Gee... I wonder when the novelty of having third-party characters fighting Nintendo characters wears off.. will that be when we have to have anime characters?  We get more third party characters? So now its complaining about 3rd party characters again? |

Oh God.... that's what I am afraid of.... in my dream, I was playing as NES DK in Brawl but I thought that's just nonsense.... but now you bring that up. I would be shocked if that did happen!  |

So it's complaining about characters who can't be in the game?
In that case, Naruto is going to ruin the whole thing for me. And so is the main character from Brother Bear. But I am looking forward to Batman.

Seriously.... it was the next logical step for Smash Brothers. The novelty of having Nintendo characters fight each other has worn off thanks to the first 2 games.... this is a way to breathe life into the series and make it exciting for people again. I'm excited just to have Kirby and Link in the same game... but the effect HAS worn off for most people. Sonic is the PERFECT addition... and so is Solid Snake. Brawl rules and it just keeps getting better. Gee... I wonder when the novelty of having third-party characters fighting Nintendo characters wears off.. will that be when we have to have anime characters? Ok, now you're just being annoying. |

Great, since Sonic has been announced I've actually started hoping for playable Mega man and if he doesn't show up I'll end up being disappointed  There's got to be a 3rd 3rd party character now though. Last week they put up that "Snake Joins the Brawl!" showcase video, despite it being kinda redundant. Then this week they put up a similar "Sonic the Hedgehog Joins the Brawl!" video. It seems natural that they'd have a third video to announce one more third-party character. Why do the Snake video if not for consistency? |

I do believe Mega Man will be in. He's the only character who comes to mind with the same kind of popularity and status as Sonic and Mario, and if Konami is being represented then surely Capcom should too. Here's hoping!

While I'm not pleased with Sonic in Brawl, I'm impressed with how he moves and fights as shown in the trailer. He seems like the new Fox to me: fast + weak = broken. Which is not good for me since I disliked playing as Fox and Falco in Melee.
I guess it will take some time for me to come into terms with Sonic in Brawl just like I did for Snake. To me, its like Brawl's title will say "Super Smash Bros. Brawl Featuring Snake and Sonic" as if third-party characters are novelty for the game.
IMO, its like seeing Bugs Bunny at Walt Disney World and knowing he doesn't belong. Walt Disney World is where you expect to find Disney characters only, not other characters from Looney Tunes or Superman. To me, Super Smash Bros. is like Nintendo's Walt Disney World so I expected to only find Nintendo characters, not Konami or Sega characters. It kinda taints the idea of Smash for me.
All JMO though.
