Even if you don't count Mr. Game & Watch, there's Master Hand, Crazy Hand, Sandbag, and Fighting Polygon Team. They aren't playable... and I do believe there would be easy ways to replace them with Nintendo-ish things. For example, the Hands could be replaced by Andross, and the Polygons could be replaced by Miis.

But what we've been saying is that SSB has it's own identity at this point, so of course it's going to introduce original content (whether you like it or not). Yes, It would be really easy to replace the Hands with Andross, but Andross kind of sucks anyway and you'd be stripping some of SSB's influence away. Remember, not everything HAS to be a Nintendo reference, and it's been that way since the first game in the series.

And Tei is right you can't strip SSBB of it's own unique idintity. Andross is only the boss from one siries not to say Giga-Bowser isn't still bowser but Master and Cray-z are Smash not Andross.

I would like the Fighting Polygon Team to go back to being rip-offs of the characters, rather than people-shaped Fighting Wireframes. They sucked in comparison to the original If Sakurai combines the best of the first two games, and slams in a ton of great new stuff, then we could be in for one of the best games ever ;D

I like the idea of having them be Miis. They were always elements of graphic design. The Miis are part of the Wii's development so it would be cool to have to fight the Miis on your console.

Brilliant we could have wireframes of Miis that are rip-offs of the charictors.

The beauty of the Mii thing is you'll actually be hitting yourself.
Take that Granma.

The Wire Frames were actually based very loosely on Captain Falcon and Zelda, but I do miss how there were Polygon variations of all the playable characters...the only way I can justify Miis replacing the Wire Frames is if they're Mii versions of the characters you have unlocked in-game. Otherwise I think that's a terrible idea.

We could have wire-frames of Miis cosplaying Nintendo characters! Haha, no one thought of that.

Here's an Idea. When you download SSB for th VC you can unlock those levels in SSBB an d they wouldn't have to put them on the disk.

Uh, I doubt they could simply take the SSB stages from the rom stored on the Wii and stick them in the game. It should be possible but with more (way more) trouble than it's worth. Just converting or recreating them and putting them on the disk would probably be much easier. And if they're going to be just like the originals, they would be pretty small so size wouldn't be much of an issue.

Well, considering how entire maps for games like Halo can be downloaded over XBox Live, the thought of the Wii using the Shop Channel to make new/retro levels available to download into your system memory does not seem like such a far cry. Yeah, it would probably take a while to download, and you wouldn't be able to use it on other Wiis unless they downloaded it themselves (like VC games are non-transferrable), but it's not unpheasable.
And I still think anything involving Miis beyond a background role is effing stupid.
