So Zamus has a regular laser shot for a B move, DK is huge, and they give us an item that auto-reflects. Sweet  But that's two item updates in a week. Woah Mr. Sakurai... what is UP? We better be getting SOMEBODY new on Monday |

I personally thought Peach was going to be shown (as many others assumed as well), is this the first week where a character has not been revealed? Second - the second week had none also, though the week before had 3. |

This is definitely worth a Friday update to me. Awesome choice of Earthbound content. Also, about time they started moderating the pace of character profiles. I don't get why everyone wanted one this week, and in extension every week. If that were the case, we'd run out of starters very quickly and then either we'd have no new character reveals for the next two-three months, or we'd see nearly every unlockable character in the game before it even came out. Why do people seem to want that to happen so badly? |

It appears as an item in all three Mother (Earthbound) games. You also got a real one as a special bonus when buying a fancypants version of Mother 3 An unexpected update, with a hilarious last screenshot ;D Kudos! EDIT: Does anyone think that opening question might be a hint? Why would it say "Mother" and not "Earthbound"? Are they finally releasing the first and third Mother games outside of Japan?! |

And they are definitely drawing a lot of attention to the fact its got 'Mother' rather than Earthbound - whether that means, as Fry suggested, local releases for the others, or a retcon of the 'Earthbound' name, or the fact the character for this series will be from 'Mother', not 'Earthbound' (so Lucas rather than Ness), who knows? EDIT: Or its just something really badly translated - something along the lines of 'using an item that says "Mother" doesn't make you a wuss'... it sounds like the type of thing that might be said in one of these updates. |

Hey guys, I think THIS might be worth reading. It has some potential future Brawl info in there partially relating to today's update, and if it's true, it's very interesting news. (Read the following after you've read the article, if you don't want me to spoil it)Who knows what they mean by "it'll spoil the game" though. It could mean anything from a Mother 3 character we're technically not supposed to know about (ex: Kumatora) to a stage based on the final boss. Or possibly just middle ground, like Lucas is in and that doesn't really spoil anything, but if you play as him in Subspace Emissary, he'll have flashbacks that are plot spoilers for the game. I'm a little worried and a little excited, but we'll see how things go! |

Despite there being mentions that there would be Mother stuff this week, and this coming true, and I'm still not sure I believe anybody has an inside source on this stuff, least of all some dude running a Mother fansite.

People want this information just cause everyone wants "big" updates, instant gratification, and don't care about the ramifications that brings later in there being no surprises once we actually get the game. At least, not until it HAPPENS. Then suddenly everyone is calling Sakurai an irresponsible jerk for showing us too many characters, instead of a tease for not showing us enough. Firstly, I think it's a bit TOO much of a coincidence, don't you? It's not like they were saying there'd be Mother info on the Dojo every week. They chose this week to predict it. And they were right. Secondly, the prediction of more Mother 3 stuff in Brawl is not far-fetched at all. And sadly, with a plot-laden game like Mother 3, spoilers kind of come with that territory. Even if it's just the guys at Starmen.net guessing, I'd say it's a pretty good guess. Thirdly, I don't really care whether the information is false or not, if it means I get a translated ROM of Mother 3 in my hands by November.  |
