The Tower of the Gods Boss From Zelda Wind Waker. Now that you mention that, bosses would rock. They'd be the equivalent of legendary Pokémon. And how about all the existing Mario alter-egos? I think they do deserve their own container item. Perhaps a "Mario Cap" item.  |

 Oogtar spelled backwards is bone brain! Since you're requesting Oogtar I want to see Mama Luigi, Toast and  Magic Carpet Guy! On a more serious note, I'd like to see Dr. Kawashima as well as Jeigan from the first Fire Emblem running around the stage for some time dealing less and less damage. Also Bald Bull for being in every Punch-Out, doing his bull charge. |

These characters I list below are the characters who were suggested for Melee but didn't make the cut and for Brawl but might not make the cut.
I doubt we will get all of these characters below. Maybe half of them, at least.
Remember Sakurai said having only popular characters as playables doesn't interest him. Maybe that's why Samurai Goro is an Assist Trophy. So there's still hope for Takamaru, Sukapon, and even Duck Hunt Dog as newcomers.

 ......you.....you beat me to it.... Was that even released in Japan? Marina from Mischief Makers should be an Assist Character! And the Elite Beat Agents. Or the gang from Oendan. Jill from Drill Dozer sounds good too. Can't forget Chibi-Robo. Tin-Star too. What are the odds of Ashley from Trace Memory showing up?

Would they have 3rd party assists? Methinks such is a fantastic way to bring in EVERYBODY without gracing them all with playable characters (Bomberman, Protoman, Bub and Bob, Simon.. Mmmm)

I was think if they were bringing 3rd parties they would do something within the same franchise as the one already in there. Like,, Tails as an assist if Sonic is in.

I really don't think Sakurai would go through the trouble with legalities and paying royalities concerning third-party characters just for Assist Trophies. What's the point in wasting his time with legalities when he can just do Nintendo Assist Trophies?
