If you brawl for a long time, there is one thing you will definitely start to think: "What can I do to polish up my skills?"
For that, I’ve brought back the training mode to help you get to know the characters. At first glance, nothing about this screen seems unusual.Bothersome displays are hidden at first. The settings screen appears when you pause the game.Oh! There it is!You can produce lots of items. You can put in three computer opponents, and jack their damage meters way up.And you can see how much damage different combos do.You can even put it in slow motion. (But...you can’t tell that from a screen shot.)You need to know the moves, whether you’re trying to hit with them or avoid them—this is especially true of Final Smashes.
This mode is particularly helpful with that.

The game needed some kind of ball item to keep things funny, but I never imagined a soccer one would appear.
And what's Mario throwing? A ball made of paper?

You should be able to pick up the soccer ball and throw it, but it should also just bounce around the stage if you touch it.
Also it should have a very low chance of having a Smash Ball hidden inside it. Just because.

I guess the ball moves if you walk into it or you attack it, hurting the opponent if the ball flies into his face.

It could even be a plain hindrance item, like the Sea Urchin.

Well it's nice to see this update come and like Sakarai's humour on the "slow-mo can't be seen in a screen shot" quip. The soccer ball is probably from Animal Crossing or it could from Super Mario Strikers. I also recall from a while ago I suggested the idea in the "Good weapons ideas thread" of a soccer ball as an item. What a lucky guess! ;D

The ball's probably some purely hilarious item...

I think you're right. I expect it just bounces around when you run into it. After all... it's a FOOTball... not a HANDball.

Football. It's a football! Soccer doesn't even make sense. Less sense than why American football is called football, seeing as you carry it half the time.
Ridiculous!

American football sucks. So does Soccer.
Regardless of whether it makes sense, Aussie Rules Football gets to keep the name 'football' on the grounds that it is awesome and you should all know it.

How 'bout a Sootball? I bet you can't pick it up. (An update about training, and we all discuss the minuscule soccer ball.)
