Now to bump this with a possible insight to Marth's white armor. Unsure if this has been brought up before but... not just a reference to Leaf? The Fire Emblem anime has nods in the Smash games, the choice of color for Marth's armor and the voice actor returning to do new lines (not the only character but yeah). I can't see why this isn't a possibility. Makes more sense than a FE5 reference only. Ahaha, I have a VHS copy of that. It's been sitting unwatched in my closet for years now; I went through it once and it wasn't very interesting.
But then, I'm not very into Fire Emblem as it stands, so there you go. XD Plus Marth sounds really uber-girly, even given how bisho he is...but that's what happens when you get Spike Spencer to voice you.

The dub can kiss my rear. The sub works better since I love the Japanese voices. Marth is basically what gamers hear in Smash but... involving the plot.

They may be, but one can't prove it. That's why their not on the list. Jody Summers is convincing, but the colors dont' match up.

Not the colors aren't there, because they are! But that they aren't in the same places. IT makes it easier to dismiss as a coincidence. Green Falcon has a red scarf now, tho, as does James McCloud. I might rethink this.

If they make you go "Oh, wow. That's a reference!" they're a goddamn reference. Simple enough.

Oh dear Christ! So we have Captain Falcon cameoing an F-Zero character who is a cameo of Star Fox?! So does that technically count as a Star Fox cameo?! I'll be honest, those are quite convincing.

James is convincing, but how is Jody? Unless the colours white and pink are now considered cameos, as none of the colours are placed in the same area.

Jody is less convincing, but it does explain why Captain Falcon has a flamboyantly gay costume If his helmet was yellow, I'd be totally sold on it.

Theres so much gayness in Brawl I doubt they needed an excuse for the good Captain to wear Pink, but you never know.

Luigi alone gives the game so much flamboyant gayness to match up with Cho Aniki. The spectacularly sculpted arses of Snake and Fox and every male character (and female, for that matter), help too.
