I always say soccer because that way everyone knows what I'm talking about. Makes British people go nuts, though.

Not really, just the people who play it professionally, or take it waaaaay too seriously (which is about 98% of America's population).

No. It sucks.
Lets play for 2 minutes, stop, re-evaluate our strategy, play for 2 minutes again, stop again, etc. Its why I also don't like basketball (hey theres 2 minutes left, we're down by 20 goals, better call a time out)
Also I'm Australian, and have never actually sat through a full game of it. Thats probably the biggest reason.

US Football more or less blows, but it's all we got. Baseball was basically raped and taken away by most other cultures of the world (and the evil franchises keep winning and my homies, the Red Sox, aren't so much underdogs anymore). Basketball's no fun anymore when the players are all overpaid criminals, hockey's not really that watched over here, and NOBODY knows how the hell to play cricket. That's why I make a motion for us to watch more unconventional sports, like jai alai or curling. That way EVERYONE is happy The soccer ball seems kind of lame. My guess is you can only kick/hit with it with your body and never grab it. Probably bounces off people too. That's a really weird generic item to include, might I add. Because it doesn't come out and SAY it's from Mario Strikers or AC or anything--it's just a damn soccer ball. I guess this does kinda scream to us that Sakurai has a LOT of items planned for this game, though.

You know, I was thinking, Joe (in his non-Viewtiful form) had a Soccerball move in the Viewtiful Joe Smash Bros ripoff.
So by putting 2 and 2 together to get chicken.745-gahoogidy"()", I conclude Viewtiful Joe as playable.

Well, they all suck. Football (proper "soccer" football) sucks too. Lameass boring game. But I'm British and risk being stabbed for saying that. ;D

I don't care for football much, American, British, or Aussie Rules. So, take that. The soccer ball gets the kick! Straight off the stage!

US Football does indeed suck. My idea was to change it to tackle ball.
Update OK. Nice to get a double.

I enjoy Mario Strikers does that count? No. Mario makes almost anything instantly better.

Not really, just the people who play it professionally, or take it waaaaay too seriously (which is about 98% of America's population). You're both right. Hell, all sports suck. And the people who enjoy them too much are obnoxious. XD

I still think Smash needs a beach ball. An ocassional extra-large one would be funny.
And speaking of balls, everybody should be able to curl into a ball under certain conditions and become throwable. Many characters can curl into a ball in their games, like Samus, Mario and Kirby.
I don't use Training mode much... I hope not too many trophies or unlockables have to be unlocked this way.
