Also, I knew about this a head of time (but disregarded for good reason). Last night, on Smashboards, two people said that Sonic was last nights update. They also said Olimar will be in the game, and another 3rd party character will be shown closer to launch. I hope not. Olimar to me is what Sonic is to Arcadenik. His games are alright but as a fighter? A waste of roster space in my opinion. Ofcourse like the trainer I'll probably end up liking him in the end. Olimar will have a crazy original way of fighting no doubt.

This was announced at a Nintendo event yesterday... so somebody has no doubt thought "I'll pretend like I predicted this update, and then make a load of ludicrous claims".
Don't believe it until you see it.

Is it just me, or does Sonic look better in this game then in Sonic 06?

He looks the same... just his legs are a little shorter. It's a mix of the Sonic '06 and Secret Rings models.

You are saying this game looks like a 360/PS3 game? Sweet!
Then again, Sonic 06 had dreadful graphics compared to other games.

This topic has kinda spun out of control into an everybody vs. Arcadenik. So he doesn't think Sonic should be in Brawl? So what? He is, so Arcadenik loses. Why is everyone getting so worked up about it? Look at it this way... if a tiny handful of anti-Sonic fans aren't going to buy the game because he's in it, it's their loss... and will be entirely countered by the fact all of the Sonic fans ever WILL buy it. So this will boost the game's sales significantly - as will Snake's, as would Pac-Man and Mega Man if they got in. After all, Pac-Man's not just popular with the retro-gamer crowd, but also the lapsed arcade gamer crowd, who might have heard of Mario and Donkey Kong, but not necessarily anyone else! And yes, he has a huge host of platform and adventure games filled with possible moves for him. Final Smash? Power Pill of course! Mega Man would be excellent, particularly the NES Mega Man. Another perfect character for Brawl. Don't you see? There really is no point talking about anime characters and stuff like that... Nintendo and Sakurai are trying to attract as many GAMERS as they can, and the Wii is trying to attract lapsed and new gamers as well. Sticking to Nintendo characters works, but there's no harm in attracting game fans used to other systems. And the ties between the companies being stronger is always a good thing. Don't let me down Sakurai! We'll said Fry! Even though I am anti-Sonic, I'm still buying Brawl. I pre-ordered it already and I don't even have a Wii! That's how much I want the game. So what if Sonic is in Brawl, I still can object him even though I lost big-time. I was only voicing my opinions about Sonic, no big deal. It will take some time for me to tolerate Sonic and more time for me to like (at least) him like I like Snake in Brawl now. And what you just said kinda made sense... Nintendo is trying to attract as many gamers with the Wii. So Sakurai is doing the same by including a FEW third-party characters in Brawl. So we got Snake and Sonic, who else could attract more audiences? Mega Man and Pac-Man, like Fry said. It makes sense.

If they REALLY want to attract more people, they'll use Master Chief and Sephiroth.

I was thinking Master Chief also. After all... Samus vs. Master Chief is the Sonic vs. Mario of this decade! Don't see it happening somehow though....

Arcade Era: Donkey Kong vs. Pac-Ma n Nintendo Era: Mario vs. THE WORLD Super Nintendo Era: Mario vs. Sonic Nintendo 64 Era: Link vs. Cloud Gamecube Era: Samus vs. Master Chief.
Maybe that's who it is for the Wii this Era too. WE SHALL SEE.

Me? I'm just surprised SegaSonicTeamYujiNaka managed to do the undoable and get their shit together. Bravo, whoever owns Sonic, bravo! And kudos to Nintendo, too, for wrestling with that shitfest! I honestly thought that they wouldn't be able to make it happen, and fuck me sideways, they did.
But IMO, Sonic doesn't justify the delay. Now, confirming Falco...yeah, Falco would make finding out about the delay worthwhile. Sonic is just a turd clump stuck to Falco's heel.

Sonic is the damn reason for the delay, so although I'm excited even for him now (who knew? ;p), I can't help but be mad at his inclusion for it.
Oh well... February's a normally boring, short month. This should liven it up, right? X(

Naw, I think Fry had a point--the game's done, it just needs to be prepped for worldwide release (it always struck me as silly that Brawl wouldn't be worldwide). It's really too late in the development cycle to add anything else.
As much as I love hating things by proxy, Sonic missed the train for Melee because he tried to get in too late and so there's nothing saying the same would happen for Brawl.

The game isn't finished yet. That's what I understand from the entry about the movie.

I don't think Sonic is the reason for the delay. Chances are, they've worked on Sonic for a good wile. Same with Ike. Same with PT. Same with Diddy. And same with Lucas. I believe that Sonic, in a way, was to soften the blow. But, of course, we only find out about it, because it was indirectly reveled (thought the Japanese launch date).
Someone from VGchartz said it the best

Yes. Sonic did not cause the delay. That's just stupid.
Sonic was just a way (as said by others) to sidestep you away from the delay, and to ease the pain, we all no doubt feel.
