Pac Man would be great. They should just add those three (Sonic, Mega-man, and Pac-Man)

Considering those three represent what I would call the other three major third party publishers (besides Konami), that would seem appropriate. The fact that the above three have been involved with the Arcade Triforce Board would make them all seem like shoe-ins.

Ouch, Tei, you make me sound like I'm a Mega Man virgin I was just remarking that the whole "KO your enemies to gain their powers" thing is hard to do. I mean, they could drop the weapons in an energy ball a la the arcade games so Mega has to grab it to get it, but not everyone's a robot and it just seems odd for Mario to die and Mega be all like "LOL I GOT MARIO FIRE!!1!" The way my friends and I figured it years ago was that Mega Man would just use random Master Weapons for his B that he could switch with his taunt or, better yet, his Side B is a random Master Weapon. Personally, I feel that they if Mega were included they'd have to either A. give him only one Weapon from each game and leave it at that (so it isn't convoluted) or B. leave him without Master Weapons. But whacking enemies with the Rolling Cutter or Pharaoh Shot or just whipping out a Leaf Shield to absorb hits... That would make him very, very versatile. And the whole "Third Party Assists" didn't refer to "Okay, we can have two more playable 3rd party chars, but MILLIONS of Assists! " It was more like... "Are we gonna see Tails? Raiden? Roll? whoever else is from playable 3rd party series?" And, finally, Geno DOES make more sense as an Assist and that scares me very, very much LMAO, sorry about that--I didn't mean to come off as a know-it-all. Your point based on obtaining powerups from other fighters is a valid one and I understand where you're coming from--like I said myself, there's not much strategic value in the "gain move via KO" method. If I were to program Mega in as a fighter, I would ignore that sort of thing altogether and simply focus on the weapons he has from his own games. Also due to the similar nature of some of his weapons, I can imagine him having a Peach Complex for some of the Master Weapons he utilizes: Peach swaps between the Golf Club, Frying Pan and Tennis Racket when she does her Smash B, so Megaman could swap between the Rolling Cutter and Shadow Blade, or Metal Blade and Pharaoh Beam, each weapon yielding different range and power. Oooh, I like this. I was rolling with you when you mentioned 3rd Party Assists; I didn't assume there would be a squidrillion characters, but only 3PA's associated to the 3rd Party characters we get in the game including and beyond Snake. I'd be satisfied with only a couple from each franchise, but I'll gladly take more. XD What I said involving Sonic and legal hoopjumping was an example that just kind of spiraled out of control. I'd personally love to see Roll pop out of an Assist Trophy and use her broom to smack some sense into people. XD I guess if Mega Ma does make it in they could just take his moveset from Marvel vs. Capcom and figure out a way to plug them into the SSB button commands. Then he can have Hyper Mega Man as a Final Smash! Or... maybe they'll use X instead. He's the only Mega-person who hasn't been part of a crossover yet (Classic was in Mvs.C, Volnutt was in Namco X Capcom, and I think .EXE was in some other game, but I'm not sure which.). Remember, Sakurai's trying to make his own baby--not copy off others I don't believe he'd take a shortcut like that. Besides, SSB and the "Vs. Capcom" games run on different combo systems, anyway. I would rather have X just be an alternate costume for Megaman to have, while the character for the most part is based on Classic.

I still say that an arcade version of SSB featuring SEGA and Namco characters would be da bomb.

Mmmm Hee hee......I've been working ona fan design for quite some time of this. It's fun. ^_^ Anyway, my thoughts on Mega Man powers have been to have Beat drop off a power (since I'm using Eddie as an assist) to MM that's from the Smash Bros. universe. However, the KO idea is intriguing, if not a bit flawed, and using his weapons from the MM series is also a good idea. I may change my thoughts.

It would be cool to steal your foes projectiles. maybe you suck them in like Game & Watch's Oil Panic and then you can use that projectile.
