I'll have to go back and try with... is it still a spoiler to mention the after 120 stars secret? Urgh... I thought the cameo board was understood to be spoiler city.

Not exactly a cameo, but the part of the storybook that shows the girl's mama makes the mama kind of look like Peach. Amiright?

Two things: -The Red Shell acts like one in Mario Kart. I know that's in the same series, but it was a sub series. - The pink enemies that shoot rocks at you look and act like Octoroks. I know Octoroks are based on traditional Japanese drawings of octopi, but the enemies act just like Octoroks in 2D Zelda games. They even look like them! And its not like the first cameo from them in a Mario game. Enemies like Octoroks were found in the Space Zone in Super Mario Land 2. I was going to add the Pokeball but that has its own thread now

There seems to be lots of Zelda enemies in Mario Galaxy, such as Tektites, and I can't think of the rest. Also, Magikoopa's remind me of Wizrobes.

The only spider enemies I can think of are the hanging spiders, and they're from NSMB. Agreed on the Magikoops.

Except, you know... Magikoopas are completely different. Do you mean the way they act? Because that's also pretty damn similar to the way they've ALWAYS acted.

There were segments of stone wall with chubby-cheeked faces in a few levels, that would poke out in an attempt to push Mario off; reference to the wall segments with faces that poked out in Whomp's Fortress in Mario 64?
Also, in a few levels there's a fat, flying chicken enemy that defecates bombs; reference to a similar enemy from Sunshine? (that one, however, made sludge instead...)
A possible reference to Yoshi's Island; on some small planets, Mario is required to ground pound wooden stumps to move on. Raphael Raven, anyone?
And the Ice Flower first appeared in Partners in Time; thought I should bring that up.

All of those count as in-series continuity, although I had forgotten about the Ice Flower. Good catch

SPOILERSAs if you couldn't guess. In Bowser's Galaxy Reactor There are blueish lights that change the direction of gravity, they look similar to the lights in Legend of Zelda Twilight princess in the Death Mountain Mines that have a similar effect if you're using the Iron Boots.

Coloured arrows are a cameo?

Coloured arrows are a cameo? Not the arrows. Both are a slightly transparent cylinder textured with blue dots. In galaxy they let you walk on walls or transport you from place to place, in TP the indicate magnetic pull so when your waring the Iron boots they hurl you in what ever direction they're coming from. It's a bit of a stretch but I didn't think I should leave it out.

Another Easter Egg. During a Cosmic Mario Race Hold Up on the control stick and press Z when the 2 appears and press A when "GO" appears for a boost.
And apperently getting 9999 Starbits in the Main hub world turns coconuts into watermelons. Need to confirm that one though

Mario's [secret] Rats Der[/secret] costume colors are black overalls and red shirt. Much like the SMB3 sprites. OMG! I cannot believe no one actually commented on this one! That is exactly what I thought when I first saw that. It looked exactly like Mario's black overalls and red shirt from Super Mario Bros. 3. And truly fitting that Mario's amazing ability to (spoiler) comes with this color scheme. EDIT: Also didn't anyone notice how Mario swims when holding a Koopa shell? It works exactly like how Mario swam while holding a Koopa shell in Super Mario World.
