One thing you need to keep in mind is that nothing in SSB thus far has been taken directly from the Pokémon anime, and that item concept is cheap as hell anyway. So I'd file that under "unlikely and ill-conceived." Except for the fact that they say their names in Smash and not some sound.

She had exact clothes like that in the anime and I don't think she wore them in the game (I know she does'nt in LG or FR not sure about R/B/Y)

Well, Misty is Misty, and they just chose the anime palette. Mewtwo's special balls are exclusively from the anime. thores's idea is better; just remember the concept of the Snag Ball would be far from the original one by three things (Snag Ball: Shadow Pokémon + Snag Machine + any other type of Poké Ball). And yet I don't like the idea. Why not a Poké Doll instead? They're items not only from the games, but also from the real world and are more adorable than a Nintendog itself.

that item concept is cheap as hell anyway. So I'd file that under "unlikely and ill-conceived." It's only slightly different than yoshi's b-move. Except you have to actually work to use the Egg Swallow move and KO an enemy, and even then--unless they fall incredibly fast--it's really easy to recover from that. Nine times out of ten, using that move near the edge will make the contained person fall back onto solid ground. With your Super-Anime-CatchBall, all you need to do is throw it over the edge--which is not hard at all to do and leaves little chance for recovery, since most items travel at about the same speed when thrown anyway. That's not anime-exclusive. It's confirmed in several Pokémon games that Pokémon speak their own names. I imagine the reason you hear that rather than their in-game noise is just a matter of quality control on Sakurai's part.

The only other game that did was Pokemon Snap, Pokemon Puzzle Leauge and Pokemon Yellow, but the last two are dirrectly based off the Anime.

I just had another thought cound'nt the "Star KO" in SSB and SSBM be from the pokemon anime? That thing where Team Rocket would go flying through the air into the distance and have the little star thing happen.

No, that's a fairly common cartoon element in anime.

I'm sure some Pokémon pronounce their cries (albeit just written) in Red and Blue when you talk to them (I guess that's Tei's point). Even in the games, a few Pokémon cries are nearly identical to their own species names (at least the Japanese ones). Did you guys notice how the new cries sound better and better? Super Smash Bros. is the closer thing we have to the anime when it comes to Pokémon (because it's real-time battling). And the anime is like the way to make the content of the games "real". That's why I think it isn't wrong to think of the anime voices as the canon ones.

Did you guys notice how the new cries sound better and better? Yes, I did notice they were sounding a lot cooler now. Not as cool as Nidoking's high pitch wail, though.

I know it's tempting to think of games as one entity, and TV shows as non-canon side-marketing, but I think with Pokemon we have to break down that distinction a little.
Sure, the series is focused on someone loosely based on the main character in the games, but the anime is hugely successful and has been formative in people's opinions of the series. After all, why is Pikachu special? In the original game he was just an uncommon electric rat that lived in the woods.
This is a lot more common in Japanese media than in America, where complementary media marketing is handled extremely badly and can be safely considered non-canonical (would YOU want to try and make the Legend of Zelda cartoon and the CDi games fit with the rest of the Zelda series? For a character who doesn't speak, American writers sure seem to think he's a loudmouth!)

^ Wow Link is ... yeah. Anyway how about DK Bongo Compadibilty for SSBB. Yeah, nothing screams "what an awesome game!" like not being able to control your characters properly and making your hands too sore to play an additional round. :D Next idea, please!
