Personally I don't give a fork if third party characters make it into SSBB. It's great having a bit of a Nintendo showcase worked into the game but I just want a game that's fun to play.

A friend of mine loved to think of Super Smash Bros. series having a story. In that story, the protagonist is a kid whose hands are Master Hand and Crazy Hand, and the kid was in charge of bulding the stages out of desks, and characters out of plushies and trophies (like the openings show). When you're a kid you want to make crossovers of everything, not only of everything which has a "Nintendo" seal attached to it. On the subject of third parties, I had to go to a mass for the end of the school year today, and as I sat there coming up with random topics to get rid of the boredom, I came up with Smash Bros. 3rd party characters. It's funny how one talks about Nintendo even inside a church . That's starting to worry me. Hudson can also use Master Higgins and Bonk. Midway could also use Scorpion or Liu Kang but I doubt there will be Mortal Kombat stuff there. I'd love to see third party companies showing a lot of cameos or references to old-school games of theirs. Space Invaders, Pong paddles, Joust Knights, Tetrominoes, etc.

I'd like to see a tetris block appear as a weapon. Either the long one or the square (or both) would be best suited.

Only one. I guess I cant complain but I though there would be more at a time. They might unveil the starting roster, in which case would make scence since only one more character is about right for a roster.

I bet it would be as shocking as this part of Deal or No Deal. Just ignore Howie Mandel (the baldy) and watch the part where the fat woman opens the case. I also bet that when it is released, many die-hard Nintendo/SSB fans will upload it to YouTube, iFilm, Zippy Videos, Putfile.Com, Google Video, and other video web sites. They would also create their own videos with it.

Is it guaranteed that there will be any new characters? The translations I've read say that it says "the trailer will be the first time you see gameplay footage of the new characters", which could mean brand new characters or could simply mean footage of Pit, Wario, Metaknight, ZS Samus and Snake.
Either way, though, its more Brawl news. Can't wait.

Yeah, according to more recent news posts on GoNintendo and IGN, it seems like anything confirming one or more BRAND new characters us just a translation error. At least they're confirming actual gameplay footage, which means we'll get to see actual movesets for Pit and Snake and all them, so that's awesome enough for me.

Aw, turns out the new character thing isn't true. But we will get to see some real-time game footage, which is still awesome. Or actually, it seems to me that there's still some confusion on the subject. The translation does mention new characters. Hm.

I wonder if we'll get to see any new stages and/or items. Better yet, we'll we get to see any more old characters in their Brawl-ified from?

Or actually, it seems to me that there's still some confusion on the subject. The translation does say mention new characters. Hm. Possible. It seems likely since it seems weird to only have 9 characters with accctual game footage. The Melee trailer had 14 when it showed gameplay footage for the first time.
