It's awesome too know you had lots of time to do this, wow i wish I had that time...

Well, It's good to see people appreciating game manuals, until today.
But what I really want to know, if you peeps agree/ disagree that without the game manuals, we would not know the important story lines of the games?, some exceptions to this include pokemon ( prof oak gives an introduction thats why, but I'm referring to some game like Super Mario Land, where the game play does not have plot info whatsoever, unless the game manual for that specific game is read)

Captain Syrup is back? Its about time! There's hoping she appears in Mario Tennis Wii. they must first exhaust all the Kongs Mi lord that phrase alone seems.... "exhaust all the kongs", hehe well Im hoping as well they use captain syrup, for future spin offs, with the addition of Warioware characters. And for the release dates, reasonable enough although the wait is still killer

Let me begin by explaining how I got this topic in a classic game manual way, My diary: I was in the loo doing a number 2, and i happened to find a game manual, just lying nearby so i decided to read it (i need reading material) that after an idea sparked in my head, "cool!!,game manuals really add an in depth plot line to the story. So I am asking what would it be like to have the game, but lack the game manual?".
Well there, I just wanted to see what you guys would think, if we didn't have game manuals explaining the plot, yeah this topic is kinda confusing, so let me give some examples:
Without the Manual would we ba able to:
Wario land 4: Princess Shokora's name ( would we ever know her name without the manual, her name is not even on the official Wariol and 4 website)
Super Mario Land 6 golden coins: Wario's goal, and link to SML (Wario hired the alien tatanga for the greater purpose of taking over Mario's Castle, only explained in the game manual)
Warioware Inc: Early character description and personalities towards/ against Wario only in the game manual)
Super Mario Land: The name of the invader Tatanga ( never revealed in the game, only in the manual)
As we see in the examples listed above, we would never know the names of some enemies/ allies, and additional plot during the earlier games, if it weren't for the game manual!! so support the video game industry and don't buy pirated games ( NO MANUAL INCLUDED in pirated stuff)
Okay peeps any additional information anyone would like to add towards the importance of game manuals?, asides from cd keys, etc?
