What about the "Tommorow Hill" (and also the alternate version "Falling off Tommorow Hill") song or a remix of it from Wario Ware: Smooth Moves (Spitz and Dribble stage) that song wasn't to bad.

Oh Oh. Tomorrow Hill ruled. I say that 4 Brawl.
I found both of the songs to be good and suck in their own respect. The Japanese one flowed a lot better, but like DiU said, it's just too young to take seriously. The English voice acting was better, but the singer stressed to much. You can tell at the very end of the arrangement. I like the US version better because the Japanese voice acter is way to cute to be Ashley.

Ahem.... Anyways, I feel Jimmy's song or Mike's song would have been way better. I actually downloaded Mike's song once to put on my iPod! Anyways, I always hated this song. All it was good for was spinning forward and hearing Ashley say "I will condemn the children to Hell" or whatever she said. That was "I have granted kids to hell" (It's not subliminal though like most people say it is simply because our brains don't work using the same algorithm as Wario Ware touched(at lest I hope not)) The part that produces the message is the part at the end: Eye of newt, I cast a hex on you Grandma's w ig this will make you big Kitten spit now your pants won't fit. and so on. Just to remind everyone - as many of you seem to have forgotten - this is not going to be the only Wario stage music. Don't forget the My Music mode and CDs. This is unlikely to even be the default WarioWare stage music.
I have no doubt there's going to be a ton of music in the game, several for each stage. So even if you don't like this song, hopefully we WILL still get Tomorrow Hill, Jimmy's Theme, and fingers crossed for Wario Land and Wario World's main themes as well!

But but but none of those are Wario es Mambo. THAT'S what needed to be in. You, sir, are very clever. WARIO DE MAMBO NYA NYA NYA NYA! The English version for Ashley's Song is allright. It's very good for a fighting tune and I'm happy enough with that. But Ashley isn't supposed to sound like that. However I expect they would let us choose between Japanese and English, at least in Europe (I know USA ver. had Japanese text and voices too). |

Yeah, that'd be excellent reasoning, but listen to the song again. The vocalist clearly sings "You better learn my name" etc etc. And the vocalist's myspace entry states that she was singing the song as the role of Ashley. If your theory was correct, I'd probably have far less of a problem with the song, but there seems to be more support towards the "Treehouse is either apathetic or stupid" theory. Sorry. |

My take on all this? It's a catchy song. I like it--the lyrics fit Ashley even if the singer does not (the song is clearly sung in 3rd person so I have no issues with the singer herself). And I doubt Ashley's Theme will be the only song to represent Wario; a lot of people don't realize this, but the franchise is rife with addictive music. Jimmy T's theme from Smooth Moves, the World 1-1 theme from WarioWorld, a lot of Wario Land music, and especially Mona Pizza and other WarioWare themes--they're all great and all have potential to be in Smash Bros. So chill--this is one song of an undefined amount to represent the franchise. There'll be more. No worries.

The background singers sing in the third person as they always did, but the main vocalist clearly sings in the first person. If this was just a fabulous valley girl singing about Ashley instead of NOA trying to pass said valley girl off as Ashley, I would like the song a lot more. Because, as you said, the song itself is quite catchy. My main issue is that if the localization job done here isn't faithful to the character, then what does that mean for the rest of the game? That's what has me so wound up. I really, really don't want lazy, crappy voice acting jobs done for my favorite characters. If this is the same team that hired the new voice actors for the later US seasons of Pokemon, and I think it is, I'm really concerned of the voices they'll try to use for Squirtle and Red, not to mention all the Pokeball Pokemon. And unlike this song, those are things I won't be able to turn off without muting the game or playing it in another language. Sakurai's going out of his way to make this game practically perfect, including music and sound. I don't want the localization team to muck that up. In other news, a bunch of people corrected the vocalist's "Super Mario Bros. Smash" typo on myspace, and she has since edited her post. It now says "Super Mario Bros. Brawl".  |

If this is the same team that hired the new voice actors for the later US seasons of Pokemon, and I think it is, I'm really concerned of the voices they'll try to use for Squirtle and Red, not to mention all the Pokeball Pokemon. I doubt Taj Productions are doing the voices for the game. But, thing is, Nintendo probably will be using the current anime voices for the Pokémon. Simply because... those are the current voices. It's more accurate, even if it does sound terrible. |
