Thats true, but it makes sense for the 3rd party to hype their characters being in themselves. And since the third parties don't have the luxury Sakurai has of having a blog that gives us info every day, they have to hype these things somewhere.... and conferences seem the best place to do it.

Considering how often we actually get epic updates lined up with certain events--which is not very often at all--I don't think this reduces Megaman's chances at all. I mean, Shiggy's birthday and Galaxy's Japanese release were both very recent, and we didn't get anything Mario-themed for either one. Give it time. If we have another 3rd Party character, I'd set my watch and warrant on it being Megaman.

There's no serious doubts about it being Megs, but it's still a major buzzkill there wasn't any groundbreaking info concerning Brawl revealed at the event. Esp. considering that this past week was the KING OF LAME

And it gets worse, unless you're an Ice Climbers fan...

The only precedent we have for third party characters is that they are unveiled at major conferences though - Snake's first appearance (along with Brawl's first appearance) at E3, the first time we saw Snake in real detail was at a Konami conference, and the first appearance of Sonic was at whatever conference it was (I forget, but who cares?). I was fairly certain that we were getting so much crap because it was leading in to something huge - and with a Megaman conference just happening to fall then, it all just seemed to fall into place. Megaman COULD be announced whenever, but I really think it will only occur at something major, with a strong Capcom involvement. We shall see.
