A character selection screen has been revealed on GoNintendo! 40 characters! K. Rool is playable!

gonintendo.com/?p=45300A link is helpful! Yeah, K.Rool is playable. Does anyone else see the weird Toad's cap? Looks odd to me. (Plus, tech bottom screen has what appears to be SMB2 era Toad, complete with blue spots!) Baby DK is also visible on the bottom row of a screen. Who's in between Diddy and Dry Bones?  This is the screen shot I'm referring to in this post.

I loved the first game. LOVED it.
That blue spotted Toad is a color change. Toad, Troopa, Paratroopa, Noki, Pianta, Dry Bones, Hammer Bro., and Magikoopa all had color swaps that counted as the same character just... different stats. You couldn't make a team of all Toads, in other words, which kinda blew. But it seems they're letting Yoshi change colors now too. Huzzah!
Between Diddy and Funky is Dixie; she's in the trailer and was in the last game.
Seems like this is the added cast thus far, from what I can tell (following the rows):
Next to Diddy and Dixie is Funky. Just below them is Tiny Kong. Skipping to the start of the final row we have Baby Peach, Baby Daisy, Blooper, and then further along either Baby DK or DK Jr. (though more likely Baby DK). After that we get Kritter and K. Rool, followed by Wiggler.
Not bad.

And what happened to Chunky anyway? He didn't make into these other recent DK games along with Tiny and Lanky. What gives?
And I'd bet anything Baby Waluigi will appear here.

Case in point: Hammer Bros' color changes. Red was a Fire Bro. and green was a Boomerang Bro. So, a dark blue spotted Toad would seem to be the Toad from SMB2USA. At least to me. Agreed. |

I just noticed that K.Rool's headshot looks a lot like Wart. Wonder if it's him instead? Can't see K.Rool's funky eye after all. (He still has that, right?) Oh, I knew that. Rosalina isn't in this game!? ...How would we know now anyway? More details on it are rather sketchy at this moment.
If anything, they should put Pauline in more games like these. She would have been good in Mario Kart Wii.
That reminds me, I just found a new favorite OTP: Pauline x Rosalina.
