But... Blargg's never appeared in Bowser's Castle. He's only appeared in underground caves. Yeah, 'cause the Balloon Fight fish appeared in Ice Climber, right? EDIT: I'm also fairly certain that Blargg appeared in at least one castle in SMW, and several in Yoshi's Island.

And I remember Crocomire! He would be cool, but I think the lava waves are enough hazards for this stage. He wouldn't be a hazard...he'd just pop up out of the lava and his skin would melt off in the background. XD I do think this is a great concept for a Metroid stage (dark and moody), but somehow it is missing a certain something to me to truly feel Metroid. The door is great, and a brilliant way to shield one from being burnt. But the platforms don't resemble anything I remember from Zero Mission or Super Metroid for Norfair...maybe that's my issue. *shrugs* I REALLY hope the Prime games get some attention, though. It's like we're stuck in the past in relation to Metroid. XD

If I remember correctly, Japan didn't take very well to the Prime trilogy. They're never all that big on FPS games anyway, but I guess even with a Metroid spin it wasn't enough to win over our friends in the Land of the Rising Sun.
That, and I'm sure Nintendo likes their Metroid better than Retro Studios', anyway...

Which is bullshit.
I'm glad Reggie's over at Nintendo, he seems to have a bit of a grasp that games like Prime and F-Zero GX (which if I've read correctly Miyamoto dislikes) are important for Western Audiences, and good games too.
Of course he has no influence over Smash thogh, and hence they'll be woefully underrepresented.

This is getting ridiculous... What the heck is up with Metroid and Lava Levels. I rarely see ANY Lava in Metroid games, even 2D ones. The only Lava Level should be Bowser's Castle. Would it kill them to at least get SOME stage and character designs from Retro Studios for the Metroid franchise in Brawl? I mean beyond Ridley it's pretty much Metroid Prime stuff that is requested for Smash Bros, even by the Japanese.

I guess Metroid stages are all caves and shit because that's what you do most of the time with those games, go waaaay deep into the underground. So with Metroid they can use that as an excuse to throw in lava that rises up and down because you're so damn far underground you're near the Zebes' core I guess. I can see Bowser's Castle having lava, but having it rise to the top of the stage seems weird (Bowser's own castle engulved in friggen lava). So I guess that's why they chose Metroid again.
Also this stage is probably just based on Zero Mission, so it's all retro. Chances are Metroid's second stage will be based on some kinda Prime location... that or the spacestation from Fusion (Samus' fusion suit is an alternative afterall).

If the second stage has lava or acid, then I will go mad with rage.
But until then, we must wait and see.

The Metroid Prime frustration in this topic is kinda how I feel about F-Zero content right now.
At least Samus has the Phazon Suit as an alternate costume...

We'll have to wait till the next course. Then, it will probably be safe to say wether or not it's biased. I'll be peeved if they don't add at least a Prime trophy.

At least Samus has the Phazon Suit as an alternate costume... Really? I knew she had the Fusion suit... Metroid Primes may not have been as well received in Japan, but they did get all three games, so it's not like some obscure overseas thing. If there's a second stage, I would be a little surprised if it wasn't a Prime stage. But I'm not really that bothered, to be totally honest

Samus has the colors of the Dark Suit and the Fusion Suit (but READ: not the same look, they're far too lazy. Fox just has Wolf's clothing after all) and I think the Phazon Suit is the same thingas the Dark Suit but without any details new to the Varia core.
Crocomire as a stage hazard would be so much more interesting than Kraid.
AND OH SNAP BLARGG WAS NEVER IN A CASTLE. THAT RULES OUT MY DREAM OF BANZAI BILLS ATTACKING THE MUSHROOM CASTLE-oh wait.
Stop ruling out things, Sakurai's true to the games but he doesn't stay railed to them. We'd be fighting Ultimate Chimera in a Chimera Lab or that building, and Link wouldn't show up using an LoZ recorder whirlwind.

I'd actually rather have Magikoopas, Mechakoopas, Dry Bones, Podoboos, and Firebars in a Bowser's castle stage. Maybe a giant fire breathing Bowser statue, too.

And Thwomps--don't forget Thwomps.
Actually, if it just stuck with Dry Bones, Thwomp and Lava Bubble/Podobo, then I think it would be set. The others could all be Assist Trophies.

Nothing wrong with Blarrgs in Bowser's Castle. I think Thwomps would be better though.
