Wow. Didn't see that one coming at all (I mean, I saw Sonic coming, but not RIGHT NOW).
And as a selfish person, the delay doesn't bother me one bit - as long as it brings extra stuff with it, and a worldwide release next year.
I'm excited about this update, and I hate Sonic. Quit yer complainin' melonheads.

Don't play as him? It is not as simple as you would like to think. We all have to play as every playable character, including Sonic, in the 1P Modes. Oh, and we also has to play as every playable character, including Sonic, to see who sucks and who owns according to your individual Smash skills and style. It is like saying "if you don't like it, don't buy it" when if I don't buy it, how could I know if I like it or not?

Okay, then if you want to play as him anyway, why complain? Sonic was the most requested third-party character, which shows how many people actually DO want him. This isn't Super Smash Bros. Arcadenik's Version, after all.

Just because you play as a character does not mean you wanted to play as him. Oh, and I believe I have the right to complain about Sonic if I wanted to... oh, and accusing complainers as Nintendo fanboys in a Nintendo-themed message board geared towards Nintendo fanboys.... is kinda oxymoronic.

...No, being stuck in the 90's is the thing that's bad. You already said yourself that you'll have to try him out to see if he's awesome. You're just objecting because it's Sonic and OMG NINTENDO BETAR DAN SEGA!!!!
EDIT: Also, I object to being called a Nintendo fanboy. There's a difference between a fan and a fanboy, and most of us here fall into the former category, not the latter.

Nowhere in any of my posts did I say "OMG NINTENDO BETAR DAN SEGA!!!!"
Oh, being stuck in the 90's is bad? You do realize that the fabled "Mario vs. Sonic" fight is a product of the 90s and is the #1 reason why Sonic fanboys and Sonic fans want Sonic in Brawl. So who's stuck in the 90's?

No, the #1 reason people want Sonic in Brawl is that he's one of the most important characters in gaming. Ever heard of the Walk of Game? The first three characters inducted into it, voted by the world in general, were Mario, Link and Sonic.
You've already started making Sonic your scapegoat for the delay, so you obviously have some personal grudge against him. To be honest, your fanboyish attitude is getting on my nerves.
EDIT: For the record, I didn't want Sonic in because of any Sonic VS. Mario. Even in the 90's I wasn't interested in that. I wanted Sonic because he symbolizes the first ten years of my life with video games.

I've said before that I, at best, don't like Sonic, and at worst, can't stand him, but how can this be anything but good? Yeah yeah, it removed a potential spot for obscure dude #52, but who cares?
Bring on more iconic characters. Pacman. Megaman. Whoever else.

Pac-Man is one of the most important characters in gaming and he is not that wanted in Brawl. So what's up with that? What makes Sonic appealing to the masses than Pac-Man despite the fact they are some of the most important characters in gaming?
Could it be because of the fabled "Mario vs. Sonic" fight? Oh, or maybe because of that Aprils Fool joke EGM made back in 2002? Or simply because he is so cool?

If you don't like Sonic you could always just go beat the hobo out of him when it's released in 2008

CAN'T SOME OF YOU GUYS JUST BE HAPPY!(mainly Arcadenik!) Sonic is a great character! Just because you don't like him Arcadenik dosen't mean you have got to play as him. There is heaps of others! As I say, The more characters the better!

He's a big yellow ball who eats dots and ghosts. Not only that, Pac-Man doesn't have nearly the mainstream popularity that Sonic does. Three TV shows, an anime and a movie, two currently-running comic books in the US alone, action figures, plushies, t-shirts, shoes, three appearances as McDonalds toys in the last five years... Sonic is popular. Besides, who's to say Pac-Man won't be in?

If you don't like Sonic you could always just go beat the hobo out of him Oh, I will do just that... I will be sure to have Snake snap Sonic's neck. ;D Okay, about the Walk of Game, that really counts as nothing. You know how awards are chosen for the Walk of Game? Through a month-long vote held every October on the INTERNET! Halo is in the Walk of Game for crying out loud! And where's Pac-Man in the Walk of Game? Hmmm.. could it be because he is.... *gasp* uncool?

You're on the internet right now!! You just lost ALL credibility! Halo is in the Walk of Game for crying out loud! And where's Pac-Man in the Walk of Game? Hmmm.. could it be because he is.... *gasp* uncool? Halo was a pretty revolutionary and iconic game. Why shouldn't it be in there? People vote for the games they think deserve recognition. Obviously some people think these games are more deserving than Pac-Man. I for one think that Space Invaders is much more deserving as a retro game.

Sonic is popular. Besides, who's to say Pac-Man won't be in? Ummm.... Pac-Man is the Sonic in the 1980s. There is a hit song called Pac-Man Fever, a Pac-Man cartoon show, and lots of merchandise including T-shirts, plushes, etc. Therefore Pac-Man is popular, too. Pac-Man has no potential because he is just a big yellow ball that eats dots and ghosts? Umm.... what about Pac-Man World 1-3? Pac-Man got limbs so he can use them to punch and kick. He can even do rev-roll, a move just like Jigglypuff's rollout. And his up special could be eating a dot-chain (from Pac-Man World games). And his Final Smash could be eating a Power Pellet that turns characters blue and transparent (like ghosts) so Pac-Man could eat them (KOing them instantly). So there's no excuses against Pac-Man's potential.
