It's a pretty good idea for a idea for a assist trophy, hopefully there will be more with creativity like this one in the game.

If Dr. Wright speaks in SSBB, then I believe his voice would sound like Dr. T. Garden's from the episode of the Super Mario Bros. Super Show: "Mario Meets Koopzilla".
Here are some of Dr. T Garden's quotes:
"Ohhh, that cursive Koopa. I'll show you. We taped him on my laboratory's hidden camera."
"You cursive Koopa! You ate all my Super Sushi! Now you'll grown too much!"
"Ohhh, not again! I just had that ceiling fixed!"
"No no no! Don't eat that! That is my latest invention! Shrinking Sukiyaki!"
"Ooohhh. Well, there is no antidote. You must wait one week for it to wear off."
Dr. T. Garden: "Great Gargantua! I've done it!" Princess (Peach): "Done what?" Dr. T. Garden: "Oh, I've created the antidote for Super Sushi!" Luigi: "Great Garlic! Now we can shrink that koopy Koopzilla back down to size!"

When I saw that green quiff and Hitler moustache I was taken aback ;D
This is definitely a random update, but a very cool idea for an Assist Trophy! Approval all round! ;D
EDIT:
Actually that isn't a ridiculous conclusion to come to. But then it's not exactly as if C.Falcon and Yoshi were unlikely candidates or anything.

Someone at Neogaf has suggested, and to me it looks like an interesting theory (though theres not enough evidence to back it up yet), that assist trophies don't summon characters, it instead transforms your character for a brief period of time. Notice how only 3 characters are shown in the update in addition to Dr. Wright? And notice in this one: the Hammer Bro appears where Kirby grabbed the item. Theres not nearly enough evidence to call it either way, but I think this would be a good way of separating Assist Trophies from being 'obscure character Pokemon'. So... what do we think?

Wow, I didn't see this one coming. If Dr Wright is in, there will be 100 assist characters at least.

Yeah, I noticed that there were only four characters on the screen with this update and can't help, but think you might be right here. You get to control the character, but for a limited time seems like the way to go.

That's a good observation, and controlling characters would be very cool, but I don't think that's the way it is. What about the Nintendog? Maybe Kirby just threw the Smash Trophy at the ground below himself.

would work like an Aeon in Final Fantasy X except uncontrollable? Perhaps.
More likely they just moved Kirby to show the Hammer Brother better. Think back to the pre-rendered E3 trailer where the Nintendog was there and all 4 characters were on-screen... but then again, could have changed or that was done to not alienate anyone without giving away details on how the dog ended up there...
But as of now, anything's possible.

Makes sence, but the Nintendog screws it up. We'll have to see.

Just Checked the video. Only 3 characters are visible during the Nintendog Scene. It's possible that You can control where the Nintendog is blocking. Also on the page it said that assist trophies were characters separate from the playable roster. which may hint at being able to control them.

I was so surprised when I saw Dr. Wright in Brawl, even as an AT. But it is perfect! That's exactly what he does in his game, build skyscrapers! LOL.
This proves that characters who never fought (like Dr. Wright) can have attacks (like the skyscrapper summon) based on the context of their games (SimCity).
Sakurai is very creative. I just don't see how people can say "so-so never fought therefore so-so can't be in Brawl as a fighter" unless they dislike so-so and are coming up with baseless reasons not to let so-so in Brawl.
That's the same thing I did with Duck Hunt Dog. I came up with a moveset based on the context in Duck Hunt. Only to be flamed in Nsider boards. Oh, well, life goes on.
Anyway, I noticed that Hammer Bro and Dr. Wright were both in Sakurai's poll list. Samurai Goro was in the poll list for Melee, though. Maybe that means something. I don't get where Nintendog comes from. Unless Brawl is the kind of game where anyone can show up and anything can happen. *hopes R.O.B. and Duck Hunt Dog get in as ATs, at least*

Just Checked the video. Only 3 characters are visible during the Nintendog Scene. Actually, I checked it too, and after careful study I noticed a possible fourth character: Snake's box. Admittedly, it's in the background, but that's the only time you see it in the whole trailer besides the ending cutscene.

Isn't E3 on today? Or later this week? Maybe there will be a third trailer video, finally? Hopefully with new info from the video such as characters, stages, and items.
