No, lets go with whatever DiU said.
But, the town's name is larger then 8letters. Smashville is 9. What is the max for towns?

So my theory was right? Generic villager is the PC? Assuming this article is right, I think GG and I deserve a couple of cookies.

This information can be trusted, it comes from that Famitsu magazine. Does'nt that make it official info then?

Not really. Just because it's printed in a fairly reliable magazine doesn't mean it's true.

It has to be printed on Nintendo Power or the website to be official.

In all the years I've been on the internet, I've never seen false info from Famitsu. They're more reliable than Nintendo Power. This AC fansite are reporting it, listing the source as just Famitsu. I'm still trying to find somebody who has the actual magazine, though.

Even so it has to be on Nintendo Power to be 100% official. That or on the website.

Even so it has to be on Nintendo Power to be 100% official. That or on the website. Come now... how many times has Nintendo Power been wrong or stupid? It's "official", but even official magazines get their information from the same events as all the other magazines - they don't have the inside track to the truth.

Just because Nintendo Power are official, doesn't mean they know more than anyone else. It just means they get a fancy logo and the odd exclusive tidbit (but even that's quite rare).
Whereas Famitsu often has many exclusive interviews from the creators, and info nobody else has. Most new Pokémon are usually revealed for the first time in Famitsu, for example.
There's a reason it's the world's most respected gaming magazine.

There's a reason it's the world's most respected gaming magazine. Is'nt that because it the world's only gaming magazine that comes out once a week. (Compared to the once a month of other gaming magazines).

Why would anyone respect a magazine for that?

...try again I don't think anybody is doubting this is true if its in Famitsu (even if Famitsu isn't as reliable as Nintendo Pow... nah, can't get through that one with a straight face), we just haven't seen confirmation that it actually did and wasn't made up. Also thats a very boring looking moveset - hope they get creative with him / her. Throwing leaves that rain down as various furniture, for one.

...Throwing leaves that rain down as various furniture, for one. Obviously that would be his Final Smash

Not really. Just because it's printed in a fairly reliable magazine doesn't mean it's true. Yes, that would probobly make it true, it's just we don't have the magazine to see if it's true.

Exactly. I could tell you right now that Famitsu has nudie pictures of Peach, Zelda and Samus in the latest issue; the breakdown is not in the "Famitsu" part of that sentence. Rather, it's in the fact that I was the one to report it, and if nobody here has the magazine to prove it themselves then there's nothing anyone could do to prove me otherwise.
Since this rumor originates from GameFAQs I'd go so far to say that this is exactly the same situation I just invented above (only without the nudie pics). A member of the forums who is slightly more educated than most others pissed this snippet out onto his keyboard and let it run wild. Unless someone credible can actually prove this article is in Famitsu, then it's probably fake.
