Who should get the Assist

Little pun. Just a little one.

But, as hardcore Nintendo know-it-alls I felt it nessicary to make a topic on just who will be the assist characters. So, who do you want as an assist.

My idea is to have the team from the Elite Beat Agents/Ouedan (did not spell that last one right) rhythm games can come and do some sort of dancing attack.

Other characters I have thought of is R.O.B. the robot, Nester/other Pilotwings stuff, Advance/Battalion Wars characters (finally a good reason for one of them to be involved in Smash Bros franchise), John Raimi (from Geist),Duck Hunt Ducks (and maybe the Dog), and (hopefully) Miis.

While the concept of Assists still annoys me a bit since it might take away from characters that deserve a playable slot, and is not a suitable substitute, not to mention that they are exactly like Pokeballs in function, but less versatile... there are still cool opportunities for this. I think all of the main franchises will get some representation through this.

Mach Rider, possibly an Excitebike or truck (it did not say how large they had to be), Bubbles, Lip and possibly quite a few NES characters.

If you think about it, maybe nearly character from the last game that got a trophy and also playble characters from SSBM that could get cut and not make it as playable characters in SSBB.

You are all overlooking a very important possibility: an assist from Mr Resetti!!

A non-lordy Fire Emblem character and since people wanted to have Mia I think she should become an Assist one.
The bad thing is, Goroh is already a swordfighter. :x

My status on who returns from Melee is going through a phase change. Now I think that the clones and other less-popular characters should be re-located to assist character status, save for the ones that represent franchises as a whole (this goes for Ice Climbers and Game+Watch).

Of course, now characters that I once wanted badly but knew had little
moveset potential can be perfect fits for assist status., like Balloon Fighter. Of course, this means they shouldn't go completely nuts with the secondary characters, because we still want equal distribution (meaning we don't want 50 Mario characters and 2 Star Fox characters).

Falco, Ganondorf, Dr. Mario, Pichu, Young Link and Roy can be assist characters now. Their main representers are already there, and instead of having to be given whole new movesets to compensate, they can be given a few attacks as assist characters.

As for the rest of the playable characters, I think they should now be entirely focused on new franchises, so I'd say that all of Parrothead's wishlist should be taken into consideration.

Lastly, the trophies from the previous game could in theory be used as assist characters in this game. It makes perfect sense.

OH yeah. I knew we hade to have an Animal Crossing assist but didn't think of Resetti. Definatly.

And Robbypants, no to Ganondorf and Falco to being assist. TThey are far from secondary and are importaint enough to get a spot.

I swear to god if Falco becomes an assist character I'm going to emminate an aura of rage so thick that all of you who jinxed it by saying he'd become an assist character will feel it and wish you could go back in time and not say things that are best left unsaid. XD

That being said: Peppy and Slippy? PERFECT Assist Fodder. Maybe Wolf, too. Wouldn't mind seeing a Space Pirate from Metroid either.
