It's still fairly early, TEi. It's possible Sakurai decided to go for Black Shadow, or even Jody Summer to add more female characters to the roster, since she was a major character in the anime. One fighter originating from F-Zero and one from X seems a good idea to me, I wouldn't be surprised if that's why he passed over Goroh.

Ah, if only I had saw this thread before the Anti F-Zero Force broke Tei's will.

But yeah. The fact that two of Nintendo's biggest series (Wars and F-Zero) have only one AT to their name so far is extremely annoying to me. Wars is one of the oldest series in the Nintendo catalog... and unlike Pit and Ice Climber, still has games coming out! And F-Zero was one of Miyamoto's own. It hasn't had a Wii game yet, but so far it's made a hit on every single console since the SNES. That's more than can be said for Metroid.

So like Tei, I really echo the sentiment that its bunk that Lucas can make it in before, say, Goroh can.... just because he has a more vocal fanbase. F-Zero is one of Nintendo's more important franchises and I would suggest has had more exposure than the Mother series. After all, it pretty much invented a new genre of racing games. I daresay it's more significant than an RPG that Nintendo won't even bother releasing outside of Japan.

But yeah. My analysis of the situation?

Captain Falcon unlockable. One stage maybe. Goroh will be the only AT. That's it for all of F-Zero series.

And all Wars will get is that lame Assist Trophy. Its younger sister series, Fire Emblem, will probably get another PC, a handful of ATs, and maybe even two stages.

Just to establish - I'm not anti-F-Zero, but with Goroh out of the picture, and Captain Falcon not even shown yet, I am trying to be realistic as to F-Zero's coverage in this game.

I mean, of course another F-Zero racer would be excellent, but I just don't see it happening. Even Dr. Stewart and Pico seem to lag behind the bounty hunter and his chunky rival Gorgroogh in terms of popularity.

As for any X/MV/AX/GX characters, or God forbid, Rick Wheeler... well, they make Stewart and Pico look like superstars. If anything, Rick Wheeler's only more likely because he got shunted into a starring role in a couple of recent games.

Shame that.

I wouldn't say Dr. Stewart and Pico look like superstars compared to everyone in X... Jody Summer, Black Shadow and Blood Falcon have all been in the limelight far more than either of them since their introduction.

Sakurai's favorite character in 64 was Falcon, though. That's so weird he has yet to be unveiled.

But considering how much is in the game already, Captain Falcon is in and I'm convinced we'll get quite a few others in there as well in whatever form. I still personally want Princia or Lily, but... meh. I'm cool with whatever.

Hey, wasn't trying to crush Tei's dreams, just giving out a reason.

Goroh is probably a lot more important then those other characters but it all goes back to want. But it may also be he's focusing too much on Japan again. While the West has been a big focus, right now, it's more on what they want. If it was the other way around, we'd have Ness. That's probably why we lose Little Mac (with Punch-Out selling 3million units) and get characters that people here are like "who". If Sakurai had an American poll, we'd probably see more love for Issac, AW, Gohor and Little Mac.

As of right now, their could be an AW and GS character. I doubt it, but it's possible. Hopefully, net time he'll actually do a US poll.

But, as for F-Zero stuff: Capt. Falcon, at least 1 AT, and two courses.

I know there's a joke behind it, but seeing Goroh misspelled makes me weep passionately.

But yeah. It sucks that if Brawl really is supposed to be about fanservice, that it's fanservice to Japan only. He really should have polled Europe, the States, and maybe even Canada (ho ho, you thought I'd say Australia?) if it really was supposed to be fanservice. Otherwise I would hope he's using his own judgement instead.

Maybe Little Mac's and AT because, you know, he doesn't have a lot of good moves. Punch with fists and uppercut, try and pull more moves out of your ass that are not like any of the others already known. Wasn't lack of moves the reason they didn't pick Urban Champion guy before settling on IC?
Also new retro guy spot's been taken by Pit anyway who, I'm guessing, was more so requested by western fanboys then by Japs.

Also Mother has more exposure then F-Zero because it kicks one thousand times more ass.

Thing is what would Samurai Goroh do anyway, if he were playable? Yeah they pulled B moves out of their asses for Captain Falcon too, but I don't see how they can make some fat runt with a samurai blade interesting. Goroh's pretty much the goofy bad guy who losses to Captain Falcon the whole time anyway. If they're picking a second one, which I doubt, they'll go for Black Shadow and then everybody I play with will call him Batman.

Also be happy Goroh's an AT, atleast he'll show up on the battlefield from time to time. I doubt Marx will (I like that guy).

And at least Goroh's entry doesn't have the Smash symbol. Captain Falcon is just another "well duh". Just wait.

Besides, Mario Galaxy isn't out here yet either.
