So Lucas is in. That's good and he'll probably become one of the characters I use a lot. I know it's not likely now, but I hope that Ness remains. He's my favorite character.

I would LOVE to see Ness as a costume for Lucas. Not that it would happen, but it's still a possibility.

For myself : I liked Ness, because I learned who he was by playing, Lucas, I just hope I could try Mother 3 one day...

Also, Jigglypuff is one of the many characters to have a one hit KO move, (Others being Gaonondorf's up+A and Roy's B) so I hope Jiggly stays.

The more I look at Lucas's pictures, the more I want to play as him. I'm already enjoying playing as Ness but I wouldn't miss Ness if Lucas replaced him because its the fighting style that I really enjoyed. So that's why I don't care if Lucas replaced Ness because at least that Mother fighting style is staying.

I didn't know Ike was in an english-released game. Which one? The only game Ike's been in was an English-released one.  I'm fine with this if Ness is in too, even as an alternate costume or something. If not... well, I'm sure you all know how I feel about it by now.  |

This was a shock. Now we have 9 newcomers in the starting roster. Also, check this out.  Doesn't look like a move Ness had. Maybe there is still hope for Ness. Maybe. EDIT:Oh, I see. It's the first of the month. Newcomer day. Same way with Ike. |

And you know how everybody has been saying that one of the origanal 12 will be removed, well it could be Jiggilypuff.  That rumor was disproven a long time ago when Lucas DIDN'T pop up two months ago, and Lucas appearing now only cements its demise. I wouldn't worry about anyone being removed quite yet. We have plenty of time to see if that's true. Anyway, it's nice to see Lucas make it in. The MOTHER franchise needed a fresh face, and his model looks nice. I didn't play as Ness much, but he was unique, so I do hope he remains hiding somewhere. ;D |

Well, this was a worthwhile update. Lucas looks pretty damn awesome. I kinda wanna play Mother 3 now.. The update doesn't deconfirm Ness. It just raises more questions. That's all the updates EVER do XD Those attacks we see Lucas doing are not anything Ness does, but then again the look of the attacks could change. Ness's Down A in midair is that awesome kicking move; Lucas could do that Meta Knight but get the added effect of psychic crystals swamping the opponent. The Forward Aerial A was a small sparkle and two hands for Ness, but it could be one hand and a large shock for Lucas. I hope Ness remains in game, but damn do him and Lucas look really, really similar. I'm a huge Ness fan, but logically speaking? Mother probably only gets one character anyways. EDIT: And regardless, if it got a second, it would probably be somebody involved with Lucas's story (Claus, most likely). They are using the latest forms of all the characters for this one. Lucas is the newest Mother protagonist, like it or not. Brawl, unlike Melee, came at the END of the previous console's era and the middle of the DS's. Melee just barely missed the death of the 64 and the start of the GBA, so everything in there was just SSB64 with prettier graphics. Brawl is in the middle of the Wii development cycle, and thus has a ton more to base on, including the entire 5-year run of the GCN and GBA and the first half of the DS's cycle. |
