Mega Man 12 With Dr. Yaku now a revealed threat to Monsteropolis and the planet Earth, Mega Man has been geared up to fight for good once again! The three remaining Mega Man Killers are still at large laying havoc in their own search for Wily, but Dr. Yaku is also missing in the turmoil. One day, while fighting Enker, Mega Man discovers something out of the ordinary: a yellow scarf. Is this Protoman's? When he returns to Light's Lab, Dr. Light is excited to tell him about an upcoming solar eclipse. As the cast watches the dazzling light show, a strange sight appears: in the center of the eclipse, there is a small red dot. It grows larger until it encompasses most of the eclipse, and time almost seems to stand still when it reaches maximum size. There is a flash and a bang and a massive robot appears hovering in the sky above Monsteropolis. "I am Kronos, father of the StarDroids. I have come to claim the life of their murderer, and to claim his planet as my own." Mega Man, having a strong sense of duty, sets out to confront Kronos. The two converse, and Kronos challenges for Mega Man to meet him at his Mothership for a fair fight...when he is ready. Kronos disappears, but Dr. Yaku arrives in his wake to throw out his own challenge to Mega Man: if Dr. Yaku can defeat Mega Man, he can use Kronos for his own devices by offering him the broken body for a reward. Now challenged by two different forces, Mega Man leaves to battle 8 brand new Robot Masters, Dr. Yaku, and the new leader of the StarDroids. And, if that weren't enough, what happened to Protoman?
...Robot Masters...
*ORO MAN -- Ancient Civilization Studies Robot -- an arrogant, golden robot who wears the jewelery and adornments of bygone Mayan, Aztec, and Incan civilizations NOTE: in this stage, Huitzil from Darkstalkers appears as as miniboss ...Weapon: Oro Wheel, a golden wheel spoked with blades that rides along floors *LARK MAN -- Aviation Robot -- a proud and speedy robot who loves to hunt and play games; he appears in the alternate BN timeline ...Weapon: Lark Wing, two spinning crescent blades that cut through projectiles *KOMUSO MAN -- Religion and Culture Robot -- a mysterious ronin-like robot who plays a shakuhachi; returns from the future with the future Mega Man ...Weapon: Doppler Crash, a charged up punching attack *MIRROR WOMAN -- Optics Robot -- a vain robot who wears mirrored armor and can't stand to be touched ...Weapon: Mirror Reflect, a short-ranged mirrored diamond that reflects projectiles *HEART WOMAN -- Human Psychology/Psychiatric Robot -- a loving robot who has become very bitter towards human ...Weapon: Heart Burst, a cannon fire that bursts into dazzling heart-shaped sparkles *SPORE MAN -- Waste Disposal Robot -- a "Green" robot who runs off decomposing matter, he is somewhat of an ecoterrorist ...Weapon: Spore Option, a rotating shield of mushroom spores that can be destroyed individually from damage but mimic the shots of Mega Man *SONIC MAN -- Sound Studies Robot -- a very fast robot who loves to scream and yell ...Weapon: Sonic Boom, a clapping attack that sends out sharp sonic waves to slice the opponent (occasionally, Mega Man will yell, "Sonic Boom!" Street Fighter style) *CACTUS MAN -- Desert Systems Robot -- a gaucho and spaghetti western type cowboy robot who relies on his two six-shooters to defeat foes ...Weapon: Cactus Revolver, a single powerful shot dead ahead
After defeating all 8 Robot Masters, Mega Man is now confronted with four brand new Doc Robots! This time, they inhabit the stages for Oro Man, Cactus Man, Mirror Woman, and Sonic Man. The represented Robot Master "styles" are from all over the series: Oro gets Plant Man and Burst Man; Cactus Man gets Tomahawk Man and Charge Man; Mirror Woman gets Gemini Man and Drill Man; and Sonic Man gets Elec Man and Search Man. Once they fall, Mega Man enters Dr. Yaku's Castle. After four daunting stages, he finishes off Dr. Yaku and is faced now with the massive Mothership inside the Eclipse that belongs to Kronos. Unable to get in, he falls back on the scarf and calls Bass to help. Bass gets him inside, and there are four stages here as well. Along the way, Mega Man must also fight Kronos' two lackeys: Alpha and Ceres. Once defeated, he meets Kronos himself and has a major final fight for planet Earth.
Kronos is defeated, and Bass is there to witness the occasion. He takes the scarf from Mega Man and tosses it into the breeze as the eclipse peels back and the sun shines again. The two return to Light's Lab where his project is nearing completion. Dr. Yaku has gone to jail, Kronos has been destroyed, but they all forgot the Mega Man Killers! Mega Man AND Bass both rush out the door to fight them, when they hear the familiar whistle once more and see, hanging from the tree, Punk, Enker, and Ballade, defeated. From the sky dangles the yellow scarf, and it lands gently in front of the three defeated robots. Mega Man smiles, and Bass does his usual cry of defeat because he was beaten to the punch. They look off into the sky, and the game closes.
...and that's that. I think once you beat the game this time around, you definitely should be able to play as Bass. Definitely.

I recently came up with a Fungi Man who's original function was a mycology robot, but I couldn't think of 7 other Robot Masters to go with him. You can use him in your next idea Flip.
EDIT: Actually, I also came up with Hydrant Man. His weapon is a water gun, but his design resembles a firefighter. Naturally, his original function was a firefighting robot. Use him as well.

I've never really been an advocate of that many Mega Man games. I think you should give them different titles instead, like Mega Man & Bass. I think Fungi Man wouldn't matter much. They've repeated the same theme over before (Fire Man = Heat Man, etc.). Here's six more: Dragon Man: Originally acted as an animatronic entertainer in a medival-themed amusement park. He looks kind of like a Dragoon and his weapon is a throwable lance. Punch Man: Formerly a robotic boxing champion. His design resembles that of a heavyweight boxer and his weapon is a short ranged boxing glove-shaped missle. Jump Man: He looks like a robotic version of Mario and his original job was a carpentry robot (c wut i did thar?). His weapon is actually a throwable hammer, despite his name. Paint Man: A robot built for contracting, specifically building decor. He looks like a handyman and his weapon is a globule of paint that actually changes an enemy's color if it doesn't kill them in one hit. Cook Man: A cooking robot, simple enough. He has a chef's hat, and a dinner fork rocket for a weapon. Dig Man: A mining robot. He looks kinda similar to Guts Man, but instead he has this bigass Dig Dug-style digging machine for an arm. That's his weapon. Yeah, I had trouble coming up with names for the weapons, and I'm not entirely sure which weapon beats which Robot Master.

Haha, I thought up a Chef Man at one point I've also seen folks do Dragon Man before, and I still think it's a great idea. Dig and Jump are my faves, though, easily. Think they could get away with that, though? A Mario-style robot?

..but Flip just said that Number Man is a reference to the Battle Network series. I know, the design can be the same, but the name will be better. Yeah, you should get to 16, or maybe- never mind, I won't say it, it's too much for your creative brain. Kepp up the good thoughts, now to MAKE these games...

That doesn't always help. Fans resulted in things like Shadow the Hedgehog's game and Spider-Man being forced to end his marriage to Mary Jane and lose his baby for the sake of staying young forever.

Then Game companies need to know which fans have good ideas and which fans don't. Most game companies don't know what fans are asking for, so they need to lurk too.

Alright, I'm back.
First off, I'd like to alter the ending to "Mega Man 11" just a bit. Or, at least, elaborate. The Mega Man Killers were revived because Dr. Yaku found and rebuilt their bodies within the ruins of Wily's fortress. Although they still intend to kill Mega Man and must be fought, however, they are Wily's creations and so they don't follow Yaku's orders completely. That is why, in the following game, the three survivors are still at large across the globe--they are acting freely in their own search for Wily. Quint survives defeat and reappears towards the end for a few different reasons. Primarily, the battle ends prematurely when Quint cannot bring himself to defeat Mega Man as it would ultimately delete himself from the timeline. So, Quint books it before being defeated. When Dr. Yaku pulls his final stunt by using the Time Skimmer to send Mega Man forwards in time to an era where Wily ruled, Quint leaps into action to not only use it himself to "go back home" but to also drag Mega Man in there with him. He, of course, is shot down by Bass and sent forwards in time while Mega Man is spared. Quint, therefore, is returned to his own time and, presumably, never heard from again.
Also, the Mega Man and Bass Wonderswam Robot Masters (Compass and Komuso) have already appeared from the future by this point, and were simply rebuilt by Yaku. I made an error in my knowledge of the timeline >.>
Now that that's out of the way... ------------------------------------------------------------- Mega Man Countdown A new run of the series deserves a new title. Taking more inspiration from games like Mega Man and Bass, MMC is essentially "Mega Man 13."
Dr. Light has finished as much as he can on his secret project, and packs it away in a special location that not even Rock or Roll know. He has now begun to work on a second project, but he needs a special collection of rare crystals to power it. Light admits that, at one point, he had the materials, but Dr. Wily had stolen and used them to build some of his abominations since the two ended their partnership. Mega Man is sent to the ruins of Wily's labs to find the cache of stones that will help Light finish his machine. In the meantime, all the computers across the globe have been acting funny and no longer function. Since all are part of one global network, Light asks Mega Man to investigate on his way to Wily's lab.
At the Cyber Museum, a celebration of computer tech (with a lot of Battle Network cameos, of course), Mega Man is greeted by rogue robots and a reconstructed "Blue Devil." When he defeats them as all he meets Dr. Ada Peters, a computer scientist and mathematician who helped design the Network. She explains to Mega Man that the main computer which monitors the network, CRORQ, is unable to diagnose the problem. CRORQ spits out a map of the globe, showing the location of 8 new Robot Masters and a message asking for "8 Blue Crystals," necessary to reset the network. The RMs are located at 8 central "hubs" of the network, all in control over one major computer unit which runs off one of the eight crystals. If Mega Man can defeat the Robot Masters, he can reclaim the crystals from these machines to power them down and return the crystals to CRORQ to reboot the network. Light remarks that these are similar crystals to, but not the same as, the ones he needs. It's a race against the clock, then, for Mega Man to stop the Robot Masters before they cause mass destruction across the globe!
Gameplay is similar to all the latter Mega Man games, most similar probably to Mega Man 8/Bass. Major differences, however, are a "Grade" and "Time" System. Score returns from the very first Mega Man game, and players are awarded a grade per level based on how many points they received, what their time was, and how efficient they were at beating the level. Furthermore, each stage is timed, meaning that Mega Man must clear the stage before the timer ends and "the globe is destroyed." There are two bosses per level: the computer unit and the Robot Master. By defeating the computer unit, the timer is ended and the crystal reclaimed. However, the Robot Master must be defeated the completely clear the stage.
Also present are Zennies, which are rewarded to the player for successful completion of hidden challenges and getting good grades within the stages. Zennies can then be spent on easter egg type goodies in the game, so they're not essential to gameplay.
Finally, each stage contains two major secrets: first, each stage contains one white crystal, which is what Light needs to finish his device. Collecting all 8 will get you a special ending, but it doesn't effect your game if you miss them. Also, each stage contains one secret boss--the Robot Masters from MM1! To get them requires you to beat the stages in a special order, with certain weapons or characters, or simply to be really damn good at secret hunting. In that regard, this game is similar to Mega Man 6 as the stages do have multiple and often hidden paths.
And I should mention then that like Mega Man X, boss order determines stage layout. One boss may cause a cave-in and change the terrain of another's level, while yet another may drain the water from some other robot's stage. So the game is very heavy in replay value.
Which brings up my next point... characters. Similar to the last few X games, you can switch characters on the Stage Select screen. At first you only have Mega Man, but after so many bosses defeated you unlock more characters to use. Characters are as follows...[/i]
*Mega Man -- available from beginning, has Charge and Slide and plays like you remember. Gets Rush Coil, Rush Jet, Rush Cycle, and Rush Search. All characters can get Beat and Tango. *Bass -- now working for Light, he shows up to assist Mega Man when he realizes Mega Man might actually "win" -- available after first Robot Master defeated, has Dash and Double Jump. He plays just like Mega Man and Bass in that he has angled rapid fire and his shots don't go through walls. Gets Treble Boost, Treble Cannon (works like an Option), and Treble Assist (freebie items). *R-Shadow (re-named Dirge) -- available halfway through the game when he offers his assistance -- Plays similarly to Mega Man, has Charge (laser shot from MM8), Hover, and Slide. He jumps higher and runs a bit faster but takes double damage. Gets Baroque Jet, Baroque Scan (think Scan Visor), Baroque Assist, and Quint's Sakurgane pogo stick. *Proto Man -- reveals himself after defeating the first castle -- available after defeating the first castle, has Dash, Charge, and Wall Kick (works like Mario, not X). He carries the Proto Shield at all times other than when shooting and can deflect shots (that don't do damage, unlike 9). He takes double damage and flies back further when hit. Has Proto Coil, Proto Jet, and Eddie Bomber (rains bombs on screen). *Duo -- appears after defeating game -- has Shoulder Charge, Punch, and Charge Punch. he is slower and sucks at jumping, but he has a lot of power behind his attacks and can break certain blocks with his fists. Has Duo Jet (actually legitimate flight) and Duo Thrusters (similar to Rush Jet, but he turns into a comet to fly forwards).
I will post again with the Robot Master and final plot details!

Mega Man Countdown (cont.)
After defeating the first Robot Master, Mega Man is met by Bass who informs him that he is giving "assistance" in the mission. In reality, Bass is just being selfish and proud, but whatever. Halfway through (so after your first four), R-Shadow appears, calling himself "Dirge," and mentioning his absence over the past few games. After being reprogrammed by Light, he was sent to Light and Wily's Alma Mater to be studied. However, he was summoned to help Mega Man fight the good fight when the labs at the university began to go on the fritz as well. He has been upgraded since his last appearance, as well as the name change. Dirge also takes with him a robotic fox named Baroque, essentially his own Rush. Now, these are the three characters you have until you beat the 8 Robot Masters...
...Robot Masters... *DYNA WOMAN -- Demolitions Robot -- a femme bot with an explosive personality, her hair is braided like a dynamite fuse and her fuel core is nuclear; she appears in the alternate Mega Man PC timeline as a male robot created by CRORQ ...Weapon: Dynamite Detonator, a bundle of powerful dynamite that must be set off by remote control *VOLT MAN -- Advanced Circuitry and Engineering Robot -- a hefty robot who loves electricity, his back is riddled with diodes that create a massive electrical shield around his body; he appears in the alternate Mega Man PC timeline as a robot created by CRORQ ...Weapon: Volt Field, a pulsing shield of electricity that zaps enemies and can be fired off as a projectile *TORCH MAN -- Welding and Construction Robot -- a sewer-dwelling robot who helped construct the underground subways and labyrinths of Megatropolis; he appears in the alternate Mega Man PC timeline as a robot created by CRORQ; not to be confused with Burner Man from Mega Man & Bass OR TorchMan.EXE from the alternate Battle Network timeline (who was a misnomer for FireMan.EXE) ...Weapon: Torch Arm, a steady stream of fire that works just like a flamethrower *BIT MAN -- Extraterrestrial Excavation Robot -- a drilling robot who was originally designed to search for water on Mars, he has four rotating drill bits (2 on each arm) and a massive piston on his back that he uses to tunnel beneath the Earth; he appears in the alternate Mega Man PC timeline as a robot created by CRORQ ...Weapon: Bit Spazer, two projectile drill bits that are separated vertically by lines of electricity *SHARK MAN -- Underwater Exploration Robot -- a piscine robot who is completely adapted to aquatic life, he loves to surf and eat Sushi; he appears in the alternate Mega Man PC timeline as a robot created by CRORQ; also appears in the alternate Battle Network timeline ...Weapon: Sharkfin Boomerang, a directional spinning fin-like blade that fires slowly *BLADE MAN -- Criminal Justice Robot -- a vigilante robot who was designed to fight crime outside the city lines, one of his arms has a variable blade that can transform from dagger to saw to halberd; he appears in the alternate Mega Man PC timeline as a robot created by CRORQ ...Weapon: Blade Slasher, a chargeable downward slash with an energy blade (charge determines strength, size, and type of blade) *ACID MAN -- Toxicology Robot -- an intelligent robot with intense knowledge of chemicals and toxins, he has tubes that transfer venom between his back, shoulders, and chest; somewhat based on the robot Oil Man from the alternate Mega Man PC series, a Robot Master created by CRORQ who was later created in the main timeline by Wily as part of the events of "Powered Up," or Mega Man 1 ...Weapon: Acid Splash, a ball of acid that bursts and spreads into smaller acid drops *MIST WOMAN -- Magic and Illusions Robot -- a mistress of magic and trickery, this robot disappears behind a veil of smoke and fog and can seemingly hover effortlessly in the air; appears as a male Navi in the alternate Battle Network timeline ...Weapon: Mist Screen, a smokescreen attack that makes Mega Man invulnerable for a short time
After defeating all 8 Robot Masters, Mega Man gives the blue crystals to Peters and she places them inside CRORQ. But they don't work exactly as planned... Light receives a message from Dr. Peters saying that CRORQ has gone insane and is holding her captive! Mega Man has to head to the headquarters of computers and technology where CRORQ is uploading its intelligence to all computers in the world, hoping to take control. The university has become a fortress and consists of four stages. After clearing it, Mega Man has a confrontation with CRORQ and defeats the computer. Dr. Peters runs to Mega Man in thanks, but as she does CRORQ tries another attack in desperation. It blows back Mega Man, and Peters transforms into a vicious creature. She was a hologram created by CRORQ! The creature, which bears some resemblance to a few different enemies (notably Wile from Mega Man Zero), is also a hologram and is the representation of CRORQ's consciousness. Mega Man is told that the blue crystals were meant to amplify CRORQ's powers even further, and that there was no hope at all--CRORQ had this all planned out. The machine laughs and the fortress begins to crumble as it activates its sentience across the globe.
Of course, per usual, the "whistle" is heard and Protoman appears holding Dr. Yaku. He tosses Dr. Yaku aside and orders him to "stop it," and Dr. Yaku shamefully agrees. CRORQ yells and cries, but everyone watches as Dr. Yaku takes blows from the machine and essentially deactivates it. He finishes, CRORQ shuts down for good, and the crystals are returned to Mega Man. Dr. Yaku is upset, and admits that it was he who had turned CRORQ sour. Every character teleports out and they arrive outside the ruins. Protoman explains how he found Dr. Yaku and while they discuss what to do with him, he slowly escapes. Dr. Yaku leaps into a UFO and flies off swearing that he was ready for this, and the four robots decide that he can't get away this time. Cue the second castle.
The second castle starts off normal, but by the final stage it's realized that this isn't any normal Yaku Castle... it's the ruins of Wily's Skull Castle! Dr. Yaku has officially taken over and converted the ruins toward his own design. After the Teleport Hatches and the final fight with Dr. Yaku, Yaku is once again defeated and admits that although he DID find CRORQ it wasn't at the computer labs... it was within the ruins. CRORQ's brain is actually within the ruins of Wily's Castle, and thus CRORQ was never fully destroyed. Yaku then admits that he wasn't intelligent enough to have designed such an ingenious system, and while he was exploring it he discovered a few more interesting "secrets" that drove him almost mad. He starts to snap and go crazy, and the characters take him away to jail. Mega Man and Protoman stay behind to look over the ruins and wonder where Wily has been all this time and where the central part of CRORQ remains. Although the threat was stopped, knowing that Wily's computer still remains, and is active, scares them both and they leave knowing that they will have to return someday.
Happy reunions, Dr. Yaku is in a straight-jacket stuck in a looney bin, and the computers of the world are back to normal all thanks to Mega Man and friends! The credits roll with pleasant scenes of all the characters rejoicing and, if you got all the white crystals, Dr. Light building his own "hologram device."
After the credits, of course, a hidden scene occurs. Deep within Wily's lab the pitch black of the final scene brightens up as a computer turns. CRORQ is still alive, and begins to replay images of its final memories before the lab was destroyed the first time. Wily working on his prototype, Wily discovering the Zero Virus, Wily working on CRORQ, and Wily hooked into CRORQ itself in a mysterious "slumber." The final hologram is of the creature Dr. Peters became, laughing as it transforms further into the cackling image of a glitchy, grotesque, and malformed Wily.
....epic much >.>
