We can't forget that Nintendo is first and foremost by and for the Japanese *shrug* It's not really NoJ's fault. It's more the rest. But, for the most part, NoA does a good job. Just no all the time. Sometimes it's due to the shear size of the United States, which makes some programs that NoJ and even NoE can do easily. They really can't screw us where it count. And in the future, the US is going to have to be the focus. It's hard to survive if you constantly withhold games from the largest market. Partly why the few JP only games are for the DS.

I hope you aren't suggesting that I'll have to wait until Christmas to play this game. *shakes fist angrily* NoE sucks, so what do you think? About the only thing Europe has that I want is Club Nintendo. So the general opinion in this thread can be summed in "Brawl's strong points are its gameplay, character roster and music, everything else is crap". Isn't that so? No... According to most I've heard, Brawl's strong points are pretty much the music and even that is a bit lacking. Character Roster is usually complained with 'clones' and 'ROB.' Gameplay is complained with Tripping.

Gameplay is complained with Tripping. I have to agree with that. It is the most pointless thing ever and you can easily lose an otherwise fair Brawl just because your character randomly falls over. It's fine with the banana peels but tripping over because of a change of direction? pleeeasse!

Well, here's my top qualm of them all with Brawl.
While it's nothing short of a decent game...Jesus Christ. I just...can't...think of...what to do...next...
So much to choose from.
Come on...dammit...stay focused...get off the menus and...find something to do in the game already...
*goes for a standard brawl* Theeeeeeere we go. Phew.

@mario- I think they spoiled the series a little. Getting atleast 4 or 3 new stages, the only franchise with enemies in Subspace, I THINK THEY SHOULDN'T HAVE PUT AS MUCH EFFORT INTO THIS FRANCHISE AS THE OTHER ONES. :U With this I say Wario, Donkey Kong, and Yoshi share this special treatment.
@pokemon- If I had a choice I would had never put in Pokemon Trainer, as influental to the games as he is, he took up 3 whole movesets. Pokemon got a bit spoiled too, with all remixed songs and 6 full pages of trophies.
@zelda- Toon Link is uber cheap..... :/ It also annoys me that the Zelda Gameboy games werent represented that much. I mean Ralph deserved a trophy.
@metroid- Heck yeah, did Metroid get some nice treatment, I like what they done with Metroid. Stages representing the scrolling Metroid and fps Metroid. The whole ZSS thing was clever too. They chose some nice music. BUT RIDLEY DESERVED TO BE PLAYABLE , I mean Olimar had a size problem too, he would have been about Ray MK II's size.
@kirby- Sakurai when he was developing was thinking this would be his last game, so he gave Kirby two newcomers. which were of course nice choices. I like how did made the Dragoon an item too. Everything that was Kirby was just right, Metaknight even got his own winning theme. Just maybe a bit more music....Could had use a supspace boss. Could had used another stage too.
@starfox- Sakurai always has loved Starfox, or that's what I think, due to the fact the Starfox 64 theme was in the opening of Melee and 64. The conversation cameos were always nice too. Starfox got nice music and even an item, what I was hoping for. But why Wolf instead of Krystal? And all Landmasters? >.>
@f-zero- I wonder what Sakurai thinks of F-Zero, he insisted on Captain Falcon getting a moveset and added him into Smash. Would it really had been that hard to have another F-Zero character? Only three songs were remixes too, which all sound nice. F-Zero could had used a AT and more songs. Mute City's removal bothers me too. But hey, they took the time to model 30 F-Zero cars, changed his X winning theme to the GX/AX one and give CF a animation in his FS.
@fire Emblem- FE got a bit more then last time, which is a good thing. The music choices were clever and seem to be directed at the fanbase(Attack!, Beauty is a Mad Mistress). Even a stage to represent the series as a whole. My only complaints are Roy should have gotten a trophy, more FE trophies, a Subspace boss.
@mother/EarthBound- Could had used more songs, I mean six or eight? :/ There was only one battle song. MOTHER/EarthBound wasn't treated as well as some of the other franchises, only about 9 trophies...., but hey references only the fans would get were bountiful, MOTHER 1 winning theme, the ruined zoo, The Porky Statue, and the Ultimate Chimera. So just a bit more music, trophies, and even Fourside(Which got like no references at all)
@other franchises- I was glad all of the vetreans in this category returned. But no Flatzone 1, but 2? That kind of itches on me, same with no Infinate Glacier. I'm glad ROB's in it, Olimar too(Whose's franchise could had used a bit more songs), Pit got a great return too. They got the trophies right too(Hotel Dusk! :3, Ouendan!)
I wonder why Golden Sun and Nintendo Wars got so little. Isaac should had been playable, Golden Sun's popular, he could had done well. And Nintendo Wars....why? 14 games, 19 years. It had such a large influence on gaming and probaley was the first turn based strategy game ever. It's 1989 title inspired Fire Emblem, which is curerrently in the franchise. But what? Only a Assist Trophy, a trophy, A couple of stickers. It could had used a character, stage, and even more. Heck it didn't get a song, yet it as like one of the most requested franchises for a song during brawl's production.
With the exception of that, I understand why Metal Gear and Sonic didn't get as much, since you know....it would had cost money. Codecs ftw.
They should had fixed WiFi too, and what's the deal with tripping!? Subspace could had used a deeper story too. Make it into kind of a platformer RPG too. And what's the deal with tripping? O.o
Course I'm fine with brawl. It's pretty fun, espially with pals over, just they could have delayed the game intill it was "perfect". I myself shouldn't had overhyped the game.

Dude, Mario and Pokemon are still Nintendo's biggest franchises. If you are going to count the spin-off characters and Pokemon Trainer's Pokemon then Mario has 8, Pokemon has 6, Zelda has 5 (Sheik counts), and Metroid has 2 (Zero Suit Samus). I'd say that's fair representation. As far as the Ridley thing goes, he really is too wonky to be anything other than a boss. It's not like Ganon is playable, only Ganondorf, his more weildy humanoid counterpart. I mean I have yet to see anyone try to come up with a moveset for Ridley that is fairly unique.
Why Wolf? Because Krystal deserves to be a starting fighter (No hint of clonage with starting fighters), rather than a secret fighter like Falco or Wolf. That and they need a headliner for SSB4, and Krystal is their best choice that isn't unweildy like Ridley or owned by Square Enix like Geno. I think most of the problem with MOTHER's representation in song form is that half of the songs were cut and all the new ones are on New Pork City, which isn't a stage I like.
Personally, I can definately see Krystal, Dixie Kong, Toon Zelda/Tetra, Mewtwo, and Dr. Mario (If only because the FLUDD makes Mario suck, and I don't see him losing it) in SSB4, with Krystal and Dixie Kong being starting fighters.

Dr. Mario (If only because the FLUDD makes Mario suck, and I don't see him losing it) Well...we've always got Luigi, so why bring Dr. Mario back?

Because Luigi has a hidden Fire Jump Punch, a Green Missle, an attack taunt, a klutzy running attack, a embarrassing Super Jump Punch, a erratic Luigi Cyclone, and a whole bunch of other stuff that Dr. Mario would never have.

Dr. Mario (If only because the FLUDD makes Mario suck, and I don't see him losing it) Well...we've always got Luigi, so why bring Dr. Mario back? Because Luigi is too different from Mario in general. So different I'm not good as him either. I was good with Mario and crappy with Luigi in Melee, but FLUDD makes Mario crap in Brawl, and I am still crappy with Luigi in Brawl. If the good Dr. Mario was here and had his Dr. Tornado instead of the FLUDD, I'd at least be good with him, and could stand with his Final Smash being Pill Combo or something. At least my mad skills with Young Link have moved over to Toon Link without fail.

But Mario still has the Tornado. Why don't you just not use FLUDD? Or it could be improved for SSB4. Rather than having Mario in different clothes taking a spot that could be filled by a character that isn't already in the game.
I don't see how Ridley would be any more difficult than Charizard. And you say Ridley has to be unique, yet you want Toon Zelda and Dr. Mario to be in SSB4.

Mario's "Tornado" is just a cosmetically different drill kick. If it were a special move, it would so that cool vacuum effect where it sucks up multiple foes and sends them flying at the attack's end. Having four specials that can all be used equally rather than one that's useless furthers Mario's position as the well-rounded guy.

I don't see the reason in wanting a clone character just because one attack is different.

Don't forget the possibility of a different Final Smash/some other different attacks/different physics.
