This is the classic single-player mode—hence the name, Classic.
In this mode, you try to clear each stage as you go.Choose your favorite character and a difficulty level, then start the match!Fight whoever appears! The world you fight in is pretty much determined based on stage number. Stage 1 is based on The Legend of Zelda. Stage 3 is based on Pokémon. And each time, the characters are chosen randomly.
You’ll also find the status of enemies and rules of the match vary slightly to include things like Giant matches, Metal matches, and Team battles.Heart icons indicate your allies. You cleared the stage!So... You just keep playing until you reach the end. Easy to understand, right?
Huh? You’re wondering what the coins on the Stage Clear screen are for? Um, you think they’re there to make it look more lively?
No, no. You earn and save these up little by little as you play. And supposedly you can use them somewhere. But no—you don’t use them to shop.

Good to comfirm it's back! ;D But why did he say "1 stage is Lengend of Zelda, 3 stage is pokemon" What is stage number 2?! Pikman or maybe Halberd that was shown in the images! Look at Dedede's face in the pic with Giant Meta Knight! Lol!

Yesterday's update was so awesome... I expected something like this.
An update that gives us very little to discuss. Oh well. Bed time I suppose.

Yay, classic mode is back!
Aaand... hm. Where's the post-victory bonuses list? Maybe it was omitted from the screenshot for translation-related reasons?

They got rid of the goofy bonus scores? Also the world being 'determined based on stage number' reminds me of N64 smash.

This IS a mix between Smash 64 and Melee.

Slightly disappointed, I was hoping they'd have made this be co-op...able... as well. But good update nevertheless. Think they'll bring back All-Star mode too?

It's nice to know that classic mode is still in the game. Now we have one long single player mode and one short single player mode. Great!

The whole 'playing random characters on random stages' thing doesn't appeal to me. I mean fighting Pikachu on a Zelda stage doesn't make any sense to me.

Because Smash Bros is all about making sense.

No no no.
You fight a random ZELDA character on stage 1. Not a random character.
You'll fight a random POKEMON on stage 3.

Look at the background here: They've slightly modified the hanger you start off in. End of line.

They got rid of the goofy bonus scores? Kirby Air Ride-style Checklist confirmed! ;D In all seriousness, I think that would make a great addition to the game. It would be much easier to keep track of all those ridiculous bonuses.
