True, but Spud seemed to imply that retro stages could be taken directly from the SSB rom image. Those stages were made specifically for that game, so the SSBB engine wouldn't be able to read them unless it somehow converted them on the go. I'm fairly sure that in this case, they'd be off just converting or recreating the stages beforehand and putting them on the disk.

Thats true. But if an internal porter would take up less space than all the N64 levels combined it would be worthwhile.

Unplayable Miis cosplaying as the playable characters replacing the Wire Frame Fighters... Genius!
While the Gooey Bomb and the Cracker Launcher are cool and all, I'm hoping for more Nintendo-oriented items.
How about Tamagon's Egg from Devil World? Throw it to hatch it and a baby dragon (Tamagon) will fly behind your character and follow you around. Tamagon would shoot fireballs in rapid succession.
Or what about Onion from Pikmin? Throw it to activate it. The Onion starts dropping 100 Pikmin onto the stage. The Pikmin starts attacking everyone (except the one who activated the item) and carrying/throwing them off the stage.
Or maybe Cucco from the Zelda series? Carry it around and you gain floating jumps (like Peach's floating jump). Throw it to unleash a swarm of angry chickens at your opponents.

And this is where I link my DeviantArt scrap www.deviantart.com/deviation/43815662/I like the Onion idea, but my idea was that the player you toss it at (or at the very least the nearest to where it lands) gets MOBBED by Pikmin, and takes 1%/sec as they try to shake the little buggers off. I like cameo items better than original, so it works.

I'd like to see some items based on Nintendo's old toys. The Ultra Hand could give characters a grab like Link's Hookshot. Turn on the Ultra Machine and let it throw baseballs everywhere. Chiritori could wonder around like Mr. Saturn and clean up items lying on the ground. Throw a Love Tester at someone and they could have a chance of either falling in love, or hating you, which you increase or decrease the damage they do. N&B Blocks could be an item, or maybe a stage.

I always thought a Virtual Boy that gave you "Combat Enhancer" from Perfect Dark like abilities would rock. Everything gets all trippy and slowed, your character trails afterimages and gets increased speed between attacks.

New items...
Kuribo's Shoe from Super Mario Bros. 3 would be sweet! You gain higher jumps and you attack as you land.. But not able to use your moves while riding this green windup boot.
Pitfall Seed from Animal Crossing: Wild World would be fun to use. You simply throw it on the ground to "bury" it.. Anyone who steps on this spot gets buried underground as if they were hit by DK's side B move.
Bill Blaster from Super Mario Bros., you know those black cannons with skulls imprinted on it? Well, it is like Cracker Launcher only it shoots Bullet Bills.
Ball 'n Chain from The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess would be fun to use. You would just swing it around and around, hitting everyone from left and right. Of course you are vulnerable from above and below.
Duck Whistle inspired by Duck Hunt. Pick it up to activate it. Duck Hunt theme plays as ducks fly upward across the screen. Anyone can get hit by the ducks like swarming Unown. If one got KO'd by a duck, the Duck Hunt Dog pops up in front of the screen (like the Nintendog) to laugh.
New stages...
Temple of Seasons from The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Seasons. Its like Hyrule Temple only it changes seasons randomly. Winter brings slippery grounds. Spring makes flowers shoot you off like Barrel Cannons. Autumn turns rocks into mushrooms you can pick up and throw. Summer is the "normal" stage.
The town of... Animal Crossing! From... Animal Crossing. Of course... Anyway, there are trees you can hit. They drop random fruits (to heal) or even an occasional bee hive (to hurt)! Time flows in real life so the seasons & day/night & different holidays are going to be so beautiful! And the town residents stroll along the background. Maybe that giraffe could run the players down with her car like those cars in Onett (SSBM). Maybe you fight in front of the wishing well that happens to be in front of the pond (well, we do need a place to fall off the screen).
Sol Sanctum from Golden Sun... I always found this mountain to be very beautiful in the opening title screen. Maybe we can see the beautiful bird-view of the town of Vale and the rest of the world in the background.
Oh, how about that rainbow road from Panel de Pon? I imagine it working like Delfino Plaza, you fight on a flying flat platform that goes along this rainbow. Each stop gets you to one of those different themed floating islands - flowers, woods, rain, swamp, etc. It repeats in a cycle.
Oh, the possibilities! I'm getting excited over this game again!

The duck whistle item is quite a good idea. The only weapon I could think of was the Ultra Hand. But I do have two good course ideas!
My first idea I had for a stage was going to be a giant R.O.B. playing with stack up blocks. This would be a massive ROB the robot and the stage would take place on his hands/black grippy things. The course would pivot (but not be moving 100% of the time) around ROB's body and it would also go up (and the force would pin you down to his hands) and down would be able to make jump higher. ROB's hands would be closed and form a flat fighting surface that would only change angle slightly down in the middle where his two hand meet. They would open every ones in a while turning the stage into two fighting surface's. If your character is holding on to the inner edges of the hands and they closed your character would either get KO'ed or stuck between the hands they will not be able to move (like DK sideways B button move in SSBM) where they would have the chance to get beaten up by the other players. ROB would also pick up stack blocks which would create either a longer platform for you to fight on (if he picked up 1 block) a slight obstacle (like 2 or 3 blocks) or a giant tower that would sort of divide the course into two halves like SSBM's Peach's Castle or Earthbound's Fourside (4 to 5 blocks tall) you would be able to fight on top of these blocks as well but you would have to be careful that ROB does'nt drop all off at once (which could get you KO'ed.)
The second course that I was thinking of is a new Final Destanation. Which would be a epic scale hellish lava filled course and you would be fighting on top of plaforms above it that would have pieces of it snap off and fall into the lava. Rock staclitites would fall down helping to create new hazards/platforms to fight on. You would have giant geysers of lava that would shoot up through the stage. I also thought off the stage could scroll upwards sometimes (like SSBM's Icilcle Mountain) and have the lava rising up behind you (sort of like those levels from SMB's games, I know there's something like it in NSMB). But since many people don't like moving courses it would not turn out well. This would be a course where you are not just trying to survive against other characters, you are trying to survive the course.
If you still can't get an idea of this course try imaging the final clash between Anakin and Obi-Wan on that lava planet from Star Wars Episode 3. That should give you an idea.

You were the chosen one! You were supposed to bring balance to the Force, not leave it wallowing in darkness!

Luigi: If you don't join me... then you must be my enemy!! I will destroy you!! Fighting as Mario and Luigi with beamswords on this course would rock!!

Maybe this whole analogy would run better with Fox as Anakin and Falco as Obi-Wan (since Fox emoes like a mofo in SF: Command and Ben Kenobi is an intergalactic badass just like Falco), with Krystal filling the roll of pregnant-or-dead Natalie Portman Padme.

Ok Here's an Item for you. Remeber back to the first Pokèmon Movie. Ok, now remeber those balls that mewtwo used to capture all the pokèmon. That would rock. Toss it at you enemy to cach him for five seconds and you can pick it upe and toss it off the side. Mwuhaha.

The best thing about that movie was Mewtwo being a complete badass. The second best thing is that Ash died.
The worst thing is that Ash came back to life, that dick. X(
One thing you need to keep in mind is that nothing in SSB thus far has been taken directly from the Pokémon anime, and that item concept is cheap as hell anyway. So I'd file that under "unlikely and ill-conceived."

Well, instead of "anime balls" they could be called "Snag Balls" instead, from Colosseum/XD. In any case, yeah, not an item I'd ever want in the game.
