That's true...you are right, NinjaRygar. When Melee was announced on May 2001 (I think), we were excited about the game and got the game on Decemeber 2001. And we still was excited with the newcomers because we found out about the newcomers after we got the game. But with Brawl, it was announced in May 2006... so we were excited about the game... and only knew five newcomers. But after the Dojo revealed seven more newcomers, we got even more excited and hoped that the unlockable newcomers would be more exciting.... and what do we get? Mewtwo's replacement, Fox's semi-clone, and a SSE enemy among tons of old characters we had been playing with for the last six years. And the newcomers already announced are really awesome but the excitement has worn out like you said. This is exactly my reason for the upset. We blew our wads of hype early. And they blew their own wads of revelation earlier than that. It's just been one big wad blowing fest. ... ...

That roster is probably fake anyway. (Though I wouldn't mind.... there's like 20 starfox characters and none of them are Krystal. LOL)
So yeah, probably fake.
I believe the subspace emisary will have a massive wad of excitement in it. Not to mention all that stuff we're going to be able to unlock. There's alot of excitement left.... even if it's not in the roster. (I think that roster is FAKE though)

That's right, Flip.... this is what we get for expecting a stellar roster with a good mix of old-school and new-school, Japan-only and international, Nintendo and third-parties.
Only two third-party characters. Only one new old-school character. Only one new Japan-only character. Ugh...

1. Guys. That is FAKE. ROB-wizzleing-64 is on that list.
2. We really have no idea how big the final roster will be. Could be 35, could even be 50 (although that seems less than likely). And even disregarding that, there's loads more to see even with knowing the whole roster.
3. Before I got Melee, I actually knew the entire roster pretty much (except Game & Watch, I think). And even then, I had so much fun discovering everything in the game. Hidden stages, all the items and their effects, trying out the different modes, getting all of the trophies (many of which taught me alot about games I've never played or heard of)...oh, and actually PLAYING AS the characters (because just seeing them and knowing they're there really isn't much). And for seven whole years, I loved the game to death and almost never got bored with it. It might just be me, but having the roster spoiled really isn't such a big deal.

I hate to sound like I'm going back to 2007 here, but I have this feeling that the roster will be around 40. In SSB, the roster was 12, and in Melee the roster was 26. Now that we have a bunch of characters confirmed, it's easier to solidify.
From SSB to Melee they added 14 new characters, so from Melee to Brawl, I"m guessing they''ll add another 14, meaning there'll be 40 total.
That means we have 12 newcomers and 13 veterans on the site already, making 25 total. Add to that the rest of the likely veterans from Melee (Marth, Mewtwo, Mr. GW, Ness, Captain Falcon, Jigglypuff, Luigi and probably Falco and Ganondorf) along with the recently confirmed newcomer Lucario and you get 35. This leaves room for 5 more newcomers.
In short, there's no way in hell the roster stops at just 35 characters. As of now I'm barracking for Takamaru, Mike Jones, Sukapon, Balloon Fighter, and Mach Rider. Not sure what the chances are of any of those guys showing up. You could easily swap out the last three for K.Rool, Ridley, and another F-Zero character and I'd still be happy.
Actually, Harry from Teleroboxer would be kinda rad...

If you are going to count ZSS and Sheik as their own characters then you logically have to +2 for the other 2 Trainer's Pokemon.
35 characters on the roster would be 39 unique movesets (assuming all characters aren't clones). Hey ho, what do you know, thats basically 40. Hell, there could be another transforming character in that 35 (Ganondorf?) that brings it up to 40 anyways.
In fact, Melee really only added 8 unique characters - Brawl has already added 13 unique characters just on whats on the Dojo alone (newcomers + 2 for PT - 1 for Lucas as he's not exactly unique). 39 characters, if none are clones, would be 19 FUCKING NEW FUCKING MOVESETS. Yes, 19. Thats more than the amount of characters in SSB. Almost as much as the amount of original characters in Melee. 19, FOR FUCKS SAKE.
I'm getting worked up about something that could very well end up fake, but seriously, everybody whining about potentially having 35 characters is an idiot.

I'm not understanding your math, but I'm going with the assumption that Falco and Ganondorf will be de-cloned, and if I do have to take into account PKMN Trainer being three characters in one, then I'll just add 2 more on to the 35 I have there, thus making it 37. That now leaves room for 3 more newcomers. My top three picks are officially Takamaru, Mike Jones and Sukapon.
Still, the only way we'll know if the Trainer's Pokeymans all count as separate characters is if they each get a trophy detailing their moves and such.

Using that 35 character list: list of all characters, characters with *** have a NEW moveset for Brawl (assuming no clones).
1) Mario 2) Luigi 3) Peach 4) Bowser 5) Link *6a) Zelda *6b) Sheik 7) *** Ganondorf 8) *** WW Link 9) Pikachu *10a) *** Pokemon Trainer's Squirtle *10b) *** PT's Ivysaur *10c) *** PT's Charizard 11) Jigglypuff 12) *** Lucario 13) Kirby 14) *** Metaknight 15) *** Dedede *16a) Samus *16b) *** Zero Suit Samus 17) Fox 18) *** Falco 19) *** Wolf 20) DK 21) *** Diddy 22) Yoshi 23) *** Wario 24) *** Pit 25) Ice Climbers 26) *** Pikmin and Olimar 27) *** Ike 28) Marth 29) Lucas 30) *** Ness 31) Captain Falcon 32) Mr Game & Watch 33) *** Snake 34) *** Sonic 35) *** ROB
That would be your list. There are 35 character spots, but as you can see, its 39 lines long - ie 39 playable characters. And 19 of those have *** - ie a new moveset.

Playable ROB64 wouldn't be bad, since he's pretty much the C3PO of Starfox and I guess you can run around making gay jokes together with pink Falcon.
Hard to believe this list, but if any of the ROBs are playable atleast we'll have a robot character.

I'm getting worked up about something that could very well end up fake, but seriously, everybody whining about potentially having 35 characters is an idiot. I don't think it's fair to call everyone who want's more then 35 characters an idiot. You only got to 40 by assuming and drawing more characters out. While 50 is a bit much, with how many characters we have on the Dojo now, 35 seems a bit too small. Especially when there could be 1 or 2 more characters (maybe). Only 4 more newcomers seems a bit small in retrospect, especially when they have been working on the game for 2 years. But people are always going to want more. It's almost expected. But that doesn't make them stupid. Ignorant maybe, but not stupid. Melee had 25 characters verses SSB's 12. SSBM had more then double the characters. Because of this, people expect a larger number of characters. If Melee could have double the characters, why can't SSBB do the same. 50 is ubserd, and 40 may be a bit much, but I don't think calling people stupid becuase they want more characters is fair. They could call you stupid for wanting to few, selling yourself short. EDIT:Sorry to get on my high horse. It's not that I think 35 is a bad number, but I think calling people idiots for wanting more isn't really justified.

Let's do the math and see if we can find a pattern.
SSB had 8 starters and 4 unlockables. That's 50% added.
SSBM had 13 starters (not counting Sheik) and 12 unlockables. That's almost 100%...I'd guess around...98%.
SSBB has 21 starters (not counting ZSS or Sheik) and you are saying it will have 15 unlockables? Pshaw. I'm guessing 19 unlockables. Wait a minute. 21 + 19 = 40?
Uh-Oh!
Yeah, SSBB will have 40 characters. What's so strange about that?

Two games does not a pattern make. Once we have Brawl's full roster, we'll have three points and then we can mathematically plot how many character SSB4 will have (and how many SSB0 had!).

...Wha? I see nothing that deconfirms anything. That's Metroid Prime 3, not Brawl.

The only difference is the type of case it is in. Note the center pieces in the two.
But that might just be how Japanese cases look.
