Uh-huh... and at what point did this become official? I don't rightly recall Nintendo being in the habit of releasing concept art before formally announcing a big release.

I mean, the explanation that this is Pit "all grown up with a curse placed on him for a crime that is tattooed on his arm"... I seem to recall seeing something like this EVERY May. It made more sense when E3 was a big deal... But these Kid Icarus things get more elaborate each time.
The Pit in Brawl was almost perfect - he runs like an excitable child, but was graceful in the air and with his bow. He embodied that character perfectly. I can just about imagine THAT Pit using credit cards and fighting dancing reapers to crazy music.
But emo Pit just isn't working for me.
Wait... Factor 5 also made Lair, right? Wasn't that a pile of shit?

The goatee one is beyond bad, but I think those muscular Conan the barbarian Pit designs are kinda neat. So these aren't official?
Though I'd rather have Pit be in Brawl style like pretty much everybody else and have those old goofy enemies show up in colorful 3D instead of some dark gritty Kid Icarus game where the Grim Reaper is seen impaling Pit's angel comrades or some other Xtreme Hardcore shit.
Still not having too much trust in this until I see a movie, probably at E3.

The Brawl Pit was perfect, it was anime-ish somewhat but still fit the Greek theme. Blagh, I can't believe I'm saying this but I hope this isn't true if this is the only way we're getting a new KI.
Now, I do want a KI3 with Pit being a kid and such.

Well, those fake GBA screens from a few years back were perfect! Cartoony, and they looked like they could be a brilliant adaption of the original formula.
I mean, Metroid 1+2, Zelda 1+2... they were experiments, laying the foundations, while Super Metroid and ALttP were formative moments in those series... developing the original ideas to the next stage.
Kid Icarus never had a next stage... OMaM was good, and improved on the original formula, but to suddenly leap from those classic cartoony titles to a 3D emo fest after 15 years seems too huge a step. Especially after Brawl brought Pit back from the dead!!

Not sure how real theses are. Doesn't seem like anyone likes them (if it were a real game, they would have more surveys and focus groups and find out this was not what the fans wanted). Plus, when has Nintendo every let a big game like this slip. I'm doubting it.

 This is the best of the concept designs... And is it any wonder?  It pretty near matches Pit's Brawl design. Actually, these might've been the Pit concept art that eventually lead to Brawl's design for him. |

I seriously doubt that. Pit wasn't actually updated THAT much from his original design - just fleshed out and given spiky hair and a fancier bow. Oh, and the shorts. These designs are almost certainly fan creations. Don't forget... Pit's been known about for a VERY long time in Brawl. The artist who did these drawings is quite talented... but I also hope he's not working for any video game developers  |

These are all craptastically awful. Ugh... Thank god it's all poor fan suggestions. Remember when folks did this stuff LAST time? ;p
If they make a new Kid Icarus (which they won't) it will just be like the old games, with the Brawl model. That's where I stand as of now. I have my ideas, you guys have your ideas, and Nintendo has their "shove it out the door" ideas for lesser franchises xp
