Cameos I discovered:
In Yoshi Touch & Go, after you go through one of the stages, in the end, if you accheived a high score, you get to choose a picture to go along with your score... about 20 of them are 8-bit Super Mario Bros. pictures.
I'll supply a list later.

Hmm... I'm not sure if it counts as a cameo, but in Super Mario Sunshine as FLUDD 'scans' Mario near the start, it shows a couple of clips from old games in the bottom-right corner... the first one I didn't quite see... the second one is Mario fighting Bowser in SM64.

It shows clips from Super Mario Bros., Super Mario World and Super Mario 64. I've been meaning to add that one for ages. It's a lovely reference to earlier games in the series. I'm going to have to write some complicated cameo guidelines or something

Happy to see the webmaster's going to make the database more complete!
From the Mairo Sunshine scene I could only recognise Super Mario 64.

I'm not sure if these have been mentioned. In Super Punch-Out!! for SNES some of the score holders are Nintendo characters here’s a list of the ones I found, Gabby Jay: Wario, Bear Hugger: Luigi, Piston Hurricane: Mario, Bald Bull: Peach, Bob Charlie: Zelda, Mr. Sandman: Jeff and Tony (they are next too each other, and since Jeff from EarthBound best friend is Tony)
And in the Gunslinger game in Wario Ware Touched I have gotten a Game Boy.

In Paper Mario, you can go into Luigi's room somehow and see his diary "I remember the good old days when we played Golf and Tennis and hosted Parties". I read that in NP. It is a reference to Mario Golf, Tennis, and Party. I myself never played it though...

I've never heard of any of these Super Punch-Out!! references before. Can anyone confirm or deny them? Must be some SPO fans here... And can anyone confirm the WarioWare Touched one as well? I suspect there are more things to find in that one... I'll just have to sit down and play it over and over. The Paper Mario one is true (you get into his room by pounding through a secret panel)... and it apparently also makes an early reference to Luigi's Mansion... but I'll have to play it again to confirm that one.

I don't know call it a reference or not, in Crygor's boss "Living Room Rally", the remote controller is in Famicom controller colour. Look at its red and gold theme colour!

I've checked out the SPO reference, and it is legit! Hooray for new cameos! Now I just need to assemble some kind of screenshot thing (wish I didn't suck at this game so badly).
I noticed the remote control thing as well. I don't think I'll include it though... at least not now.

Okay, this isn't a new cameo, but on the cameo page for Donkey Konga 3 I saw "TV: Fire Emblem (commercial?)"... And since I thought it would be a bit weird to use music from a commercial in the game, perhaps it's music from the Fire Emblem anime? Also, speaking of the cameo page for Donkey Konga 3, when I click on Donkey Konga 3 on the top of the page (at 'Nintendo Database >> Gamecube >> Donkey Konga 3 >> Cameos & References'), I seem to go to the Donkey Konga 2's game page! Just thought I'd point that out

Yep, I noticed the wrong link as well when working on some of the game series cameo lists. It should be fixed now.
It's not entirely weird using music from a commercial (Pikmin 1 and 2 for instance both have their commercial music used), but you may be right about the anime thing. I'll look into it.
Speaking of cameo lists, I've been putting them up as I've been finishing them, so hunt around for them. I'll put up an update announcement when they're all up. (Hint: I'm working backwards up the main list)

and it apparently also makes an early reference to Luigi's Mansion... but I'll have to play it again to confirm that one. It's not really a direct reference, but it hints at it... he talks about how terrified he is of ghosts in one of the diary entries.

I don't know if this is called a reference or not, since the "cameos" are pixelized.
In Japanese Polarium puzzles 91, 96, 98 it seems to be Mario references and puzzle 95 looks like the warp point in Zelda Minish Cap. Whether they appear the same as EU version or not is unknown.
Also, there are TONS of Mario refrences in WarioWare Twisted Kat's games. I hope any of us with the Gameboy Player and a TV card can buy it, shake the Gamecube (crazy, but it works!) and take screenshots.

YL, give me the names of the microgames which have cameo's, I can easily take screenshots of them.
