Serebii.net has a heck of a lot info on Pokemon Platinum.
There even appears to be an email feature that can be linked to your own email accoint. Here's some stuff copyed and pasted from the site.
* The start of the game runs differently with quicker confrontations with the Rival & Professor Rowan in Route 201 and Lake Verity
* I forgot to note this earlier with the last scans on Thursday, but the police officer is codenamed "Handsome". CoroCoro questions whether he's actually working for Team Galactic or actually hunting them down
* The Battle Tower makes the return, pretty much identical to it's running in Diamond & Pearl; Sets of 7, try to get a streak
* The Battle Factory returns in Sinnoh, working in the same manner as Emerald. Select three Pokémon at the start of battle, all rentals
* Over the GTS's new Global Terminal, it appears you can send some sort of mail to various people, possibly to your friends and maybe even to random people.
* There are several games to be found in the new WiFi room for you to play with your friends. These include Merry Mime Jr. where you control Mime Jr. on a ball the longest, Rapid Wobbuffet and the aforementioned Swalot game
* Confirmation of the sihlouettes was also included. What they are will be more than likely revealed next month.
There also are shows of various Battle Frontier areas including one where you seem to select from cards which determine various aspects of the battle.
Today, the official site updated with the contents of CoroCoro. This gives us much clearer pictures on all aspects that were revealed and also clarifies certain things. Firstly, the sihlouettes aren't referred to as new Pokémon, but mysterious Pokémon, indicating that they are new forms as we already expect, and also as a plus, that the items to obtain them will be given away in shops AND over the WiFi connection from September 28th to November 4th. We do not know if it will be all at once but we'll keep you aprised so be sure to check back.
Secondly, some further details about the WiFi Room. Firstly, it appears you can only spend a certain amount of time in it each day. When your time is expired, the lights go dim and fireworks and other fun things start happening. The boat will appear and you will leave on it. It is currently unknown how long you can stay in it. You also get Touch Toys in the WiFi Room, controlled on the touch screen where the Pokétch would be. These have various effects within the WiFi Room and can be upgraded based upon the scores within the mini-games.
Giratina's Origin Forme also gets the following new attacks; Spite, Outrage & Mud-Slap
New characters
International Police Officer: Handsome
The first character of note is this police officer codenamed as Handsome. He is investigating the goings on in Sinnoh; The Climate has got cooler and Team Galactic's operations have seemed to pick up. You seem to meet up with him at several points within the game, including at the Valley Windworks and Jubilife City, however it is unknown if you will battle with him at your side or that he even has any Pokémon.
Team Galactic Professor
The next character appears to be a Professor within Team Galactic. His true motives and schemes are unknown at time of writing, but chances are you will end up battling him at some point during the game.
Wi-Fi square.
The WiFi Square is a unique area. Found in the bottom floor of the Pokémon Centers, it allows you to go in for various activities with up to 20 people
There are several different looks for the WiFi Square, all based upon different types. Water, Fire, Grass & Electric have been sighted, and as such, the decoration matches these specific types. The statues are based upon the starters across all 4 generations. (
Go here for pictures, can't seem to copy them and post them here).
Global Trading System
The Global Trading System has also had a massive tune-up in Pokémon Platinum. In addition to the trading of Pokémon in the same manner as Diamond & Pearl, the GTS also has many new features in the form of a Global Terminal
It is currently unknown what the Global Terminal does in Platinum. However, it requires use of in-game computers upon various levels of the GTS. However, part of it is likely to utilise the new Battle Recorder...
The Battle Recorder is a new item obtained in Pokémon Platinum that allows you to record your battles. Whether they're online battles or in-game battles is currently unknown. There appear to be several modes of the Battle Recorder. It is likely there is a mode in the Global Terminal that allows you to send out your battles and receive battle recordings from your friends. In Browser Mode, which allows the item's use outside the GTS, you can view your own battles and battles your friends have sent you as well as expunge any battles you do not wish to keep.
Another of the features of the global terminal include using e-mail. With this feature, you have the ability to send e-mails from yourself to your friends for whatever reason you have. This even works over normal e-mails to like your hotmail account or your Wii mail account. This is handy to remind them of a trade you were going to have. Very handy indeed.
