Pokemon Platinum has just hit sales of 1 million units in three days and is the fastest selling NDS title ever.
(Pokemon D&P have sold 5,571,456 copies so far).

Doesn't surprise me one bit. Leave it to Pokemon to break a record that Nintendo/a pokemon game made.

I guess it's this one (this was the one in Japan): BTW, guys, Nintendo said in December that the location inhabited by Giratina will be named Distortion World in English. It's expected that My Pokémon Ranch gets a Platinum update in the Wii Shop Channel after Platinum is released. This update will include data for the new forms of Giratina, Shaymin and Rotom, and increase the maximum storage capacity of the Ranch, among other things. And this is not related to Platinum, but for those of you who live in the US, Toys"R"Us will be giving away Shaymin from February 9th to February 14th.

I don't know if my parents would let me get Shaymin or not, but I'll ask them. Even though I'm not a very big Pokemon fan, I just like preserving very rare video game-related stuff that are valuable, like a Star Fox Super Weekend nylon jacket, a Mr. Saturn cell phone strap and a Hot-Wheels brand Stunt Race FX diecast car, which I still have all three of them. I also have some video game soundtracks.
When Mew was given out, I sent in the mail WITHOUT including either the Red or Blue version, which I should of included my Blue version (the first Pokemon game I bought and played); however, one of my second cousins let me trade one of my Pokemon for his Mew, but he used a cheating device, which wasn't fair. When the Surfing Pikachu + Surfing Pikachu minigame came out, I sent the Blue version, instead of the Yellow version before I heard my brother said I should of sent the Yellow version. He also said I probably wouldn't get the Blue version back. After he passed away, the Blue version came back to me.
In later giveaways, I never attempted to obtain Celebi, Jirachi nor any other extremely rare Pokemon. I never even attempted to obtain some of the extra stuff for Animal Crossing: Wild World, which are some retro SMB1-related objects and Captain Falcon's Blue Falcon.
Well, all the Pokemon games I currently have are Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Stadium 1, Hey You Pikachu!, Pokemon Channel (GCN), Pokemon Puzzle League and Trading Card Game 1 (GBC). Do I need Diamond and/or Pearl to obtain Shaymin?

Do I need Diamond and/or Pearl to obtain Shaymin? Are you...are you kidding? I don't want to sound like a dick, but that's a really dumb question...

Do I need Diamond and/or Pearl to obtain Shaymin? Yes, you do... But Platinum is around the corner, so I wouldn't be sure about buying Diamond or Pearl just to get Shaymin in your case. I'd ask for a friend to get it for me until I get Platinum. But if you don't care about Platinum, then Diamond and Pearl aren't bad games anyway. Do I need Diamond and/or Pearl to obtain Shaymin? Are you...are you kidding? I don't want to sound like a dick, but that's a really dumb question... He hasn't played third-generation games either, so he could have thought such Pokémon could be available for, say, Ruby and Sapphire.

Earlier today, when I entered my nearest Toys "R" Us, I asked an employee some questions on how to obtain Shaymin. He told me to try using the Download Play on the Nintendo DS menu screen without inserting the Diamond version, but nothing happened. Next I tried it again, but this time with Diamond inserted, and still nothing happened. I never expected my big sister to buy the game for me as a late Christmas present. I asked the employee again, and he said to try starting the game up, then I had to rush as fast as possible to the nearest Pokemon Mart and Pokemon Center to save game, but all the conversations going on and the sluggish gameplay made my sister tired of waiting for me to obtain Shaymin, so I told her that I am ignoring as many conversations in the game as possible, so I can rush to the nearest town. When I got to a town, I tried to figure out how to save my progress, but a couple of men that look like they are my age came and told me how to obtain the Mystery Gift. They told me to press "X" and select "SAVE". Next, when I turned it off and then turned it back on, the Mystery Gift popped up and asked if I want to receive it, and I said "Yes". Then, I think I heard it say it would be available in a Pokemon Mart. I also noticed that when I saw one of the guy's walking inside a Pokemon Mart and talked to a man who looks like a soldier or guard. When you talk to him, he'll hand it to you. Next, I saved my progress, immediately, and now I finally have Shaymin safe in my game pak! Image 1Image 2It took me 15 minutes to do this at the start of the game, and perhaps 20 if you count the time spend using Download Play without and with the game inserted. Hope this will help some of you who are planning to download Shaymin. I don't know when the next Pokemon Event will start and end, but I hope it will happen around my birthday. That way, I'll have two Shaymins (or perhaps three or four if I bought Pearl and Platinum, and if it would let me use Diamond again to obtain another Shaymin, then I probably have four of them), but that would take about 32 minutes to repeat the same thing I did earlier today; however, to prevent this kind of hard time from happening again, I will buy both games during mine and my father's next grocery shopping at our nearest Wal*Mart, and then play all the way to the first town in both games. That way, when the next promotional Pokemon Event comes, I will ask my sister again, and tell her it won't take as long as last time. If she lets me obtain a few more Shaymins, then I will succeed.

I don't think there's any restrictions on how many of the same event Pokémon can be gotten in the same Game Card (except that you can't have more than three simultaneous Mystery Gifts before receiving any of the Pokémon from the postman). Anyway, congratulations and enjoy this game Don't waste that Berry as it's very valuable and currently the only legal way to obtain one in America. Plant it somewhere so that you can multiply it.

I got Shaymin now too. It's sad really, I got nearly every Pokemon in my Pokedex except Mew. The only way to get her is by submitting 1000 Pokemon into Pokemon Ranch! What a pain, but I'm on it.

Do you have to submit 1000 different Pokemon or can there be more than one specific Pokemon like 50 Magicarps, 100 Chikoritas, 150 Wynauts and other things like that? I don't think there's any restrictions on how many of the same event Pokémon can be gotten in the same Game Card (except that you can't have more than three simultaneous Mystery Gifts before receiving any of the Pokémon from the postman). Anyway, congratulations and enjoy this game Don't waste that Berry as it's very valuable and currently the only legal way to obtain one in America. Plant it somewhere so that you can multiply it. Does that mean I can't even bring two game cards in order to obtain one Shaymin per game card, or do I have to bring another Nintendo DS handheld in order to obtain another Shaymin? I still have my older DS handheld that I bought on its launch date. What does the Micle Berry do? The Micle Berry is a Poffin ingredient. If held by a Pokemon, it raises the accuracy of a move just once in a pinch.

Actually I've never been in a situation where I'd try to get two of the same species of event Pokémon but now that I read more on it, I think you indeed can't get two in the same game card (please somebody confirm this). The Micle Berry does exactly what you say. Poffins are food for Pokémon that increase their performance in Pokémon Contests. And Micle Berry's in-battle effect, when held by a Pokémon, is that it increases the accuracy of the chosen move when your Pokémon is low on HP. In both cases, the Berry is consumed after use, so make sure you don't run out of them. You'll find patches of soil to plant Berries later in the game. You are able to deposit more than one Pokémon of the same species in the Ranch

There aren't 1000 different species of Pokémon, anyway.
