Right, one thing that makes NinDB stand out is its selection of cameos and references. These are:
Cameos An appearance, mention, or allusion to either another game series by Nintendo, or a much earlier game in that series.
References Technically cameos, but this is what I call the cameos that refer to things outside of Nintendo, such as the Beatles references in Earthbound, or the Power Rangers references found here and there.
I'm very pleased with how many of these NinDB has accumulated, and even discovered, over the years. However, I want more! Always more! Now I am considering doing some cameos without necessarily using screenshots for them immediately (a surefire sign that I've been there and seen it), which means I can add a load of cameos that I know are missing, as well as start adding cameos to games I don't own.
But I need YOU to find them, and post them here, where they can be checked by others and either dismissed entirely, or accepted and added to the site.
To kick us off, who owns Pikmin 2, and what have you found?

Still missing a few Animal Crossing ones. G Logo Shirt is the only one I noticed, but there might be more. I do own Pikmin 2, and while there's all sorts of licensed items in it, I personaly haven't noticed any cameos other then what's already been mentioned around here. Also, I don't think you have this yet, but in Tales of Symphonia there's a giant GameCube in the Sylvarant Base.

I'd quite like to add Pikmin's licensed items, but definitely any cameo items: 1. Is the Famicom Disk still in the game? 2. What game is the Game & Watch item? 3. Aside from the Disk, G&W, Control Pad, and Love Tester, are there any more Nintendo-themed items at all?
Cameos in non-Nintendo games is something I am interested in, but I don't really have a decent way of adding them to the site. Keep them coming, but they might not be up until I come up with a place to put them. Any ideas, actually?

2. What game is the Game & Watch item? Looks exactly like the level from Smash Bros. Melee.

That has been pointed out already in another thread.

This is a cameos thread, not a complaining thread. If someone lists a cameo that's already mentioned, then that's fine, don't complain about it. I, for one, don't remember hearing about the matchbox with Bowser on, and I read all of the threads.

I'm definately all for a "Nintendo sightings in the elsewhere" section, you could even mention references made in films/tv/magazines/newspapers, like www.classicgaming.com/tmk does, although this might take a lot of work on your part of course... As for cameos, I'll get back to you on that.

Cameos and references make games awesome, so I like this focus on them at this site - keep up the awesome work! ;D
I don't know any cameos or references that I can contribute right now... nothing that isn't already widely know that is...
Oh, I know - did you know that in the courtyard of Hyrule Castle in LoZ-Ocarina of Time there is a window with pictures of Mario and the gang???
I'm kidding around people - that's an old old one - chill-axe people... ;D

Nathan - thank you, I've been meaning to add that one for ages, but keep forgetting about it! TTF - That's an excellent list. Can you expand on a couple of them for me? I need to know what the Mario Paint Tube is, what game the Game & Watch is, and can you expand at all on the Growshroom? If you have the game, the actual descriptions would be fantastic. Nintyboy - No, I don't think I'd like to risk the insanity caused by a million Nintendo references in film and TV. Have you seen how annoyed TMK gets over all that? There's too many, and most of them aren't very interesting (Homer Simpson has a Game Boy bowling game in one episode... zzzz). But I have planned to have a section on Nintendo cartoons and films here eventually.

I only ever saw that show once, but it didn't seem too bad... Although Candy looked nothing like how I remember her looking in any of the games... Am I right in believing that DK64's Crystal Coconuts were actually a tie-in to that series? I'm pretty sure the show came before the N64 game, and contained a Crystal Coconut as some sort of important plot device...

I will remember it, and I saw some myself. The reason it wasn't popular was because it sucked serious Donkey Arse.
What was with all the happy clappy singing and dancing? I hate that. It's like being stabbed. Repeatedly. In the neck. By Microsoft.
As for the Crystal Coconut, I also noticed that the series preceded Donkey Kong 64, and so yes, I do think the Crystal Coconut was a tie in to the show. Very odd. I'm surprised Rare wanted to admit the show existed at all.
