Even with his newer design, Sonic himself never really looked like a furry. Just a blue spiky figure with a black olive nose.

It just occured to me that when TV Eye said "mature" he was probably talking about furry fanart, in which case my last couple posts were nonsense. If that's the case, sorry dude!

Well, yeah, that is what I meant. But you informed me of things I never knew, and knowledge is power!

See, this is the reason reading while tired is worse than driving while tired. It makes you look foolish, which is far worse than death!

But Smash does need more female characters. There's only 3 counting Nana...right? Zelda, Peach, Samus and Nana add up to 4 female fighters. I'm hoping that there's a few more gals lurking in the wings (and Krystal is not on my list of hopefuls). And I can see where TEi is coming from. If Sega screws up Skies of Arcadia's purported sequel, I'll be quite angry myself. Having characters you like in any given way be messed around with really sucks. And Star Fox is up there with the most screwed in recent memory. If anything, Rare's ultimate legacy will be Krystal's imprint left on the SF universe. And to say that in light of the good they (mostly) did on the N64 and back, it's pretty tragic. I'm sure Rare didn't intend for it to get this distorted, but manical fans with dirty minds can warp even the kindest intentions into something disturbing. If only Dinosaur Planet was left alone...then this whole argument wouldn't have happened. *shrugs*

My thought on some of the hot issues
Sonic's Design: His design is a mix between new and old. His look is taken right out of SA1 and has music from SA2. But uses many sound effects from the genesis game, and many moves try to have the same feel. Overall, he's like many characters, mixing old and new
Sonic in Brawl: I am quite happy Sonic is in the game, but I don't agree with the logic that you don't want him because his new games are bad. Not all of them are. If it moves from right to left, and only that, it works wonderfully. Makes me believe that 3D just doesn't work too well for Sonic. But just because his new games are bad means nothing. I'm upset too by the lack in quality, but people want him not because they like his new games, but because the classics were awesome (plus MariovSonic). Plus, would anyone want him if all the games suck
Falco in Brawl: I think Falco will come back. He is the most popular Starfox character. At the very least, 2nd only to Fox himself. Keep in mind Krystal and Wolf fans seem wanted for two reasons: 1)They are new. Why clammor over an old character return when you can over a brand new character. 2)They are loud. Much like FE and Earthbound, these fans are loud, and don;t represent how popular the frnachise is. In reality, it's not that big, but these people love it. Same goes for Krystal and Wolf. Falco fans are pretty sure of his return also. I think he'll return. Otherwise there is a big gapping hole.
Krystal as a furry: Krystal was not design to be sex appeal at all. She started life off as another character for Dinosaur Planet. When it became Starfox Adventure, she changed from the cat to Krystal. Krystal is really a character morphed by furries, like and female Sonic character (and yes there is Sonic pr0n, I've sadly seen it). Only in Assault was she portrayed as "sexy" and only by the artworks. Her main role to be the love interest. She is on the same level as the main female character in any JRPG. This is shown in Command as Fox goes all emo for her. Furries, however, turned her into sex. The reason we see it so often? There is no actual furry pron site. Sure, if you want big boobs or butt you can find it. But this kind of stuff is rare. Thus, many of the weird fetishes have a lot of user input. Most of the material is made by "furries" so there is actual material out there. As such, Krystal uis warped because she is easy to become porn. Krystal though is the furry poster girl since she is so easy to turn into porn. Female (really the only requirement beyond being an animal) has assets and can be considered sexy overall. So for people who actual like the character, it's really annoying when this happens. Same for Sonic in another way.
Furries: Furry is one step above bestiality
Krystal in Brawl: I would also like to see her in Brawl. For one, she is a female (need them), and she could lend herself to a good moveset. Either being a quick female chafracter (which we didn't have till ZSS) or even having her staff (making a Kilik or Sung Mei character). She offers herself well, and is popular (despite the furry crap). I think Sakurai will make her acceptable, despite furries will do you-know-what all over it.
Deviantart: Deviant is filled with the losers of the internet. They are basically a club of people who think their "cool". As such, they either make really bad art, or pr0n. Most artwork ios stuff they find funny or cool. Dumb scenarios with Sonic and Shadow for LAWLZ, and the 34ing of your childhood characters. There isn't much way to describe them beyond, "Deviantards". Of course, it ruins it for the good artist who wish to showcase this for all to see, and the people who love to draw.

Oh god what happened to this thread!? I was about to post my expectations in here and now I don't think I can anymore.
Someone needs to split the last 2-3 pages of this thread into a separate "Brawl and Furries" thread.

Not everyone at Deviant are furry porn sketchers or childhood-memory raping wraiths. There's a lot of talented folk over there who aren't into that. Considering a lot of us are either DA members or about to become one (raises hand), that could be a slap in the face. I know you didn't mean it, SChu, but I just wanted to let you know (of course, work was rather helly today, so maybe I'm reading too much into it). Also, I don't consider Colette from Tales of Symphonia or Aika and FIna from Skies of Arcadia to be slutty JRPG female leads...Shania from Shadow Hearts: From the New World? Sure. She gets a tattoo over her crotch and butt at one point, and she takes off her clothes to switch forms. That is (so far) the most blatant JRPG female sexy slutty lead I've ever seen...but the game's really goofball, so it doesn't feel too far-fetched (a cat ninja and a marachi with a gun guitar are two playable characters). *cough* Anyway, Brawl is good. And a thread split may not be a bad idea...if Fry can do that.

Well, like I said, the talented people and those who love to draw seem to be drowned by those who phail. It's the same thing with loud fans. There is talent at Deviantart, but you always hear and see the tards.

Oh god what happened to this thread!? I was about to post my expectations in here and now I don't think I can anymore. Someone needs to split the last 2-3 pages of this thread into a separate "Brawl and Furries" thread. I apologize, this was entirely my fault. I'm kind of tired of the subject myself right now, so I'll break the ice and dig back in time... You know what would be a kickass Star Fox level? Solar. Puts you on the new Great Fox hovering over the magma oceans of the small red star, and you take slowly-increasing, gradual damage as the ship travels, as it did in Star Fox 64. Flaming rock erupts from the planet's surface and rains down on the Great Fox, causing further damage to anyone misfortunate enough to be struck. The battlefield would also rotate on occasion, forcing players to seek refuge on the ship's fuselages, and occasionally go into an incline (wherein the amount of damage received from the level decreases), only to go into a decline shortly after (increasing the damage from the level). And maybe on occasion, the Bioweapon from Star Fox 64 would pop up from the lava...if for no other reason than to be there, that thing was badass. ...Wow, that WAS a cool idea! I'm glad I had it. I'd love to see this come to pass in Brawl. I don't care if it'd be another Great Fox level--the old ones didn't have any gimmicks to them, which is why they were boring as hobo. This'd make the ship worth revisiting. One thing I think the game can do without is another Sector Z/Hyrule Temple. When players get too spread out, or when an item appears on the opposite end of the level that the players are currently on, the super-wide panning makes things way too hard to see. I'm not saying each level needs to be as close-quarters as Flat Zone, they just shouldn't be so vast. ...and just last week we got New Pork City, which is incredibly awesome--enough to the point where the wide level type is worth playing on. XD Goood I hope Falco is in it ;_; Yeah, I was still whining about this a year ago...no surprise to anyone.

Some thoughts from my site: Sonic the Hedgehog Of course, Sega's main mascot has one of the highest probabilities of making it into SSB Brawl. The rumors of him being in Melee are still floating around. Sonic has been a strong stalwart for Nintendo since Sega's Dreamcast faded away - the two Sonic Adventure ports, Sonic Gems and the Sonic handheld games have all been Nintendo exclusives. And of course, the recent announcement of Mario & Sonic at the Olympics certainly added fuel to the flames. I do have to wonder though if Sonic's speed will be toned down to C. Falcon or Fox's degree to make him more playable. If he keeps the sheer speed he has in his own games, he'll be lost on the play field! Well, from what I hear, his speed is a bit unwieldy...so I wasn't too far off base. Bowser has taken more of a backseat this last generation. New Super Mario Bros. has been his most active villain role, while he has been upstaged by other villains in the Paper Mario/Mario & Luigi games. His son has also stolen some of his limelight, too. I think he'll be hidden this go-around...but he may get cut. It's unclear. Boy, amazing how wrong I was. XD Thanks to Super Princess Peach, Super Paper Mario, recent Mario Karts and the Mario sports games, Peach has blossomed into a deeper, more complex character that has potential to shift out her Melee moves for some awesome new ones. Mood Swings, anyone? Her Parasol also has gained a personality, so expect that to be upgraded, too. I predict Peach to be in the game...but she'll be hidden, methinks. Still sad by the lack of the sentient parasol. I'll dig through the boards another time.
