Third Party Char...

I'm curious as Japan had a contest awhile back on who would get in, so I would like to know how you guys feel.

I voted for Sonic as he would make a great addition to the Smash Bros roster.

Gotta be Mega Man. He was NES born-and-raised, and is one of the coolest third-party videogame characters. I'd also like to see Bomberman and Pac-Man, but I had to choose

I put Ray Man up there as he was on one of the best N64 games. It was between him or Crash Bandicoot (who I have always been a long time fan but sadly am not so much since Naughty Dog stopped making Crash games)

Mega Man all the way. The most versatile and logical without being super offensive (like Sonic)

I want Megaman for the following reasons:

• Megaman's roots lie in Nintendo consoles
  
• He is VERY old school--as old as Link!
  
• There is not a Megaman franchise that has NOT appeared on a Nintendo platform (Megaman 64 is a port of Megaman Legends)
  
• Of the seven current Megaman franchises, only X and Legends have had the majority of their series on another company's console
  
• Capcom doesn't have its head up its arse and could deliver a "yes" to Nintendo in time for the deadline
  
• I'm an obsurd Megaman fanboy
  
• Cutman owns you all.
  

Also, Megaman has such a vast array of weaponry available to him that it's incredibly easy to give him a great moveset that really fits with the character's history.

I wouldn't be adverse to seeing Bomberman or Rayman either, but Megaman is my main man, man.

I used to think the same around the time when N64 SSB came out. I think I was fooled by seeing his artworks with Wario on them.

I wonder how would Mega Man obtain his opponents' powers to replace his Mega Buster. Was there any other way in the games than defeating them?

I voted 80s icon Pac-Man, but I'd love to see any of the others from the poll, too (except Geno). I don't ask so much for Sonic these days, because he's already a friend of Mario anyway.

So many people like Geno for some reason. I don't know why though. I never actually played far enough in Mario RPG to find out.

I complete concur with Tei on this one. Mega Man is my #1 choice, and he makes a lot of sense to pop up. I like Shadow Man more than Cut Man, though.

I'd be less worried about Gutsman and more worried about Gutsman's ass! ;D

Cutman, Elecman and Woodman are my three main favorite Robot Masters (although Airman is awesome too!). I think following them comes Magnetman, Astroman, Clownman and Tenguman...although Grenademan does have hilarious engrish ("SAY HELLO TO MY FEW BOMBS!!!") in Megaman 8.

If Mega Man does get in, they will have to put Cutman in the next Smash Bros (or this one, who knows) Just because Cut Man is so awesome. With the flying scissors 'n all.
