Yeah, who said Toad was in?
As for the Pokemon, I accept that they are, technically, general enemies/friends and not characters in their own right. However, Pikachu is the "main" character, so he's pretty much a given. It'd be like not having Link in there.
The others are dispensible in my eyes (maybe not Jiggly, but only because I roxxor with Jigglypuff in SSBM).

Characters I want are:
First-Party:
Little Mac - He's already a fighter. Ray01 - A new Custom Robo is coming out, so it's possible. Balloon Fighter - No reason. I just think he'd be fun to play with.
Third-Party:
The Prince of Persia- With Ubisoft so close to Nintendo, The Prince is a good choice Sonic - Who doesn't want to beat up Sonic with Mario? Megaman - Classic character. Everyone remembers the early Megamans for the NES.

Lip - (She would be fun to play because her attacks could all work like the Lip's Stick item.) Hakkun - (He's a cool character, and I imagine he'd have some interesting attacks.) Ray01 - (SSB needs a robot and theres so many different things they could do with him.) Andy - (The Wars series needs represented.) Red - (A human Pokemon character would be cool.) Meowth - (I mostly just want his song from Pokemon Gotta Dance in SSB) Mike Jones - (SSB needs an English only character.) Kagetora - (A super strong special attack involving the Odama would be awesome) ROB the Robot - (He's awesome.)

K. Rool, Deoxys, R.O.B., and Mach Rider.
I wanted a playable Miyamoto but I doubt they'd make such a thing since the game is no longer a Nintendo-only game.

But Peach has only BEEN in one game. Except for sports games, which is shown in her smash moves.
Pikachu, Jigglypuff and Pichu are completely unimportant in the Pokemon games. They're only in because of the (stupid) Anime.

Pichu and Jigglypuff will probably disappear. And if they need room to promote more new Pokémon, then Mewtwo would be a third candidate to get rid of.

They're only in because of the (stupid) Anime. What are you talking about? Peach has been in almost all of the Mario games. Plus she has been playable in three non-sport/party games. I'd have to disagree with Pikachu being unimportant to Pokemon. He's the main mascot of the series, and he's had important roles in several of the games. Pokemon Yellow(Sorta a side-kick), Pokemon Pikachu 1 & 2, a few Pokemon Mini's, Hey You, Pikachu, Pokemon Channel, and Mystery Dungeon Red & Blue all have Pikachu in important roles.

Why would Jiggly get the axe? Mewtwo possibly could, but is probably a very unlikely possiblity. Pichu, however, can go jump off Mt. Pyre or Mt. Moon or whatever tall cliff it wants.

Think about numbers. If there are going to be about 40 playable characters, we can't expect more than about 5 Pokémon. I'd keep at most 2 of the 4 current ones in the game, but that's just me. And yeah, Pichu should go jump from the Sky Pillar where Rayquaza rests . No need for pre-evolutions when there is probably going to be a total of 500 or more Pokémon.

Pit and Wario were two of my top 5 choices. So I'm quite happy so far. My other three include Mike Jones from Star Tropics (he has more than enough weaponry in both games to be a solid addition), Meowth (I love him, what can I say? He'd be a speedy character) and Lyn from Fire Emblem (she may use a sword, but she uses it so differently than Marth/Roy and Link to stand out, and she also can use a bow).
As for characters I wouldn't mind departing, the clones need to either vanish or reinvent themselves. Dr. Mario, Roy and Pichu can leave or become costumes for Mario, Marth and Pikachu. Falco, Ganondorf and Young Link all have plenty of other moves they can gain, so they might not need to leave.
As for 3rd Party characters, Mega Man from Capcom, Jade from UBI Soft's BG&E (although Rayman is a more likely candiate), Vyse from Sega's SoA (but that's not very likely...Sonic'll be there if anyone from Sega is), and Sheena from Namco's ToS (although Pac-Man or some SC character is more likely) would be really awesome for me. Just one of them would make me really happy.

My top three:
1. Takamaru (Murasame-jo): I love the game, and his moveset would probably be quite unique. Another plus would be the music he would bring with him; I think Murasame's two main themes are one of the best 8-bit tunes.
2. Ippongi Ruyta (Oss! Tatakae! Ouendan): Call me crazy, but I think this cheer squad leader could actually work out in SSBB, because the dancing moves he uses in his own game contain a lot of karate-like maneuvers that could be incorporated into some sweet (and amusing) attacks. 3. Celice (Fire Emblem 4): Okay, so he's just another sword-using lord from the franchise, but he's my favorite and also the most powerful main character from any of the games.
Yeah, I like my Japan-only games...

With Pokemon; Mewtwo makes sense, so do starters, and other important characters, but Pika and Jiggly don't, because they're only popular in the anime. They're generic low-level Pokemon in the games.
Uh, Peach has only been PLAYABLE in one non-sports game, that's what I meant.
Anyway, here's a possible Super Peach moveset:
B - Joy Does a spin in the air, deflecting all attacks, and moving up abit.
B v - Anger Goes on fire for a second, and stomps the ground, disabling enemies for a second.
B^ - Parasol Same as Melee
B > - Sadness Does a crying dash.
Super - Calm Heals all damage.

I think Pikachu and Mewtwo should stay. Possibly Jigglypuff, too. Then maybe add Red, Meowth, Eevee, Ditto, Deoxys, and/or Rukario. The other starters wouldn't work. There's too many and you can't have one without the other two. Well, you could, but it would be wierd. I could see a team of Squirtle, Bulbasaur, and Charmander working, I guess. But if they do that, why not just make Red playable and have him use them for attacks? I count three games. Super Mario Bros. 2, Super Mario RPG, Super Princess Peach. Actually, make that 4. I just remembered Paper Mario.

Ah, I didn't know that. Sorry.
You're right, Pikachu should stay. Pikachu even makes anime sounds in the spinoffs - and that counts as games. Though Jigglypuff, she was just a low-leveled Pokemon that got a good spot on the anime, then got kicked out of the anime, and hasn't been prominent since. I think the Pokemon characters you listed there are good, maybe Munchlax too, since it and Lukario are the most well know D/P Pokemon (currently).
Sorry I didn't notice this whole page.
What I would love as a Pokemon roster: Lucario, Munhlax, Pikachu, Mewtwo, Red. That would be sweet. Maybe switch either Lucario or Munchlax for Deoxys or an important Johto Pokemon (can't think of one... all of them are either unsuitable or Pichu).
I'd still like emotions Peach; think of it this way:
Toad will highly likely be in, so it would be wierd if Peach used him as a defense. Replace it with an emotion.
Parasol should stay, it's Peach's signature, but should either be changed to Perry or the pink one from SPM.
Down B could be given to Daisy; replaced with an emotion, and B> hasn't ever been used in Mario games, and should either be replaced with Chargebrella or an emotion. It could easily be worked into another character, since it's just dashing forward and making an explosion. Maybe an emotion could work the same way: Anger, dash forward and burn opponents.
Eh?
